I-O Data hits back with a new line of bus-powered USB 3.0 portable hard drives, the HDPC-UT. Coming in 500GB and 1TB sizes, these compact hard drives (W75mm x D112mm x H14mm) feature a scratch resistant hard coating on the top plate and a non-slip rubber bottom, a USB 3.0 connection interface and TV recording support. Available in five different color options: white x silky gray, red x brown, silver gray, black x blue and bordeaux x brown, the 500GB and 1TB models will start shipping from late April for 9,975 Yen (about $101) and 13,860 Yen (about $141), respectively. I-O Data will also launch their newest dual-band WiFi router, the WN-AC733GR. Corresponding to the ‘Draft 11ac’ (the new standard for Wireless LAN IEEE802.11ac), the WN-AC733GR is equipped with four LAN ports, one Internet LAN port and supports for dual-band WiFi access point (2.4GHz – 300Mbps and 5GHz – 433Mbps). I-O Data is set to drop their latest touchscreen LCD monitor, the LCD-MF223FBR-T. This new 21.5-inch LED-backlight two-point multi-touch monitor provides 1920 x 1080 Full HD resolution, 1000:1 contrast ratio, 220 cd/m2 brightness, 5ms response time and 170/160 degree viewing angles. In addition, it also comes with two built-in 1W stereo speakers and has USB, D-Sub, DVI-D and HDMI connectors. Here we have a new WiFi router from I-O Data, the WN-G300GR. This energy efficient WiFi router (ECO mode by reducing power consumption up to about 63% during standby) comes with four LAN ports, one Internet LAN port, WPS support, single-band WiFi access point (2.4GHz – 300Mbps) and provides security through encryption using WEP (128/64bit), WPA-PSK (TKIP/AES) or WPA2-PSK (TKIP/AES). I-O Data is gearing up to drop their newest 24x external DVD writer. Called the DVR-U24EZ, the drive features a USB 2.0 connection interface and is able to provide write speeds of up to 24x for single-layer DVD+R. In addition, the drive also comes bundled with Nero 12 Express Essentials software. The DVR-U24EZ will start shipping from late March for 6,405 Yen (about $70). [I-O Data]
