InSync Transport Case charges 16 iPads simultaneously

I am quite sure that your current household, even if they are Apple crazy and love all things from Cupertino, would not have 16 iPads in total. A dorm would do much better in this department, where everyone chips in their fair share of money for the $645 InSync Transport Case. Yes sir, this unique looking mult-iPad charger from Parat Solutions will be able to power up to 16 thirsty and power hungry iPads simultaneously, not to mention sparing yet another space to plug in your (Apple) notebook, too – now how about that for multi-tasking?

There is a mains cable that comes with this puppy so that you are able to plug the case into the wall, charging everything else up within the fastest time possible. Not only that, since the InSync Transport Case looks rather rugged, it is capable of supporting your weight (if you are not obese) when you sit on it, making this an impromptu place for you to sit down comfortably at airports while the rest of the world waits standing up.

Myanmar: Government Ends Censorship Of Local Media

YANGON, Myanmar (AP) — Myanmar’s government said Monday it was abolishing the harsh practice of directly censoring the country’s media, the most dramatic move yet toward allowing freedom of expression in the long-repressed nation.

Under the new rules, journalists will no longer have to submit their work to state censors before publication as they for almost half a century. However, deep concerns remain about restrictive press laws remaining on the books, which give the government great power to crack down on journalists and even close publications deemed a threat to national security.

This Southeast Asian nation’s reporters had long been regarded as among the most restricted in the world. But President Thein Sein’s reformist government has significantly relaxed media controls over the last year, allowing reporters to print material that would have been unthinkable during the era of absolute military rule — like photographs of opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi.

An Unserious Man

Mitt Romney’s choice of Paul Ryan as his running mate led to a wave of pundit accolades. Now, declared writer after writer, we’re going to have a real debate about the nation’s fiscal future. This was predictable: never mind the Tea Party, Mr. Ryan’s true constituency is the commentariat, which years ago decided that he was the Honest, Serious Conservative, whose proposals deserve respect even if you don’t like him.

But he isn’t and they don’t. Ryanomics is and always has been a con game, although to be fair, it has become even more of a con since Mr. Ryan joined the ticket.

Marilyn Stowe: Emotions Run High: Stereotypical Reactions To Divorce

Let’s face it; divorce attorneys don’t enjoy a great reputation. I have always thought this to be more than a bit unfair, because we do care about our clients and their well-being. We never see clients at their best; in fact, we usually see them at rock bottom as we try to help them through one of the worst experiences of their lives.

But what happens when the client finally turns the key in the lock, after the final papers have been signed, and is home alone? There is no one to speak to, no one with whom to exchange the briefest “hello”. There is no one to go out with. Even the arguments, however unpleasant, were a form of social contact. Now it’s all ended.

How long does it really take to get over a divorce? The process is far from straightforward, and many can struggle with emotional turmoil during the process and for years to come. Over the past three decades in legal practice, I’ve seen the reactions of hundreds of people and spotted many patterns of behavior.

Bioshock themed custom pinball machine

In life, there are themes all around us – a themed party, for instance, or how about a certain theme for a notable event in your life? Well, having video game themes around us are nothing new, but here is something that Bioshock fans might just fall in love with. We are talking about the efforts of DIY enthusiast “rasmadrak” who hails from Sweden, coming up with this rather interesting Bioshock-themed custom pinball machine that sports plenty of neat little touches from Rapture, ranging from Little Sister vents to its fair number of Big Daddy homages. Not only that, two different systems – Arduino and chipKIT are used to cobble this particularly impressive DIY effort, but I guess you will not be able to find this for sale anywhere else in the world since this is a one off creation.

Cowon's X9 PMP now shipping, features up to 110 hours of music playback

The latest addition to Cowon’s line of portable media players is reaching consumers’ hands in the good, old US of A as shipping is now underway for the X9. The PMP — which comes in either black or white — measures 72.5mm wide, 114.9mm tall and weighs in at 159 grams. It also features a 4.3-inch touchscreen, your choice of either 8GB, 16GB or 32GB of internal flash memory, as well as a MicroSD slot. Although good sound quality is typically Cowon’s calling card, the X9 also serves up a healthy helping of battery life with the company claiming up to 110 hours of music playback. Operating time when watching video is said to be up to 13 hours while charging time takes 4.5 hours via AC adapter and 6 hours when juicing through a USB connection. Supported file formats include MP3, WMA, OGG, FLAC, APE, WAV, XviD, WMV and ASF. Unlike the Plenue Z2 and the D3, the X9 opts out of using the Android OS — which is either good or bad depending on one’s preferences. Its 480 x 272 resolution is also decidedly lower than, say, the 800 x 480 seen in the Z2’s 3.7-inch screen. As for cost, folks interested in getting the X9 will have to lighten their wallets to the tune of $229.99. For more details, check out the Cowon site via the link below.

Magic Carpet helps children with leg disabilities to be more independent

When we talk about a ‘Magic Carpet’, most of us would think about some scene in the Arabian desert, where there is this streetwise kid who goes by the moniker Aladdin performing close escapes from the palace guards while managing to capture the most valuable jewel in the kingdom – that of the Sultan’s daughter’s heart. Well, this self-proclaimed magic carpet is far removed from such lofty imaginations, but it is no less a wonder, thanks to the efforts of the folks over at the Polytechnic University who concocted this device. Basically, the Magic Carpet device will give children with leg disabilities the opportunity to be able to experience moving about independently, giving them the chance to practice at the same time. The Sony Xperia SL which has been spotted in three different colors already (the customary pink and silver included, of course) as well as confirmed in a benchmark test to carry a 1.7GHz dual-core processor has finally been seen online, on its official page no less. Here is the skinny on the Sony Xperia SL, where the entire device tips the scales at 144 grams, measuring 5″ x 2.5″ x 0.4″, in addition to a 4.3″ touchscreen TFT display that boasts of scratch resistant qualities at 1,280 x 720 pixels, a 12.1-megapixel camera with auto focus coupled with 16x digital zoom and LED flash, not to mention having Google’s Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system run right out of the box. You have four colors to choose from – black, white, pink or silver. The thing is, we would very much like to know more about its availability and pricing details, but unfortunately, those do seem to be lacking, even on Sony Mobile’s site. I guess patience will be able to help us answer more of our questions this time around.
