Brian J. Siebel: Obamacare Is Constitutional — Now the Fight Begins

All of us who support these principles have a second chance to sell this to the American people, but it’s not a very big window of time in which to do so.

Classic Sci-Fi Scenes Get the LEGO Treatment

Official LEGO Star Wars sets have been around since 1999, but what our other geek needs? Where is our Blade Runner? Or TRON? Why is there no Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy set? LEGO, you are missing out on all of my money. Thankfully, The Living Brick’s “Mi-Fi“ Contest fulfills some of these dreams.

IdeaPaint Transforms Any Surface into an Erasable Board

My sisters and I used to draw on any and every surface we found, much to the dismay of our parents. Some of our walls still bear evidence of our creativity, since no amount of soap or scrubbing could completely erase the marks we made.

One thing that will save your walls and keep the creativity flowing is IdeaPaint. It’s available as an opaque or clear coating that will add dry erase functionality to any surface. Paint it on your walls, on your desks, on chairs, and any other surface where you want to write, doodle, or draw to your heart’s content.

It’s virtually odorless, too, so you don’t have to worry about airing rooms out after painting over your stuff.

A basic IdeaPaint CLEAR kit retails for $225(USD) and contains everything you need to start transforming up to 50 square feet of stuff into dry-erase surfaces, including a roller, stir stick, can opener, and wet paint sign.

Samsung Galaxy S III for T-Mobile review

DNP Samsung Galaxy S III for TMobile review

If three’s a crowd, the Samsung Galaxy S III party in the US is about to get pretty stuffy. Having already reviewed AT&T and Sprint’s variants — not to mention the original I9300 before them — we’re now ready to put a third iteration through its paces, this time from the country’s fourth-largest carrier, T-Mobile.

Of course, the phone itself needs no grand introduction, as it’s fast become the new darling of the smartphone world. And rightfully so, in many respects: it’s the first high-end device to launch on all four major mobile operators in the US (a feat in and of itself), and it’s done so with minimal carrier branding, hardware changes or bloatware levies. It is, in essence, an unadulterated handset. The reason this piece of news is so wondrous is that it opens up your ability to choose your phone service based on the network, not on the actual phone each individual carrier offers.

Sadly, the big tradeoff here is the loss of an Exynos quad-core processor in exchange for a Snapdragon S4 dual-core chipset and additional RAM. Join us as we take a deeper look at the T-Mobile Galaxy S III. Is it the best phone on the network? Is it worth shelling out $280 (with a two-year contract) for the 16GB model or $330 for 32GB? How well does it perform? This and more answers await you in our full review below.

This Zmodo DVR Surveillance System Is Your Spy-Vs-Spy Deal of the Day [Dealzmodo]

I am not a spy, and I’ve never wanted to be one. If I was going to be a spy, I’d be in the Get Smart universe. Maybe Inspector Gadget. I could definitely be Eddie Murphy’s I-Spy sidekick. In real life, however, I have no reason to want or need a system for surveillance. I just don’t understand what I could possibly look at. And no one has any reason to spy on me. My life isn’t that exciting or terribly secretive. I’ve never been to Russia or toured the CIA facilities, although I did do my post-boot camp basic training at Ft. Meade, Md., right next to the NSA headquarters there. I don’t know, I’m going to go think about ways I can use this Zmodo Surveillance System to spy on people. At 63% off, it’s worth it. More »

Epic Games iOS Infinity Blade is company’s most profitable

Epic Games has an interesting little factoid that it wants you to be aware of. Its iPhone/iPad game Infinity Blade is more profitable than Gears of War. That is, of course, if you look at it on a relative scale. Obviously, the company’s total revenue brought in by its blockbuster console titles far outweighs that of any of its mobile endeavors.

But the cost of creating, marketing, and distributing Gears of War, for example, and monstrous. And when you look at a strict scale of dollars spent versus dollars earned, Infinity Blade is at the top. So yes, Epic co-founders Tim Sweeney and Mark Rein have gone on record as calling the iOS title the “most profitable game we’ve ever made.”

Now of course, Epic could not exist if it only made games like Infinity Blade. If you spend $10 to make a game and earn $50 in sales, but another game costs you $1 million to make $3 million, no company in the world is going to choose the former. But it is still a very salient statistic, since many companies still consider the mobile space nothing more than a cash suck. For many, it’s still a platform for testing and research, but Epic is proof that it can be very profitable.
