Alleged iPhone 5 spotted in the wild

iPhone 5 caseIt’s time to kick start the last working day of the week with yet another iPhone 5-related article. According to reports online, more images of the alleged iPhone 5 have surfaced online, this time showing off the device in a case. No word on how the case manufacturers got their hands on the phone but rumor has it that it is a prototype unit that has been smuggled out of Foxconn. Regardless, we have no way to verify the source, but judging by how it looks, previous rumors about the device seem on the spot.

Taller device (it certainly looks more elongated than the current iPhone 4/4S, but there isn’t any phone for comparison in the photograph, we see a smaller dock connector on the bottom of the phone, as well as a headphone jack next to it. We still can’t say for sure if this will be the final design of the next iPhone, but the number of leaks and rumors in the past seem to corroborate with what we see here. Then again Apple could reveal something completely different when it announces the iPhone 5 this year.

Heads up PlayStation gamers, if you’ve yet to play Grand Theft Auto 3 or if you’re simply looking to relive some memories of the good old days before Grand Theft Auto 5 hits the shelves (still no word on release yet, unfortunately), you’ll be pleased to learn that GTA3 will be headed onto Sony’s PSN on the 31st of July and will cost you $9.99. The game will be the same as the PlayStation 2 version, so don’t expect to find new and higher quality textures or graphics, but should prove to be just as entertaining as it was back then anyway, we hope.

Total Recall video game arrives on iOS and Android for $1.99

In case you weren’t born or were too young back in the 1990s, there was a movie with Arnold Schwarzenegger in it dubbed Total Recall. Zuckerberg says Facebook phone “wouldn’t make much sense”

Earlier this week we mentioned rumors of Facebook and HTC were reportedly working on a smartphone to debut sometime next year. Neither Facebook nor HTC confirmed it, and now we’re hearing that Mark Zuckerberg himself stated on Thursday’s earnings call that there’s actually no existence of a Facebook phone. He said it wouldn’t make any sense for the company to launch its own smartphone.

“There are lots of things that you can build in other operating systems as well that aren’t really building out a whole phone, which I think really wouldn’t make much sense for us to do,” Zuckerberg said. “We want to support a development ecosystem where other apps can build on top of Facebook.”

Zuckerberg explained that Facebook was more focused on being integrated with other smartphones as much as possible rather than on creating a whole new smartphone. But that doesn’t completely rule out the possibility that the company could be working on its own operating system.

The Facebook founder’s denial of a new smartphone still comes as a bit of a Facebook facepalm for the rest of us after months of developing rumors and all these designer mockups of a future Facebook phone, which now seems to have been completely thrown out the window. But whatever the social network has in store for us next, Zuckerberg still seems to have made it quite clear that it most certainly will have a lot to do with mobile.

AT&T’s HTC One X rumored to have its price reduced to $99

The HTC One X is a pretty impressive device on paper and is probably one of the more powerful Android smartphones out there to date. Assuming the rumors are to be believed, it has been said that AT&T is expected to drop the price of the One X down to a very affordable $99 on contract very soon. This information was “leaked” via the XDA forums by an XDA member claiming to be an AT&T rep. Needless to say in this digital age we live in and the ability to hide our identities behind screen names, anyone can claim to be who they are, or at least who they pretend to be. What this means, in case it wasn’t already obvious, is that you should probably take this with a grain of salt for now, at least until more concrete evidence can be uncovered. Either way we will be keeping an eye out for a possible announcement, so be sure to stay tuned and check back with us for more updates and to see if the rumor pans out! Hypothetically speaking though, who’s excited at the prospect of a $99 HTC One X?

Each Xbox 360 controller bra is handpainted with permanent paints. It’s definitely an interesting bra, especially since the full details can only be seen once you get comfortable in your underwear. It could also be worn to a sexy geek costume party. You’ll definitely be ogled by geeks a plenty in this bra!

Club Lion Force Voltron Action Figures Form One Expensive Robot

I have failed you. I have failed us all. Last year Matty Collector offered a Club Lion Force subscription, which entitled customers to receive action figures of the Voltron Lions together with their pilots. And yes, when all the Lions are complete…

voltron club lion force matty collector

That is a 23″ Voltron robot, and this is where I fail you. I didn’t spot this offering soon enough, and unfortunately the Club Lion Force subscription is sold out. Fortunately Matty Collector also made each Lion available for individual purchase. Unfortunately three of the Lions – the Green, Yellow and Red – are already sold out. Fortunately there are units being sold on eBay. Unfortunately they’re more expensive there. Enough. I’ve taken your heart through enough punishment. It’s time for your brain to explode:

The replay killed me. As I said, there’s still a chance for you to form feet and legs and the right arm if you head to eBay. The last two lions, the Blue and the Black, will be available from Matty Collector this August and October, respectively.

Austrian daredevil jumps from a balloon 96,640 feet in the air

Austrian professional skydiver and BASE jumper Felix Baumgartner will be the perfect fit for a daredevil. For Baumgartner, it’s all about pushing limits. Apparently bagging the world records for the highest parachute jump from the Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur and the lowest BASE jump from the Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio de Janeiro wasn’t enough for him. On Wednesday this week, he attempted to break the world record for the highest skydive by jumping off from a balloon approximately 96,640 feet (29,456 meters) above the earth.

Baumgartner went free-falling for approximately 3 minutes and 48 seconds, with a top speed of 536 mph (863 kph), before launching his parachute. After 10 minutes and 30 seconds of gliding, he safely landed. Baumgartner’s main goal, however, is a space jump from 125,000 feet (38,100 m) in the coming months. The current world record for highest-altitude skydive is at 102,800 feet (31,333 m) and it was achieved by U.S. Air Force Captain Joe Kittinger in 1960. Interestingly, Captain Kittinger is also an adviser for Baumgartner’s Red Bull Stratos Mission.
