Big Head Squirrel Feeder – Because they Deserve it!

If any of you have a bird feeder in your yard, you know how difficult it is to keep the pesky squirrels away from your bird food. Now, I’m not completely against feeding a squirrel, I mean, they are little animals that deserve to eat as well… It’s just that they can empty a whole feeder in one sitting leaving my little winged pals with nothing at all. I’ve tried corn feeders and other things to lure them away and nothing works, besides the fact that I’m going through 10 pounds of birdseed a week, it has become a test of wills between me, and the squirrel we call Phil.

Well Phil has something coming next week, and I do believe if you can’t beat em, join em, I’m tired of being the lunatic banging on the back door glass while Phil mocks me with his swishing tail from my own backyard. I’m getting the Big Head Squirrel Feeder and keeping my camera handy. The Big Head Squirrel Feeder is simply a plastic head that you hang from its ears waiting for your unsuspecting foe to visit for a snack, and when he does stick his smug little face into the giant head, the humiliation opportunities abound.

I can sit there aggravated, trying to get rid of him, or I can wait for him to come and then point fingers and laugh, embarrassing him in front of every single woodland creature in my yard. It was that or wiring the pole the bird feeder sits on to fry his stick straight little tail into smoking curls, but so many people seemed to frown on that idea. A girl’s gotta do what she’s gotta do. The Big Head Squirrel Feeder will be available soon at perpetualkid.com for under 15 bucks, and watch for a picture of Phil soon, he’ll be the idiot squirrel with the giant head, and a frizzy tail.

It’s an unsurprising move given the company has similar deals in place with Netflix and Hulu to let you watch classics like Pulp Fiction, Clerks and Trainspotting whenever the urge takes you. While there was no official confirmation of a launch window, a cursory check of our own account reveals that some of the titles (including Kill Bill) are already popping up on the instant service.

YouTube will kick in an extra $200 million to market new channels

DNP YouTube will throw another $200 million at wannabe channel producers

Google’s about to expand its original content experiment by spreading another $200 million around marketing its new video channels, as it announced in May. The original $150 million, which created nearly 100 new YouTube channels with notables like Amy Poehler and NBA Star Blake Griffin, apparently caught on with advertisers who were willing to pay a premium to appear alongside branded, non-crummy content. It’s also popular with the creative set, who like the instant feedback and flexibility to take a show 180 degrees if needed in order to draw eyeballs. Mountain View could also possibly bring the more polished programs to French and British viewers by next year, according to WSJ sources. If it does, and you’re on that side of the pond, you may want to get your pitch in order.

Update: Google confirmed they won’t be investing money on any new channels or production, as originally reported — the $200 million is for marketing only.

Nintendo 3DS XL sells nearly 200k units in 24hrs tips report

Nintendo was counting on the 3DS XL to turn around its ailing fortunes and it looks like the oversized glasses-free 3D console may well do that. The Japanese company is yet to confirm actual sales following the domestic launch, but Enterbrain estimates indicate sales of the 3DS XL beat some of Nintendo’s previous portables in the first few days of availability, Famitsu reports.

According to Enterbrain research, Nintendo sold 193,441 units on July 28 and July 29 2012. Software sales were similarly brisk, it’s believed, with New Super Mario Bros. 2, also released at the same point, hitting 430,185 copies in the first two days.

In contrast, Nintendo sold 170,000 units of the DSi in the same length of time back when that console launched in Japan. Original Nintendo 3DS sales were more brisk, however, with the company apparently getting through 400,000 units in the first 24hrs of availability.

That interest quickly waned, though, with Nintendo forced to slash the price of the 3DS in order to make it a compelling proposition for gamers, developers and retailers. The company claims it does not make a loss on each 3DS XL, unlike the 3DS, however.
