ATLANTA — This should be interesting.
Tiger Woods is four shots back. Rory McIlroy is three shots back. And a man that controls his own destiny – Brandt Snedeker – is tied for the lead.

Annie Marie Chaker (via Philip Bump) writes in the Wall Street Journal about Americans’ burgeoning taste for avocados, which have exploded beyond the confines of guacamole into a multipurpose treat. This is, as she notes, partially just a fad and partially a fad driven by changing thinking about health, fat, “superfoods,” and the like.
But it’s also a trade policy story.
LOS ANGELES — Records could be set and hearts definitely will be broken at the Emmy Awards.
Sunday’s ceremony gives “Mad Men” a chance to snare its fifth best drama award, surpassing fellow record holders “Hill Street Blues,” “L.A. Law” and “The West Wing.”

After a rocky week that saw plenty of conservatives break away from Mitt Romney, New York Times columnist David Brooks summed up the state of affairs on Sunday.
As NBC’s “Meet The Press” roundtable dove into some data surrounding Romney’s popularity.
“Look at his high unfavorable ratings,” host David Gregory said. “At 50%. The highest of any candidate running in recent memory. This is an image problem that his philosophical statements in this speech in May to fundraisers only exacerbates.”

Every weekend we bring you a round up of either the best LGBT moments from the week before — our “Something To Celebrate” series — or, as you’ll see below, the worst anti-LGBT stories from the last seven days in our Know Thine Enemy feature.
You can think of Know Thine Enemy as a primer filled with the anti-LGBT rhetoric being leveled against us, as a reminder of how far we still have to go, and maybe even as a chance to have a laugh (because let’s be honest, some of this stuff is so ridiculous it’s pretty hilarious).
Check out the stories we covered this week below — all in one convenient slideshow — and let us know who you think the biggest enemy of the LGBT community was in the comments section.
CHICAGO — John Jay’s RBI double in the 10th inning lifted St. Louis over the Chicago Cubs 5-4 on Saturday, bolstering the Cardinals’ bid for another playoff appearance.
Carlos Beltran hit a tying solo homer in the ninth for the Cardinals, who began the day with a two-game lead over Los Angeles for the second NL wild-card spot. Milwaukee dropped 2 1/2 games.
For some reason, in Japan it’s become a popular pastime to stick odd little doo-dads into the empty headphone jack on smartphones and media players. While the utility of these things is somewhat questionable, there’s no argument that they’re fun little embellishments for your gadgets. But up until now, most of them have been too cutesy for my taste. That has now changed.
You see, these headphone jack plugs are designed to look like tiny Luchadors. Just snap them into your empty headphone jack, and a tiny wrestler will protect your phone from all who dare to take him on. While the’ll look pretty cool on most phones, the wrestler will look like he’s doing a headstand in my iPhone 5′s oddly-placed new headphone jack.
You can choose from five colored masks, including red, pink, yellow, blue and black. The Luchador headphone jack plugs sell for ¥630 (~$8 USD) over at Strapya World.
There’s nothing quite like having your birthday on a weekend. And while we’re sure that Android was out late last night, dining on sweets with its fellow mobile operating systems, we’d like to wish Google’s OS a very happy birthday. It was this day in 2008 that the Android team unveiled its 1.0 SDK, release 1 — a milestone that coincided with the announcement of T-Mobile’s G1, which would get the new OS into consumer hands around a month or so later, finally delivering the promise of a long rumored “Googlephone.” Android was a bit of a late bloomer, but now, toward the end of 2012 with 4.1 Jelly Bean beginning to bloom, it’s hard to remember a time when it wasn’t a dominate player in the ever more crowded mobile space. With that in mind, we’re raising a glass to you, Android — a glass of something sweet, naturally.
Android turns four, enthusiasm for dessert foods unabated originally appeared on Engadget on Sun, 23 Sep 2012 12:00:00 EDT. Please see our terms for use of feeds.

If you want to get a wall clock, you have all kinds of options. There are big digital ones, classic analog ones, but if you want one that’s really clever, the Flat Life Clock might be the way to go. More »
Before the silly X-2 and the XIII trilogy, the Final Fantasy franchise was known for rebooting itself with each iteration. Each game had a different battle system than the one that came before it and featured different characters as well. This decision lent the series a rich universe and opened our eyes on the possibilities of turn-based combat, but it also meant that our favorite characters would be left out when the next game came along. Which is why I’m very excited about this fan made mod of Final Fantasy VI (Final Fantasy III to the West), which brings together heroes and villains from the different Final Fantasy games.
Spanish is the first language of the unsung hero who is making this mod, so pardon me if I don’t get some of the details right. The modder calls the game Final Fantasy El Origen (Final Fantasy: The Origin), and it will include 14 playable characters from various FF games. It will have its own story and new skills for the characters. The game is based on the SNES version of Final Fantasy VI, which the modder chose because of the wide availability of SNES emulators, meaning a lot of people will be able to play the mod when it’s finished.
AUROOOONNNN Sorry. Aside from the playable heroes, other characters will also make cameos in the game. Check out the gameplay below:
Head to the mod’s website for more pictures and information. The modder also uploaded a trailer on YouTube, which has more information for those who can understand Spanish. I hope the modder succeeds in finishing the game. And I hope he includes a scene where Sabin teaches everyone how to suplex a train.
