Fujitsu HumanBridge Deployed In 200 Medical Facilities in Japan

Fujitsu HumanBridge Deployed In 200 Medical Facilities in JapanWe previously heard of the Fujitsu HumanBridge in a conceptual form, but since it made noise in 2011, the system has been deployed in about 200 medical facilities to share medical records and documents of patients. Pitched as a medical network, HumanBridge is a cloud infrastructure that allows all participating medical centers to freely share access to patients medical records (with their explicit consent). Fujitsu Akisai Food And Agriculture Cloud

Fujitsu Akisai Food And Agriculture Cloud[CEATEC 2013] Farming technology has definitely come a long way from the days when man just scattered seeds across ploughed land, waiting and hoping that everything else would go in their favor in order to enjoy a bountiful harvest a few months from now. Well, Fujitsu has come up with the Fujitsu Akisai food and agriculture cloud, where it will rely on information technology to help enhance food and agricultural capabilities.

The Fujitsu Akisai Farms will comprise of both open-air farming and greenhouse horticulture, where the Akisai cloud is capable of supporting every phase of the farming process, ranging from production to management and sales. It is hoped that this will be able to see a movement toward a new enterprise management style that will introduce improvements to agriculture and food markets, and with shortage of food in poor and underdeveloped countries a major issue, this should deliver a plentiful future for food so that folks will always have access to safe, secure, and delicious food products.

From January 2014 onward, Fujitsu will introduce their Fujitsu Akisai food and agriculture cloud in order to grow low potassium and pesticide-free lettuce. This will be greatly beneficial to those who have liver disease, since they need to avoid too much intake of potassium in their diet. It goes without saying that this technology can eventually be translated to other agricultural products for a greater and healthier yield.

Softbank announces the Arrows A, can fast-charge a day of use in just 10 minutes

Softbank's Winter 2013 range for Japan includes the Arrow A, a smartphone models that fully charge in 10 minutes

Softbank has just held its biannual showcase to reveal its new smartphone family and, as is often the case with Japanese carriers, there’s a few interesting devices alongside the more predictable iPhone fare. Poring over the company’s Winter 2013 collection, it’s Fujitsu’s Arrows A 301F that immediately jumps out, with the particularly useful ability to charge up “a full day” of use in just 10 minutes. However, we’re not sure whether that’s thanks to the processor or a “dedicated” AC adapter that comes with the device. The 2,600mAh battery will reportedly offer three days of use on a full charge and is accompanied by some more familiar smartphone specs, like a 5-inch 1080p display, Snapdragon 800 processor, and 13-megapixel camera sensor. Talking of sensors, there’s one other feature that’s had plenty of attention elsewhere recently: a fingerprint reader. On the Arrow A, it’s located on the rear, just below the flash and camera sensor, although the company hasn’t elaborated on its uses. The phone will launch in Japan this December.

Fujitsu F-07E Uses FPC Fingerprint Technology

Fujitsu F 07E Uses FPC Fingerprint TechnologyWhat makes the Fujitsu F-07E so special? Well, it so happens to be the first smartphone that will rely on FPC fingerprint technology, and it has been launched by Fujitsu with DoCoMo all over Japan. This might be a Disney-branded smartphone, but make no mistake about it – the list of hardware specifications are pretty much all grown up, with the ability to support Fingerprint Cards’ (FPC’s) swipe sensor technology.

Katsumi Takada, head of Mobile Phone Group of Fujitsu, said, “Finger sensors in smart devices have become an increasingly essential way to ensure that these devices are secure and at the same time they add convenience for the users. Finger sensors in smartphones have become something of a trademark for Fujitsu and by adding 1080 swipe sensor technology from Fingerprint Cards, we are taking the next step in helping smartphone users to increase the convenience of their experience through effortless fingerprint security.”.

There is the expectation that this launch in Japan is just a start, as there might be additional launches throughout Asia for the rest of the year, and promisingly, beyond, too. Hmm, guess notebooks alone are not the only ones to feature fingerprint sensors, as we have also heard of rumors that the upcoming iPhone 5S might also feature a fingerprint sensor of its own. Fujitsu FJDEV009 Spotted In AnTuTu Benchmark

Fujitsu FJDEV009 Spotted In AnTuTu BenchmarkHere is another device that has gotten its benchmark results on AnTuTu leaked out – where it is anonymously known as FJDEV009. The Fujitsu FJDEV009 is most probably a smartphone that will remain specific to the Japanese market alone, which is more often than not the case for many a Japanese smartphone. In fact, from what we were able to glean from the details found on the AnTuTu database, the Fujitsu FJDEV009 will run on a quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor which is capable of clocking up to 2.15GHz in terms of speed, and we also know that the Fujitsu FJDEV009 was tested in the Land of the Rising Sun, picking up a score of more than 30,000 points in addition to being powered by Google’s Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean as the mobile operating system of choice.

It seems that the Fujitsu FJDEV009 is being prepared to be yet another flagship smartphone from Fujitsu, and will roll out via NTT DoCoMo in Japan. Guess this means the chances of the Fujitsu FJDEV009 heading anywhere else outside of Japan is as slim as Arsenal winning the Premier League this year (yes, and I am a fan of the Gunners, sometimes you just got to face up to reality). We do hope to catch a glimpse of its leaked photos soon though.

Fujitsu introduces wireless scanning function for ScanSnap iX500 desktop scanner

fujitsu-scansnapWhich do you think is more achievable – living in a wireless world, or to live in a paperless environment? I personally think that it will be more or less impossible to have both achieve their respective objectives, but the former – a true, blue wireless environment, might be a whole lot more possible. After all, Wi-Fi networks in homes as well as public spaces have become more and more abundant these days, not to mention the introduction of various technologies in recent years like Bluetooth and NFC that help to facilitate even more wireless connectivity between devices. Fujitsu intends to perform a wireless-paperless meld with the introduction of a wireless scanning function for the Fujitsu ScanSnap iX500 desktop scanner.

This new software update will ensure that customers will be able to wirelessly scan documents to a PC or Mac, helping expand the capabilities of its built-in Wi-Fi connectivity even further. As at press time, ScanSnap iX500 customers do already happen to be able to scan straight to their Android and iOS compatible devices, and now the next step is taken – one has the proverbial freedom to “cut the cord” from their computer without having to lose any of the ScanSnap iX500’s advanced scanning functionality, which would definitely make scanning at home or at the office a whole lot more convenient.

Thanks to the introduction of wireless connectivity, one is able to place the ScanSnap iX500 away from their computer, although I am not sure why one would put it in the kitchen. As long as it is in range, you will be able to scan as though it was connected via USB. This would pave the way for you to create PDF files at speeds of up to 25 double-sided color pages per minute (300dpi, color) and scan like you normally would, except that you do not remain tethered this time around.
