Scalp Stimulating Hair Rejuvenator

We’ve seen a Hands Free Hair Rejuvenator in the past, but that model was a whole lot more expensive than the $219.95 Scalp Stimulating Hair Rejuvenator that you see here. I would say that this model is definitely not as space age as the previously mentioned device, as you will need to keep your hands occupied as you massage it through your scalp to promote healthy hair via deep-pore cleansing, whether you are in the shower or standing right in front of the bathroom mirror. I would say that in these times of economic hardship, it makes perfect sense to cut back on a few hundred dollars’ worth of expenses which could be better invested elsewhere, while you get a little bit of extra exercise for your hands.

The pulsating brushes on this waterproof Scalp Stimulating Hair Rejuvenator will help purge your scalp of oils and impurities, at the same time stimulate circulation to deliver healing nutrients to hair. It has even undergone the purview of the American Academy of Dermatology, which realized that effective cleaning of the scalp will do its part to remove oily buildup – a key factor for healthier, better-looking hair. When you use it in tandem with the included massaging brush, the device will relieve tension around the scalp, help reduce stress and mitigate the effects of headaches. Charging it offers diminishing returns however, where it takes two hours to juice it up, resulting in just a quartet of five-minute treatments. What gives?

Huawei Ascend G330 appears at IFA, looking for smartphone first-timers (hands-on)

Huawei Ascend 330 appears at IFA, looking for smartphone firsttimers handson

Perhaps obscured by Huawei’s other new — and bigger –smartphone, the Ascend G330 also made its first appearance here in Berlin. For a smaller price tag (200 euros, around $250) you’ll be getting a slightly humbler 4-inch smartphone, with a 1GHz dual-core processor and up to 5.76 Mbps through its HSPA connection. The 800 x 480 TFT screen is noticeably jaggier than Huawei‘s other new devices, but for an entry-level model, we’ve seen plenty worse. It’s also aided by Android Ice Cream Sandwich, offering a more up-to-date mobile OS experience than existing starter smartphones. There’s a 5-megapixel camera on the back, while a 1,500mAh battery resides under the cover. The phone will land in Europe this November, in the single Black Matte option you’ll find in our gallery below.

LCD and E-ink dual-screen prototypes show up at IFA, one vendor already said to be on board

LCD and Eink dualscreen prototypes show up at IFA, one vendor already said to be on board

Well hells bells, it was only yesterday that the idea of an e-ink / LCD screen mash-up device was the stuff of patent dreams, and now it’s a reality. The chaps at Stuff were shown the prototype handsets at a closed meeting at IFA, as expected with a regular screen on one side, and the e-reader-style display on the other. E-ink was apparently tight lipped about possible vendor interest, but they did confirm that one firm was working with the concept already. We’re not about to make any leaps, but if we’d applied for the patent, we’d also want first dibs.

Unknown iPad identifiers show up in developer logs, could this be the iPad mini?

There has been a lot of rumors surrounding the iPad mini, such as how the name itself, originally coined through the rumors, has been “confirmed” by Apple. Well if you’re still a skeptic, and rightly so, here’s one more piece of evidence that might suggest that the iPad mini is for real. Instapaper’s developer, Marco Arment, discovered that recently two “curious entries” were spotted in Instapaper’s device stats and were revealed to be the “iPad2,5” and “iPad2,6” identifiers.

As it stands, the identifiers go up to “iPad2,4” at the moment which is basically the iPad 2 WiFi model with the new 32mn process manufactured A5 chip. It is possible that these two identifiers would be the CDMA and GSM versions of the iPad 2, but Arment believes that isn’t the case as it is pretty late into the product’s lifecycle and would be an unusual move by Apple. In any case this is hardly confirmation but it is still interesting to note and according to Arment, he’s “never had a device show up [on the logs] that didn’t end up being a real, about-to-be-released Apple device.” What do you guys think?

