Logitech Ships One Billionth Mouse
Posted in: Today's ChiliOK, it seems somewhat fortuitous that Logitech just managed to ship its one billionth mouse in the same week that news broke about the computer mouse turning 40 years old.
Still, a billion mice is a lot of ‘mouses’, and Logitech has been running them off the production lines since the early 1980s.
Rory Dooley, Senior Vice President, Control Devices at Logitech says:
“When all of this started for Logitech back in the early ’80s (PDF), the mouse was primarily a tool for CAD (computer-aided design applications). Since then, the mouse has become something much more – it is truly the key to the kingdom – the device that unlocked the power of the computer for the many of us who don’t write computer code. The mouse opened up computing to the average person by providing a simple, intuitive way to interact with the computer.”
