“Saturday Night Live” is getting a new Barack Obama.

Final Fantasy VII Finally Gets Remade… In LittleBigPlanet 2

Still waiting for a PS3 port of Final Fantasy VII? Wait some more. Because this is not it. It’s the next best thing though: a remake of the entire game on LittleBigPlanet 2, that includes “all conversations, sound tracks, characters, bosses, and enemies.”

final fantasy vii littlebigplanet 2 remake

The geeky feat was made by one Jamie Colliver, who spent a total of 6 months making the 20 levels needed to remake the PlayStation classic. Jamie even managed to mimic the materia and limit break system. He didn’t have to mimic the costumes though, thanks to the official Final Fantasy VII costume pack. Below is the first of 6 videos showing Colliver playing through the levels.

Bravo. The rest of the videos are on Jamie’s YouTube page. Someone give him an Elgato Game Capture or something so we can see the levels the way they were meant to be seen. Meanwhile those of you who have LBP 2 can look at and play the levels for yourselves. Just look for Jamie’s PSN ID “BRRPPPPPPPPPPPPP” (that’s 13 P’s).

Don’t Take Our Word For It: Watch Apple’s Whole iPhone 5/iPod Event Yourself

iphoneevent2

There’s little question that Apple knows how to put on a show, and barring some minor omissions (iPad mini, anyone?), Apple’s iPhone/iPod event was one for the books.

That said, only journalists and Apple’s own people were able to attend, but Apple has just posted the full video of its recently wrapped event so you too can see exactly what happened on-stage.

I feel a warning is in order though — you should make sure to block off a solid chunk of free time first. As usual, the video can be streamed from Apple’s events page, and there doesn’t appear to be any way to actually download it just yet. No worries though, it’s only a matter of time before the entire thing winds up on YouTube, at which point you’ll be able to use your preferred tool to save the file as needed. Until then, grab some popcorn and settle in — you’re in for a bit of a ride. And hey, if you’re really hard up for Apple-related video to watch after that, there’s always that nifty iPhone 5 introduction video to loop endlessly too.

One Direction Wedding Dance: Groom Surprises Bride With Choreographed Performance

There aren’t many men who would willingly listen to British boy band One Direction, let alone dance to one of their songs.

But Montreal groom Sunjay Mathews upped the ante for men across the globe when he and four friends performed a dance to One Direction’s outrageously popular song “What Makes You Beautiful” for his lucky bride, Katie, at their August 25 wedding.

Mathews began by pretending to give a speech to Katie in front of friends and family but, after a quick signal to the DJ, Mathews started singing along to One Direction. His friends — two of whom were groomsmen — gathered round as Mathews passed off the microphone, at which point the five men jumped into an amazing dance number. Apparently, the group practiced the dance, which was choreographed by Mathews’ friend Connie Wu, for two hours every Sunday for about a month to get all the moves down for the Big Day.
