‘Milkshake Murder’: Cheating Wife Kills Her Husband With Sleeping Pills On ‘Behind Mansion Walls’ (VIDEO)

It was a twisted murder by milkshake on the latest episode of “Behind Mansion Walls” (Thu., 9 p.m. ET on ID). Rob and Nancy Kissel seemed to be the perfect couple. They were happy and successful. But it just wasn’t enough for Nancy.

She cheated on her husband, but when he caught her in the affair, she made a chilling decision. She decided she wanted to have it all: both the material wealth of her husband and the romantic entanglements of her lover. So she concocted a plan to kill her husband.

She laced a milkshake with sleeping pills, which knocked her husband into a deep sleep. But rather than let poison or pills take him out, Nancy took on the task by hand, beating him to death with a blunt object.

Makerbot-Forged Mixtape Is the Most Nostalgic Way to Spread Music Love [Video]

Before sharing a playlist of songs with a crush was as simple as a few clicks, the mixtape was a labor of love; a time-consuming project. Every song was carefully considered. That’s all gone now, of course, but this DIY MP3 player conjured up by MakerBot can help bring it back. More »

Water strider-like robot jumps on water

There has been a reported instance of a man in the past who jumps on water while carrying two weights – one in each hand, having picked up that snippet of information from the Giant Book of Fantastic Facts. Well, researchers have managed to come up with this particular robot which is capable of jumping on water in a way that is similar to that of a water strider. This is definitely not the first robot which will mimic the water-gliding insect’s skating motion, but it is the first of its kind which is capable of bouncing across a body of water. What are some of the practical applications of such a robot? Since it is able to maneuver nimbly on a pond or lake surface, it will also be able to see action when it comes to pollution monitoring or surveillance missions.

Specially designed by engineer Jie Zhao and his colleagues from China’s Harbin Institute of Technology, this particular water jumping robot measures six inches in length and tips the scales at approximately the weight of a wooden pencil, and for comparison’s sake, it is around 1,000 times the weight of an actual water strider. This robot still loses out to real water striders in terms of speed and agility though.

Richard (RJ) Eskow: The Nakedness Of Their Greed

It’s truly unbelievable: At no time in modern memory has the privileged class been richer, the middle class more endangered, or the number of people in poverty been so high. And yet the Republican Party, whose leaders are overwhelmingly wealthy themselves, is openly and shamelessly proposing to give more tax cuts to millionaires and billionaires – including heirs and heiresses who have done nothing to earn their riches – while actually raising taxes on millions of poor and middle class people.

There will be a time to engage in argument. But first let’s take a moment to gaze in wonder at the nakedness of their greed.

Okay, moment’s up. Now it’s time for the argument.

North Korean media reports North Koreans love North Korean tablet

North Korean media reports North Koreans love North Korean tablet

Remember those futuristic PCs we reported North Korea was producing last year? Well now the Democratic People’s Republic has unveiled a seven-inch flagship tablet called the Achim (Morning). Understandably, we don’t know what’s inside this 0.66-pound (300g) device with a five-hour battery life, but it’s apparently very popular with local students. There’s no word on the OS either, but a touch-friendly build of the homegrown Linux variant Red Star would make sense. Although unconfirmed, sources suggest internet connectivity is wholly absent, with a pre-loaded selection of fun, state-approved content available instead. Eager to get your hands on a Kim Jong-unPad? Well, you can’t.

Instagram drops ‘Find Twitter Friends’ feature

The $1 billion dollar company Instagram, which was purchased by Facebook in recent times, has said that they will be dropping the ‘Find Twitter Friends’ feature, as those who were looking for their friends through their Twitter contacts were unable to do so today. TechCrunch noted that Twitter has already removed Instagram’s access to its API, and this particular change has also gone into effect with the most recent Instagram app update. Before the app update was released, Instagram users were able to pick the “Twitter friends” option under “Find friends”, and Instagram will continue to go through the selected Twitter account so that they can look for followers on the photo service. After applying the update though, doing so will result in a pop-up message whenever they tap “Twitter friends,” which will result in “Twitter no longer allows its users to access this information in Instagram via the Twitter API. We apologize for any inconvenience.”

The change will affect the iOS and Android versions of Instagram in this case, but bear in mind that complete Twitter/Instagram integration has not yet been fully removed, since users can still continue to post photos to Twitter using Instagram. The folks over at Twitter has yet to comment on the situation.

Apple iPad prototypes revealed in court docs

Say what you will about the state of patent disputes in America these days. There are of course companies that specialize in securing patents for the sole purpose of suing companies who end up actually putting those ideas to some sort of commercial use, and then there are frivolous battles between competing manufacturers. And finally, the minority of cases involve actual theft of intellectual property. But regardless of the circumstances, it’s always cool when these cases shed insights into the design process of a product.

Such has been the case with the rampant series of tablet-related patent lawsuits, many of which involve Apple (that’s of course because many of them have been filed by Apple). As a result, a lot of previously undisclosed information becomes part of the public record. For example, early prototypes of the iPad and iPhone have made their way through the court process, and are just beginning to be filtered through to the mainstream media.

As part of a series of court documents, Apple has released a bunch of images of prototype versions of the iPad. It seems the most common feature among early renditions of the device included a kickstand to encourage docile playback of videos and music. There is also an early 16:9 widescreen model as well as a unit with handles on either side of the tablet device. In other words, Apple went through a lot of design possibilities before settling on the iPad we know and love today. More can be seen in the “via” link below.
