While we might not have enjoyed the full story arc just yet, we came within an electric whisker of seeing the electric Roadster‘s around the world trip derailed completely. The team at Tesla service in Munich, however, obviously love a fairytale ending — which is why they pledged to fix-up the car in the fastest time possible. Just four days after that show-stopping accident, de Mestre is back in the game, and heading south to Barcelona. The journey won’t end there though, as to make up some lost miles on the French Citroen team, he’ll travel back up to Strasbourg, and in turn roll over the virtual 25,000 km finish line. Joe Biden Speech: Vice President Misuses The Word Literally (VIDEO)

In Joe Biden’s Democratic convention speech Thursday night, the vice president used the word “literally” incorrectly, a lot. Literally.

The Twittersphere swiftly mocked Biden’s misuse of the word, which means “exactly.” To be fair, “literally” is frequently confused as meaning “virtually,” or “nearly.”

Novak Djokovic Beats Juan Martin Del Potro At U.S. Open, Reaches Semifinals

NEW YORK — Locked in a taut, thrill-a-minute second set, Novak Djokovic and Juan Martin del Potro headed to a tiebreaker and promptly produced a 20-stroke masterpiece of a point befitting a pair of past U.S. Open champions.

More than a dozen shots in, defending champion Djokovic tossed up a lob. Del Potro, the 2009 champion, sprinted with his back to the court, got to the ball and lofted a lob the other way. Djokovic slammed an overhead. Del Potro somehow kept the ball in play. Djokovic laced a drop shot. Again, del Potro got there, attempting another lob. It landed long.

Is Your Doctor Out of the Office? Try An E-Visit

By Elizabeth Gardner, for U.S. News

You discover a weird rash on the weekend, which prompts the inevitable question. Should you go to the emergency room to get it checked, or wait for the doctor to squeeze you in on Monday? HealthPartners, an integrated health delivery system in Minneapolis, has a better idea: E-visits. Its service, called virtuwell, has interactive diagnostic questionnaires online (depending on initial answers, subsequent questions may change) for about 40 different conditions with clear treatment protocols.

Nurse practitioners stand by 24/7 to review the questionnaires as well as uploaded photos of any skin lesions or other visible symptoms, give advice, and, if necessary, send a prescription to a pharmacy. The questionnaires automatically flag anything potentially serious. For example, if bladder infection symptoms have gone on for more than a week, virtuwell will end the interview and give the patient a list of options for care in person, usually a clinic. The E-visits cost patients $40 or less, compared with $100 and up for a trip to a doctor’s office or to the ER; as with regular office visits, insurance may cover some of the cost. Amy Wood, a 29-year-old working mother of one daughter from Cottage Grove, Minn., has used virtuwell several times for treating her chronic sinus infections. “This service has saved me so much time driving all the way to the doctor just for her to confirm what I already know I have,” she says.
