Toshiba quits Windows RT tablet race

Toshiba has thrown in the towel at the moment in the race to release a new Windows RT-powered tablet device, claiming that they are experiencing delays in receiving components, and hence will opt itself out of the tablet market that runs on Microsoft’s upcoming mobile operating system of Windows. Having said that, this one horse that has dropped out of the race would mean that other manufacturing partners who will be selling Windows RT tablets, such as Asus, Dell, Lenovo, and Samsung, should be happy that there is one less competition to deal with. Pinterest arrives on Android platform and the iPad, too

I am quite sure that you have heard of Pinterest by now, where this particular app has finally made its way to the Android operating system, not to mention being released for the iPad to boot. The long (actually, the wait is not all that long considering how relatively ‘young’ Pinterest is in the app scene) wait is finally over, as the official Pinterest app for Android and the iPad were launched, where the former boasts of a complete redesign from the ground up. It has been in the pipeline for quite some time already, so it is rather good that the final toil of the Pinterest team’s labor has finally borne fruit. It is worth mentioning that previous rumors about Pinterest for Android arriving late last month at Google’s I/O developers conference proved otherwise, but better late than never – what do you think?

Those who want Pinterest for Android can pick it up from Google Play, while Pinterest for iPad and the updated iPhone app can be downloaded over at the App Store.

Netflix Watch Instantly streaming coming to Norway, Denmark, Sweden and Finland this year

Netflix mentioned during its most recent earnings call that it had identified an attractive European market to launch its streaming video service in during Q4 2012 and now we know where that is: Norway, Denmark, Sweden and Finland. There’s no word yet on pricing or which devices the service will be available on, but Nordic viewers can expect the usual assortment of movies and TV shows for a flat rate, with many available in HD and surround sound. Judging by the languages of support personnel Netflix was looking for last year, Asia is next on its world domination map (after Canada, Latin America and UK & Ireland) although how investors will react to the hit expansion makes on its earnings in the short term.
