‘Mob Wives: Chicago’ Finale: Nora Exhumes Her Father’s Body To Confirm That It’s Him (VIDEO)

It took four years, but finally Nora Schweihs was on the cusp of getting the closure she needed regarding her father’s death. Did he get a proper burial? In other words, was the body in his casket really him? On the season finale of “Mob Wives: Chicago” (Sun., 8 p.m. ET on VH1), the funeral director agreed to exhume his body to get a positive ID.

Without DNA tests, the funeral director told Nora that he couldn’t make a positive ID on the body, so Nora decided to do it herself. She simply felt she couldn’t wait any longer. Unfortunately, though, Nora had no better luck identifying his remains after four years.

“I’m supposed to have closure today after four years and now I have to wait another two to three weeks?” she said, exasperated. But she’d come this far, so she toughed it out.

Best Buy names Hubert Joly as new CEO, will take on leadership in September

Best Buy names Hubert Joly as new CEO, will take on leadership in SeptemberIt’s been a rough year for Best Buy — it’s shuttered dozens of stores, seen its founder step down and even lost its CEO, Brian Dunn. Still, the big box retailer hasn’t given up hope, and today chose a new chief executive, one Hubert Joly. Until Sunday afternoon, Joly was responsible for Carlson, a hospitality and travel outfit that operates hotels and restaurants in over 150 countries. If you’ve eaten at a TGI Friday’s, you’ve patronized Joly’s old firm. Best Buy seems optimistic, according to the Wall Street Journal, noting that Joly has a knack for turning around companies in trouble. Still, Best Buy will have to get along without its new head honcho until September — the new boss is French, and is apparently waiting on a visa. In the meantime, Mike Mikan will continue to serve as interim CEO, presumably helping the board of directors sift through Richard Schulze $10 billion rescue plan.

Micromax Superfone Canvas A100 smartphone offers 5-inch display at a bargain

Phablets could very well be the new niche market that smartphone manufacturers might want to look into, thanks to the efforts by Samsung which resulted in the Samsung Galaxy Note, followed by the impending release of its sequel, the Galaxy Note 2. Well, the name Micromax might not register on anyone’s radar, considering the rather oxymoronic nature of the name, but here they are with the Micromax Superfone Canvas A100 that sports a rather generous 5-inch LCD display that places it in phablet territory, in addition to having Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich running right out of the box. Lenovo LePhone K860 quad-core Android smartphone announced

At the end of June, just right before we entered into the month of July, we talked about the Lenovo LePhone K860 as well as the smartphone being on the receiving end of a quad-core Samsung Exynos processor, and it is nice to see that the smartphone has just been made official by the folks over at Lenovo, although two of the more important details – pricing and availability, remain unavailable.

In theory, the Lenovo LePhone K860 should be a rather interesting smartphone in terms of specifications. After all, apart from the rather speedy quad-core Exynos processor from Samsung, we too, do see the LePhone K860 featuring a rather generous 5-inch HD display, 1GB RAM, an 8-megapixel camera with 100 shot burst mode and 1080p video recording capability, as well as Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich as the operating system of choice right out of the box. Not only that, a rather beefy 2,250mAh battery will keep the Lenovo LePhone K860 going, so it should be able to last you the whole day before requiring a trip to the nearest power adapter.

Students With Special Needs Staying In Traditional Public Schools

LOS ANGELES — The high cost of educating students with special needs is disproportionately falling on traditional public schools as other students increasingly opt for alternatives that aren’t always readily open to those requiring special education.

The issue is particularly acute in districts where enrollment has declined due to demographic changes such as low birth rates and population shifts combined with an influx of charter schools and voucher programs that have siphoned off students.

‘Married To Jonas’ Premiere: Nick Spearheads Discussion About Sister-In-Law Getting Pregnant (VIDEO)

We’re only one episode in and already baby fever seems to be striking hard on “Married to Jonas” (Sun., 10 p.m. ET on E!). While this in and of itself is not a huge surprise when dealing with a newlywed couple, it’s a little different when neither Kevin nor his wife, Danielle, were the ones having the conversation.

Well, they were having it in as much as they were at the table when it was happening, but it wasn’t their conversation. And that was a little weird. In fact, it was brother Nick who seemed to be ready to plan out the entire pregnancy and both Kevin and Danielle’s roles in it, down to how much time Kevin needed to spend at home with her toward the end of her pregnancy.

Finally, though, Danielle took control of the whole situation — it is her womb after all, as WetPaint reminded us — by declaring that maybe they should hold off on expanding the Jonas clan. Maybe until after everyone else in the family is a lot less interested in their baby-making schedule.

Kaitlin Nootbaar, Oklahoma High School Valedictorian, Denied Diploma For Using ‘Hell’ In Speech

Kaitlin Nootbaar, a straight-A Oklahoma high school student, is being denied her diploma because she used the word “hell” in her graduation speech as valedictorian, and she and her parents are furious.

In delivering her address during the Prague High School graduation ceremony in May, the teen alluded to instances where people would ask her what she wanted to do with her life as graduation approached, to which she said, “How the hell do I know? I’ve changed my mind so many times,” her father David Nootbaar told KFOR.

The statement received laughter and applause from her fellow graduates, her father said. But when Kaitlin went to collect her diploma this week, school officials said they won’t release the certificate until she writes an apology for using the word.

Book encoded in DNA

We do know that DNA are veritable biological libraries, holding their fair share of information, but here is a novel way of making use of them. Researchers have managed to encode a full book in DNA, which would make this achievement the largest amount of information stored on the biological medium to date. Just what kind of data has been encoded? Well, the digital version of the book comprises of over 50,000 words, 11 images and a solitary computer program, with the amount of data weighing in at around 0.7MB. This project is led by George Church of Harvard Medical School, relying on off-the-shelf technology.

According to this bunch of scientists, DNA has its fair advantages for data storage since it is three dimensional and extremely durable. Hasn’t DNA survived for a millennia, and unharmed to boot? Hey, the next time you want to know more about my work and portfolio, here is a strand of my hair – process it and you will receive all that you need to know.

Nintendo 3DS XL hits US for $199, comes with AC adapter

3DS XLThe Nintendo 3DS XL has finally arrived in North America, where it will cost you a couple of Benjamins (that’s $199.99 for the uninitiated), and it goes one up over its Japanese and European brethren considering how it will include the missing AC adapter. As the name of the Nintendo 3DS XL suggests, this handheld console will come with a larger display as well as a better battery life, with a copy of New Super Mario Bros. 2 to get you started right out of the box.

GoNintendo has one word of advice for you though – it would bode well for you to perform a backup of your 3DS SD memory card before you perform a transfer over to the new Nintendo 3DS XL, as users who did not do that did report a permanent loss of eShop content and save files, which are major bummers considering the number of hours you might have possibly invested into your game(s) by then. Good thing content can be re-downloaded again.
