Mila Kunis’ Glamour Cover Looks A Little Off (PHOTOS)

We love Mila Kunis because she’s able to strike that perfect balance between laid-back tomboy and glam red carpet star. Since we’re such big fans, we were slightly taken aback when we saw her cover photo for Glamour‘s August 2012 issue.

Mila looks beautiful (as per usual), but there was something a little off about the photo — her head looks way oversized. We suspect it’s a case of Photoshop-inflicted bobble head, but we’re confused why any magazine would want to do that to their cover star.

Besides her strange retouching, the petite actress looks pretty adorable in a denim-on-denim ensemble, floppy hat and some major mascara. Inside the mag, she sticks with the low-key denim look in cut-off shorts while lounging on a fire escape and licking an ice cream cone (frozen desserts are so hot right now). Mila even dishes on her current body image and “Black Swan” svelte physique:

Feral Cats Catching Rats? Chicago Ward Has A Unique Solution For Rodent Problem

A North Side Chicago neighborhood is putting area feral cats to work battling its rat problem.

CBS Chicago reports that Chicago’s 47th Ward is working on a pilot program with the Tree House Humane Society where neutered, vaccinated and microchipped feral cats are being sent back out to the streets to try and deter pesky rodents.

Jenny Schlueter, the shelter’s development director, explained to the station that the “Working Cats” program is an alternative to the city spreading ineffective — and expensive — rat poison. Instead, the presence — specifically, the odor — alone of a cat can help scare away rats.

Bay Area Bridge Tolls To Jump

Motorists who cross Bay Area bridges in big-rigs, cars or trucks hauling trailers, and other vehicle combinations with more than two axles will pay higher tolls starting July 1.

Best Athlete Tweets Of The Week: Metta World Peace, Spencer Hawes Make Noise On Twitter (June 24-29)

Between Mario Balotelli’s impressive performance in the Euro 2012 Semifinals, the 2012 NBA Draft and Sidney Crosby’s massive 12-year contract, there was no lack of sports trending terms on Twitter this week. As per usual, professional athletes were among those participating in the conversations. Of course, some of the athletes we follow chose to weigh in on off-the-field events like the Supreme Court healthcare ruling.

We’ve once again scoured our timeline from the past week to bring you what we believe to be the best of the best — and/or the most bizarre — that athletes have to offer via Twitter. Vote on which athlete you believe had this week’s best tweet. The winner will be given remarkable Interweb cred and 140 characters worth of salutations via the @HuffPostSports Twitter account.

Mexico Elections: Vote-Buying Worries Plague Voters

MEXICO CITY — Political reforms in Mexico have made it much harder to steal an election, officials say. But a lot of people think you can still buy one.

As voters go to the polls Sunday to elect a new president, allegations are flying that candidates are offering money and swag, flouting campaign-spending limits in the process. Most allegations are aimed at the old guard Institutional Revolutionary Party, or PRI, which polls say holds a sizeable lead after being kicked out of the top office by voters 12 years ago.

Animal Photos Of The Week

Tragedy hit a chimpanzee sanctuary in South Africa this week, when an American graduate student sustained injuries in a severe chimp attack that have left him in critical condition. Andrew Oberle was repeatedly bitten and dragged nearly half a mile by the animals. No others were injured, reported the Associated Press.

In Texas, the death of a cattle herd has been tied to cyanide, or prussic acid, poisoning from “a common Bermuda grass hybrid found in grazing lands across Texas,” explained AP. The grass, which was introduced in 1992, is known for its drought resistance. This was the first case of cattle cyanide deaths from the grass.

In lighter animal news, check out this live webcam of Atlantic puffins waddling around a remote Maine island. The cams, streamed from the largest U.S. puffin colony at Seal Island National Wildlife Refuge, were installed by the National Audubon Society and explore.org. In case you missed it, this puppy on a beach has a good time trying to make friends with a crab.

Panasonic’s Eluga V for NTT DoCoMo swings past the FCC

Panasonic Eluga V

Panasonic’s Eluga V smartphone arrived at NTT DoCoMo back in May and now the company has dropped one of its handsets off at the FCC’s underground bunker. The Ice Cream Sandwich-running phone has a 4.6-inch, 1280 x 720 display, wireless charging, the same water and dust proofing that we saw in its two brothers, HSPA, Bluetooth 3.0 and 802.11 b/g/n WiFi. Don’t let the news of governmental approval get your hopes up for a stateside launch however, this one’s just to ensure that tourists won’t have the handset seized as soon as they reach customs.
