Cry-on Series 3 Android collectible

Just what do you think of the Android mascot? I find it really cute and it can be suited up to accommodate many different situations, literally wearing a slew of hats for various festivals if you want it to. Well, here is another clever use of the Android mascot that comes in the form of the Cry-on Series 3 Android collectible. To put it in a nutshell, this is an Android Krylon spray paint which can be shaken, it might be able to motivate you into tagging your office wall. Don’t worry about getting caught in the act of vandalism, as there is no actual paint residing within, but it will still sound and look like it.

Word also has it that the shipments of Series 3 collectibles have cleared customs, and are ready to be sold to adoring masses. We are looking at a time frame of just days away from the Cry-on Series 3 Android collectible to be shipped to retailers, before your favorite delivery person drops it off at your doorsteps.

Red Sox Hand Struggling Rays 4th Straight Loss: Tampa Bay Falls Six Games Back In AL East

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Felix Doubront limited Tampa Bay’s sputtering offense to one hit over six innings and the Boston Red Sox rallied for a 7-5 victory that dealt another blow to the Rays’ fading playoff hopes on Tuesday.

Jacoby Ellsbury, Dustin Pedroia, James Loney, Jarrod Saltalamacchia and Ryan Lavarnway drove in runs for the Red Sox, who beat their AL East rivals for the second straight night, extending Tampa Bay’s losing streak to four games and dropping the third-place Rays six games behind the division-leading New York Yankees.

Sony announces Cosmic Red and Sapphire Blue PlayStation Vita variants

If Sony’s handheld wonder lacks the visual pop your discerning sense of style craves, you’re in luck: the Vita’s getting a new look. Sony teased a rainbow of colorful handhelds at TGS last year, but opted to launch the handheld in a classic black facade and added a white version back at E3 that is slated for October. Now, the outfit has revealed two new options: “cosmic red” and “sapphire blue.” The details on pricing and availability are still coming in, but the pair will hit shelves in Japan on November 15th. In the meantime we’ll offer details for US and Europe as soon as they become available.

German government discourages Internet Explorer browser use due to bug

Remember how a temporary Internet Explorer bug fix was pushed to the masses yesterday by Microsoft? Well, knowing German efficiency, it is most likely that the government does not want to take any chances with computers in the country getting compromised, hence the German government has issued word to the public to stop using Microsoft’s Internet Explorer browser temporarily, at least until the bug is fixed so that PCs will no longer be vulnerable to hacker attacks, at least from that perspective.

According to the German government’s Federal Office for Information Security, or BSI in short, they are aware of targeted attacks and all it takes is the simple act of luring Web surfers to a website where hackers had previously planted malicious software which are able to exploit the bug. A statement was recorded, where “a fast spreading of the code has to be feared.” Are you still rocking to Internet Explorer?

Sony pushing PlayStation Plus to Vita this November, existing users already in

PlayStation Vita owners will get access this November to the promised PlayStation Plus program, previously exclusive to Sony’s PlayStation 3 console. Like on PS3, Vita PS Plus subscribers will get “free games, receive discounts for select titles, and enjoy other benefits unique to the service.” Sony detailed some of those unique benefits on its US blog, including “Instant Game Collection” (free games), “Discounts” (um … discounts), “Online Game Storage” (1GB of cloud storage for game saves and DLC), “Automatic Updates” (auto-start and download/install of game demos and updates), and “Automatic Trophy sync” (which syncs your earned Trophies to PSN). In so many words, it’s exactly what you get on the PS3, but on the Vita. When it launches this November, it’ll come in a few pricing options: 90 days for $18 or one year for $50 (30 day subs are locked to Asia). Folks who already have subscriptions on the PS3 will get PlayStation Plus on Vita included in their existing subscription, which seems perfectly swell if you ask us.

ZTE Grand Era U985 smartphone has quad-core processor, bound for China debut

China-based ZTE has, on paper, a power packed smartphone in the pipeline, but it seems as though it will be released in China only without any outward sign that a US rollout is imminent. The hardware specifications do pack a punch at first glance, with the Grand Era U985 running on a quad-core Tegra 3 processor, where it is accompanied by a 4.5″ 720p display alongside an 8-megapixel camera located at the back. Since it will be released in China, the ZTE Grand Era U985 smartphone will support local TD-SCDMA networks.

According to ZTE, they say that the Grand Era U985 is the slimmest quad-core smartphone, but extravagant claims need to be inspected closer, and if you were to take the ZTE Grand Era U985 at its slimmest point, then 7.9mm would beat out the rest of the field, but bear in mind that it has an all-round 8.6 mm thickness across its body. Legalists would say that the LG Optimus G wins hands down with an all-round thickness of a mere 8.45mm. There is no word on pricing just yet. [Press Release]

Windows Phone 7.8 Beta ROM for HTC HD7 released

Windows Phone 7.8 is said to offer a semblance of what Windows Phone 8 is all about for Windows Phone-powered devices that will not be getting the Windows Phone 8 upgrade, and the venerable HTC HD7 is privileged to receive the Windows Phone 7.8 Beta ROM recently, making it the very first Windows Phone 7.8 Beta ROM to boot. This particular ROM release is known by its build number of 7.10.8835.35, although it has its roots from a Tango 12180 dump from a Nokia device. There was minimal testing done before the Beta ROM was released, so you can be sure that this is far from the finished article.

Do remember to proceed at your own risk if you are interested, and be prepared for a very raw Windows Phone 7.8 experience since there will be no support for homebrew apps, although you can always opt to re-flash your HTC HD7 with a Windows Phone 7.5 ROM at a later period. We did catch a leaked ROM of Windows Phone 7.8 on the Lumia 800 this month as well just in case you own the Nokia device.

Time Warner Cable abandons wireless business plans, sells 7.2 percent Clearwire stake

Time Warner Cable abandons wireless business plans, sells 72 percent Clearwire stake

Time Warner Cable has decided against entering the wireless business, and as such, it’s selling the 7.2 percent stake in Clearwire it picked up in 2008. Thanks to the dwindling value of the network provider, it’s $550 million investment is now only worth around $73 million. Current investors have first refusal on the shares, but it’s unlikely to find takers quickly, given that both Intel and Google dumped their interests at a steep loss and even Sprint has ceased to be its majority owner — although the company itself did tell The Wall Street Journal that it’s doing perfectly fine, but thanked it for asking, before quickly dashing off to “a thing.”

Center For Individual Freedom, Conservative Group, Spends Big Against House Dems

WASHINGTON — A conservative organization leading efforts to beat back disclosure laws in national politics is set to buy nearly $2 million in television advertising against House Democrats, a Democratic source told The Huffington Post.

The Center for Individual Freedom has reserved $1.9 million in as many as 11 media markets, according to the Democrat, who tracks media purchases. The new spending nearly matches the organization’s expenditure in the 2010 elections.

It’s not immediately clear which lawmakers will be targeted. The source said details of the purchase suggest that House candidates Christie Vilsack of Iowa, John Oceguera of Nevada, Annie Kuster of New Hampshire, and and Julian Schreibman of New York, may be targets, along with Rep. Ben Chandler (D-Ky.), Rep. Dan Maffei (D-N.Y.), and Rep. Jim Matheson (D-Utah).