Harman Kardon Soundsticks updated with Bluetooth integration for wireless playback

If you thought that you stumbled upon an archive based on the image above, don’t worry because this is still 2012 and those are indeed the Harman Kardon Soundsticks. We know it’s been years since the Soundsticks were revealed but it looks like they have gotten a slight upgrade and are now wireless, allowing users to enjoy the same iconic design, presumably the same sound quality but with the added bonus of it being Bluetooth enabled, allowing users to pair their mobile phones or laptops (that are Bluetooth enabled) with the speakers. The rest of its specs includes a 6” subwoofer, eight full-range drivers, touch controls for adjusting volume and muting, and the ability to output 40 watts of amplification. So if you’d like to own an iconic piece of technology, perhaps these updated Harman Kardon Soundsticks might be of interest to you.

This concept gadget will turn your waste paper into pencils

Recycling seems to be the buzzword these days and if you’ve got a stack of papers lying around that you’d rather not just throw away, here’s an interesting way to recycle them. Chinese industrial designers Chengzhu Ruan, Yuanyuan Liu, Xinwei Yuan and Chao Chen have come up with an interesting concept that will take your pile of papers (printing errors, memos no longer applicable, etc.) and feed them into the machine pictured above. The machine will then tightly roll up the paper inserted around a piece of lead and there you have it, an instant pencil! Given the digital age we’re living in, pencils might seem a little dated, but reassured as there is still plenty of real world usage left in them. In any case it’s a pretty novel concept but if anything it will let you create some pretty unique looking pencils! So, any takers?

Boombotix Bluetooth Street Speaker

Do you remember the singer Shaggy with his mega hit many years ago, Mr. Bombastic? Well, that certainly set off a trend in speak-nging (speaking/singing, you heard it here first!), and I guess that “better late than never” applies to the Boombotix Bluetooth Street Speaker. The Gunmetal Grey and Purplex Purple colors will retail for £49.99, while those who want something different can settle for the Camouflage and Carbon Fiber make up which will cost you 10 quid more, that is £59.99. So, what can the Boombotix Bluetooth Street Speaker deliver in terms of performance?

Touted to fuse urban style with quality audio, the Boombotix Street Speaker relies on Bluetooth connectivity to hook up to your media playback devices. You can clip it to your belt, slip it in a bag or hook it up to a bike, and voila – here you are, a veritable, walking library of tunes that you can share with the rest of the world. Of course, who are we to stop you from just leaving it perched on your desk? That’d be defeating the purpose of its existence though, as if you settle for the latter, you might as well purchase a more decent set of desktop speakers.

Offering up to 8 hours of non-stop audio playback, the battery requires approximately a full hour to recharge. It is also showerproof, and despite being wireless, an aux input is there just in case you have non-Bluetooth devices that want to share the music love.

Motorola Droid RAZR M caught on video

The other we reported that photos of the Motorola Droid RAZR M was leaked, and while photos are a great way of seeing how the phone looks like, a video would probably be better as we will get to see how well it handles. Sure, handling it yourself will probably be a better idea, but until the phone has been officially announced, we guess a video will have to do. The phone itself looks pretty decent in real life and also appears to be quite responsive which will most definitely be welcome by potential customers. Unfortunately no release date has been given yet but if you like what you see so far, check out the video above to see the phone in action and stay tuned as we will keep you updated on its release date.

ZTE Grand X IN Intel-powered Android smartphone revealed

Intel is a bit late to the mobile game but it seems like they’re trying to edge their way into the market. If you’re wondering how an Intel-powered device compares to Qualcomm or NVIDIA, you might have a chance to find out as ZTE has announced the Grand X IN, adding to the list of other Intel devices such as the Santa Clara and the Lava XOLO X900. If the name sounds familiar, it’s because the ZTE Grand X has been announced in the past, although the main difference here is that the IN version will be using Intel’s Medfield processor instead (hence the IN).

As far as the specs go, it will run on Intel’s Atom Z2460 chip with 1GB of RAM, a 4.3” qHD display, 4GB of internal storage that can be expanded via microSD, an 8MP rear-facing camera, a 0.3MP front-facing camera and will run on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. It is expected to head to Europe this September but there was no mention if and when it will be making its way stateside, but we’ll keep our eyes peeled so stay tuned for updates!
