Christion Jones Touchdown Hat Trick: Alabama Star Scores On Punt Return, Kickoff, Catch (VIDEO)

Christion Jones made sure Alabama’s three-peat bid got rolling quickly.

Following a three-and-out debut by the Virginia Tech offense in the first series of the game, the junior wide receiver from Adamsville, Ala., received the ensuing punt at his own 28-yard line. After backtracking a few steps, Jones navigated the waves the onrushing Hokies for a 72-yard touchdown.

Unfortunately for Tech, this return may not have even been Jones’ most impressive of the night. After Frank Beamer’s ACC squad cut the Alabama lead to 21-10 in the second quarter, Jones returned the kickoff 94 yards for his second score of the game.

Obama Seeks Approval From Congress For Syria Strike

WASHINGTON — Short on support at home and allies abroad, President Barack Obama unexpectedly stepped back from a missile attack against Syria on Saturday and instead asked Congress to support a strike punishing Bashar Assad’s regime for the alleged use of chemical weapons.

With Navy ships on standby in the Mediterranean Sea ready to launch their cruise missiles, Obama said he had decided the United States should take military action and that he believes that as commander in chief, he has “the authority to carry out this military action without specific congressional authorization.”

Clemson Upsets Georgia 38-35: Tajh Boyd Scores 5 Touchdowns For No. 8 Tigers

CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) — As far as Tajh Boyd is concerned, Clemson’s victory against Georgia wasn’t a statement as much as a step toward much greater goals.

Boyd threw three touchdown passes and ran for two others as Clemson defeated No. 5 Georgia 38-35 on Saturday night. It was the Tigers second straight win over a top-10 opponent from the Southeastern Conference. While the victory over LSU in the Chick-fil-A Bowl left Clemson with a strong finish to last season, this win over gave the Tigers a strong start on what they hope is a special season.

“I think it was a good win,” Boyd said. “Nothing that we didn’t expect as a program, but it turned a lot of heads in college football.”

Ask Engadget: share a single muni-fi account with multiple devices?

Ask Engadget share a single munifi account with multiple devices

We know you’ve got questions, and if you’re brave enough to ask the world for answers, then here’s the outlet to do so. This week’s Ask Engadget inquiry is from Zoe, who needs to help out her mum (she’s in the UK) with a tricky WiFi problem. If you’re looking to ask one of your own, drop us a line at ask [at] engadget [dawt] com.

“My mum’s retirement community offers a municipal WiFi service for £130 per year, but only provides a login that can be used on a single device at a time. More annoyingly, that device has to use a web browser, which means that you can’t access it using an Apple TV at all. To get around that, I’ve leant her my Mac Mini, and then I share the WiFi connection over Ethernet to an Airport Extreme. Unfortunately, this only works for short bursts at a time before the DHCP or connection sharing goes screwy and needs to be reset. My question, therefore, is what can I buy that will connect to this crappy WiFi and share that connection to the other wireless devices around the home? Would it be possible to use Raspberry Pi or some other small device to do the job? All it has to do is be stable and have an uptime longer than 2 hours. Thanks!”

This is the sort of question that most geeks love getting their hands on, because it’s a good old-fashioned problem. You’ll just have to ignore all of the people who tell your mom to move house instead of coming up with a useful solution. Either way, we did think that perhaps there was a way to share this connection using a hotspot device, but they primarily use Ethernet. As such, we’re going to turn this question open to our community for some sage advice. Surely there must be a simple way to do this without depriving Zoe of her Mac Mini?

‘Thank You, Daddy’: Berlusconi Porn Movie Might Actually Get Made

Italian soft porn director Tinto Brass, the subject of a documentary screening at Venice film festival Saturday, told reporters he wants to make a film about ex-premier Silvio Berlusconi’s escorts.

“I want to make a film about Berlusconi. I had in mind the title ‘Thank you, Daddy'”, Brass said, referring to the nickname given to Berlusconi by the girls who attended the famously bawdy parties in his villa.

Brass — best known for his erotic films “All Ladies Do It”, a raunchy take on Mozart’s opera Cosi Fan Tutte, and the brutal cult movie “Caligula” — is in Venice to mark the screening of “Intintobrass”, a documentary about his life.

Kicking back on the terrace of the luxury Excelsior hotel with his busty companion Caterina Varzi, who he describes as his “muse”, the 80-year-old lamented “the preference today for senseless Internet porn over crafted erotic films.”

His would-be subject matter, the 76-year-old Berlusconi — who denies frequenting escorts or hosting lascivious parties — was found guilty in June of buying sex from a then 17-year-old prostitute nicknamed “Ruby the Heart Stealer”.

The self-proclaimed playboy features in a separate fictional film showing in Venice, Portuguese director Miguel Gomes’s ironic “Redemption”.

Berlusconi has been married twice. His second wife, Veronica Lario, filed for divorce in 2009, describing Berlusconi as “a dragon to whom young virgins offer themselves” and saying she could not stay with a man “who frequents minors”.

LG G Pad 8.3 revealed ahead of IFA, rolls out globally in Q4

LG G Pad 83 revealed ahead of IFA

Following up on its initial tease from earlier this week, LG has officially revealed the G Pad 8.3 ahead of IFA. The slate’s positioned as the next step from its G2 smartphone, and the company claims it’s the first eight-inch tablet with a 1920 x 1200 WUXGA (Widescreen Ultra Extended Graphics Array) full HD screen. The device features a 4,600mAh battery, and runs Jelly Bean 4.2.2 atop a 1.7 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 600 processor aided by 2GB of RAM. Despite all that, it’s just 8.33m thick and weighs 338 grams. Software enhancements include QPair and QSlide — the former lets you receive messages and calls from JB-equipped Android phones on the G Pad itself, while the latter allows for three apps to run on-screen at once. What’s more, with KnockOn you simply tap the screen twice to wake it up. The G Pad 8.3 will be available globally beginning in Q4 in your choice of black or white with 16 GB of storage. No word on pricing just yet, but expect a hands-on once we catch it on the show floor.
