Ematic eGlide Pro X runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich

Ematic has introduced tablets in the past, so it is not strange to see their latest Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich powered tablet, the eGlide Pro X, to be introduced. It will comes with a 4:3 aspect ratio for its 9.7″ display which is more often than not more suitable for e-book reading than to watch movies, in addition to sporting competitive programs and apps. Ematic claims that the eGlide Pro X is “the perfect device for professionals’ on-the-go or for personal use”, although we will have to get our hands on it ourselves to find out whether that is true or not.

Some of the hardware specifications of the eGlide Pro X include a three-axis gyroscope, a 1.2GHz processor, a 400MHz GPU for graphics intensive apps, built-in Wi-Fi connectivity, 1GB RAM, 8GB of internal memory accompanied by 5GB of cloud storage for you to play around with, and a microSD memory card slot for expansion purposes. There is also an integrated voice recorder and HDMI capability for you to view movies and images on your TV. If you are interested, the eGlide Pro X can be yours for $219.99. [Press Release]

Mass Effect 3 Extended Cut Lands

If you’re an Xbox 360 gamer that has a copy of Mass Effect 3, there’s new download content now available. The free download of Mass Effect 3: Extended Cut went live today and weighs in at a hefty 1.85 GB in size.

me 3 end

The content is the expanded ending for ME3 with additional scenes and an extended epilogue. That extended epilogue reveals the impact of Shepard’s choices on the future of the galaxy. That’s all EA and BioWare says about the content, and you’ll have to play it for yourself to find out how it ends.

I still can’t believe all the ruckus the ending of this video game caused. It’s not as if Shepard hasn’t come back from the dead before.

Cisco rolls its first Linksys 802.11ac WiFi router and bridge, kicks off Connect Cloud app platform (video)

Cisco leaps in with its first Linksys 80211ac WiFi router and bridge, kicks off Connect Cloud app platform

Cisco won’t be the fastest out of the gate with an 802.11ac WiFi router, but it’s certainly one of the most ambitious. The dual-band Linksys EA6500 and a companion, single-band Universal Media Connector network bridge hike the bandwidth up to 802.11ac’s 1.3Gbps peak, each of them carrying their own quartet of gigabit Ethernet jacks. A pair of USB ports on the EA6500 should make sharing storage that much faster as well. If you ask Cisco, however, the real highlight is the new Cisco Connect Cloud app platform. Not unlike Novatel’s MiFi apps, the software helps either manage the router itself (think parental controls) or tap into other devices around the home, including AirPlay sharing and remote camera monitoring. There’s even a new SimpleTap hardware integration platform that will pair third-party WiFi gear like Onkyo receivers to a router through Android and iOS smartphone apps. Eventually, that should include a gentle NFC-based nudge.

A Linksys Developer Community is starting now with six app developers already lined up, and support is due for any access point Cisco deems worthy of the Smart Wi-Fi Router name. That said, you’ll have to wait awhile if you want the 802.11ac tag attached to that router at the same time. The currently-without-a-price EA6500 doesn’t hit shops until early August; you’ll have to wait until September for the equally priceless Universal Media Connector.

Firefox for Android leaves beta with improved performance

If you’ve been keeping an eye on Firefox Beta for Android at all, you’ll know the browser has seen a flurry of updates over the past few weeks bringing performance improvements as well as additional features. Mozilla now say that that the stable version has now been updated to add all those improvements, which includes Flash and HTML5 support, a tab redesign, and revamped welcome page.

Mozilla say that the speed improvements are the real star of the show, and from using the Beta version, we have to agree. Initial load times are “lightning fast”, and the company says that the browser was created against a new benchmark called Eideticker, something it claims helps achieve performance that’s twice as fast as the stock Android browser.

The new “Awesome Page” displays your favourite websites in addition to the most recently visited tabs, and the URL bar has been tweaked to display the most recent searches and visited websites to cut down on awkward typing time. Desktop users will also be able to sync bookmarks between the regular Firefox and mobile version. Tabbed browsing has been tweaked too, allowing users to easily switch between open windows without too much fuss.

The new Firefox update doesn’t seem to have quite the Play Store just yet, but Mozilla say it will definitely land today. Keep an eye out in the meantime, and definitely give it a try.

What he didn’t expect is that people would actually care what happened to @Trackgirl.

Dr. Peggy Drexler: Mitt To Women:Mitt to Women:My economy Will Give What My Policies Take Away

To any woman whose hope for a Romney-led surge in the economy obscures her concern about his presidency’s impact on her well-being, I have to say bamboozled is the operative word.

Maybe that’s a little harsh. Let’s go with short-sighted.

The Romney team is working overtime to bring women into camp with enticements of a better economy. Fair enough. We all want that.
