‘Big Brother’ Double Eviction: Who Made It Into The Finale Five?

A fast-paced hour of “Big Brother” as the season’s second live double-elimination got under way. Poor Joe found himself on the block two times, after Frank was inevitably eliminated in the first eviction. Hard feelings or no, Frank will come to realize that he was a huge threat to win the game, so of course they were going to pounce on an opportunity to get rid of him.

Of course, doing so may have cost Dan his vote. Speaking of Dan, he turned around and won the HOH competition, positioning him at the top of the heap. He put up Joe again, this time paired with the outgoing HOH, Ian. Was this an attempt to get out another strong strategic player, or was Ian a pawn?

Viewers didn’t find out because Ian went off and won his first POV of the season, immediately taking himself off the block. In his stead, Dan put Danielle next to Joe. But it was Joe who finally left the BB house.

Wikipad gaming tablet gets Halloween release date at GameStop for $499

We have read about how Gaikai and the Wikipad team have collaborated to come up with what they call the Wikipad gaming tablet in the past, where additional specifications about it were also leaked, so here we are at the (hopefully) final destination where it belongs – at GameStop store shelves this coming Halloween for $499 a pop. Pre-orders for the Wikipad gaming tablet at GameStop commences from September 7th onwards, where this tablet will feature the new NVIDIA Tegra 3 SoC, carrying the distinction of being the first tablet in the market that has an attachable console-quality gamepad controller. It will run on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean while sporting a 10.1” IPS display at 1280 x 800 resolution.

Just what will you do with $499 these days? Would you get yourself a new iPad, or perhaps settle for the newly introduced Kindle Fire HD 4G LTE from Amazon? Of course, others might be tempted by what they just read above and settle for the Wikipad gaming tablet instead. What is your play?

Wonderbook: Book of Spells arriving in the US on November 13th

Earlier this year, we took a gander at an upcoming augmented reality title for the PS3 that has plenty to do with the Harry Potter universe, considering how J.K. Rowling is behind Wonderbook: Book of Spells. Slated to arrive this coming November 13th Stateside, Wonderbook: Book of Spells will make full use of the PlayStation Move’s augmented reality capabilities so that you can dive right into a truly immersive, magical world. Casting spells are no longer imaginary as you can act it out in the game, where some of them include Incendio, Wingardium Leviosa and Expelliarmus, although you can be sure that your parents will seem to have a mystical circle of protection against such digital mysticism.

The Wonderbook: Book of Spells Move Bundle has all that you require to get started right out of the box, where you will trade $79.99 for the Book of Spells game, a Wonderbook peripheral, the PlayStation Eye camera and a PlayStation Move motion controller. Folks who already own the PlayStation Eye camera and a PlayStation Move motion controller, the title itself will retail for a far more affordable $39.99.

Apple slashes Samsung memory chip order for new iPhone, says source

Some might say that this was definitely inevitable – Apple and Samsung being at loggerheads with one another (where Apple might be $1 billion richer eventually) in terms of patents, leading to Apple cutting their orders from Samsung for memory chips that will see action in the upcoming iPhone 5 that is rumored to be announced this coming September 12th. No idea on how reliable this bit of information is, but the source claims to have direct knowledge of the matter.

We do know that Samsung is one of Apple’s core suppliers, rolling out microprocessors, flat displays and memory chips (DRAM chips and NAND memory chips) for Apple’s bestsellers such as the iPhone, iPad and iPod. The slashing of orders from Samsung sends a signal that Cupertino intends to diversify their memory chip supply lines, but this might mean that Samsung could very well not be on the list of initial suppliers for future iOS-powered devices.

Needless to say, there was no comment from either Samsung or Apple when contacted concerning the situation, and this might just see Samsung’s share get hit negatively considering how Apple’s orders are no small fry.

Proficient Audio launches MaxTV MT2 speaker box, soundbars start job hunt

If Proficient Audio’s new MaxTV MT2 speaker box is anything to go by, the company obviously isn’t enamored with the latest slew of slim, elegant soundbars. As the picture shows, it’s designed to act as a platform for your TV and can support up to 160 pounds — enough for even the biggest of flatscreens. The hard, no-grill design shows off the box’s two 1-inch tweeters, four 2.5-inch mid-range speakers and two 5.25-inch, down-facing subs. Four internal 20-watt, two-channel digital amps take care of the power, and with two of those dedicated to the woofers, we’d expect some serious neighbor-waking bass. It’s not just for your TV either, as the built-in Bluetooth supports audio streaming from any of your favorite gadgets. The soundbar-on-steroids is shipping now for 599 bones, and if that sounds a little steep, Proficient Audio assures you that “once someone hears the difference MaxTV makes, they will buy it.”

Simpson-Bowles References In Obama, Biden DNC Speeches Vex Media, Progressives

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Journalists here are honing in on Vice President Joe Biden’s criticism of the GOP for not supporting any of the deficit-reduction proposals over the past year, noting that President Barack Obama did not embrace a report put out by the co-chairs of the Simpson-Bowles panel.

ABC’s Jake Tapper, for instance, called the following, from Biden, an “incredible line.”

“In Tampa, they talked with great urgency about the nation’s debt. And the need to act, to act now. But not once, not one single time, did they tell you that they rejected every plan put forward by us — by the bipartisan Simpson-Bowles Commission they referenced, or by other respected outside group — to reduce the national debt. They were not for any of them. Why? Because they’re not prepared to do anything about the debt if it contained even one dollar, not exaggerating, even one dollar — one cent — in new taxes for millionaires. Folks, that’s not courage. And that’s not fair,” Biden said.
