Police announced the arrest of a man in connection with a bank robbery in East LA last week.
Ray Vega, a 33-year-old resident of Bell, Calif., was arrested last Thursday. Sources told the Los Angeles Times that Vega is an acquaintance of the bank manager who was kidnapped and forced to hand money over to her abductors.
The bank manager, whose identity is being protected, told authorities that she was kidnapped from her home in Huntington Park the morning of Sept. 5. Her abductors forced her to wear what she thought was a vest rigged with explosives while the suspects robbed the bank.
