The ReadyCase for the iPhone does more than just protect your device

Our smartphones are like the digital Swiss army knives of today – not only can we make phone calls and send text messages, but we can surf the web, send emails, take photos and videos and edit them directly on the phone, do our shopping online and etc. That being said, this Ready Case is looking to take your iPhone and give it multi-functionality as well, although in an external kind of way. As you can see in the image above, the ReadyCase packs quite a few features that will make your iPhone the go-to device not just for your smartphone needs, but for your computing and everyday needs as well. First Nissan Juke-R is on its way to a customer

I have to admit that each time I see a normal Nissan Juke cruising around, I think it’s the ugliest vehicle I’ve ever seen. The first time I saw the Juke-R, I formed a completely different opinion of the car though. This special custom-made version of the little Juke actually looks kind of cool.

It combines slightly modified looks of the Juke-R with the fact that it has the twin turbo 3.8-liter V6 and all-wheel drive train from a 2013 GT-R, and I’m really interested. The first time we saw this customized Juke it was nothing but a publicity stunt on Nissan’s part. Then we found out Nissan would actually build these for anyone wealthy enough to afford the over $600,000 asking price.

Nissan has announced that the first production version of the Juke-R has been built and is on its way to its owner. The vehicle has 545 HP and is packed with racing seats, racing seatbelts, and a roll cage. This car was made for track driving and I would love to hoon one around a road course.

You might think that at $600,000 this would be the only version being constructed. However, Nissan says that a second production version is currently being built for another customer. If I were rich enough, I’d certainly have one of these in my garage, this may be the ultimate modern sleeper.

FAVI Mini Bluetooth keyboard comes with own trackpad

FAVI Entertainment might not be that established as Bang & Olufsen when it comes to audiovisual products despite being in the same industry, but perhaps that is due to their low profile as well as devices that do not reside on the high end side of things. Their most recent device introduced would be the pocket friendly Bluetooth keyboard that is simply known as the FAVI Mini Bluetooth. The Mini Bluetooth keyboard will not only allow you to get all of your typing done on the go, especially when you are working from the cloud on your smartphone device where a touchscreen display is not all that conducive to whip out a long document while you’re on-the-go.

For starters, the Mini Bluetooth keyboard will come with a built-in trackpad that is ideal for pairing with your favorite device. This can be said to be one of the more versatile accessories you will own for your Android-powered device, as it comes with dedicated Android buttons to pave the way for easy access, while enabling one to enjoy music and video navigation through the use of special hotkeys. Not only that, if you are one who does a whole lot of presentations, you will not go wrong with the Mini Bluetooth, since it has its own built-in laser pointer.

Lightweight and portable, the FAVI Mini Bluetooth is said to deliver an ideal balance of speed, accuracy and comfort. Sporting an intuitive key layout, it paves the way for fast and accurate typing without causing more strain on your hands or fingers. The keyboard itself will come with backlit keys, letting you work in the dark as well as dimly lit areas. Since it should, in theory, play nice with all Bluetooth-enabled devices, you can also use it on a non-Bluetooth enabled device thanks to the inclusion of a Bluetooth USB receiver.

It has a wireless range of 50 feet and will retail for $49.99 a pop if you’re interested. Any takers?

Fujitsu gets touchy-feely with Windows 8 tablets

Fujitsu is talking tablets again, and specifically how Windows 8 plays nicely with its touchscreen line-up that now includes the Stylistic Q572. The 10.1-inch Windows 8/Windows 8 Pro slate joins the Stylistic Q702 and Lifebook T902 first announced earlier this year, with an AMD dualcore Z-60 APU processor and 4GB of memory, along with Radeon HD 6250 graphics.

The Stylistic Q572 also has a choice of solid-state drives – from 64GB to 256GB – and digital pen input with a dual-mode finger/stylus touchscreen running at 1366 x 768. Connectivity includes optional 4G LTE, standard WiFi, optional Bluetooth, gigabit ethernet, HDMI and both a USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 port.

There’s also a docking connector, memory card slot, two digital microphones, audio in, audio out, and a pair of webcams: HD resolution up front, and 5-megapixels on the back. The Q572 measures in at 273.5 x 176 x 13.9 mm and weighs 820g.

Meanwhile, the existing Fujitsu tablets each get an upgrade to Windows 8, with the Intel powered Stylistic Q702 – shown above – running the new OS on an 11.6-inch docking hybrid form-factor, complete with a detachable keyboard. Alone, it will run for over 4hrs, but when docked it will last for up to 9.5hrs, Fujitsu claims.

Finally, the Lifebook T902 is a convertible 13.3-inch model with a choice of Core i5/i7 processors, a swiveling 1600 x 900 touchscreen, integrated optical drive, and optional 4G LTE. It’s more powerful than the other models, though the compromise is weight and bulk: at 1.89kg, it’s a hefty notebook to carry around in your arms all day.

Fujitsu’s updated range will go on sale alongside Windows 8, on October 26. Pricing is yet to be confirmed.

What Was Life Like Before iPhones?

Our children won’t know what life was like before smartphones took over our every waking hour. But when you inevitably try to gather them around to tell them about all the time we spent not staring at screens? Well, as Doghouse Diaries points out, good luck with that: More »

Analysts predict that the iPad mini will eat into the iPad’s sales

Render by Martin Hajek

The 23rd of October is when Apple is expected to announce the iPad mini (amongst other rumored products). However with the announcement of the iPad mini, many are thinking that this would eat into the sales of the iPad, although exactly how much of the iPad’s sales it would eat into remains a mystery. However a couple of analysts have come forward with their own predictions, starting with Piper Jaffray analyst, Gene Munster (via AllThingsD), who predicts that the iPad mini could eat into 20% of the iPad’s sales. Another analyst, Bill Choi of Janney Montgomery Scott, agrees with Munster although his predictions are a bit on the conservative side, with Choi estimating that the iPad mini will eat into 15% of the iPad’s sales.

However given that both devices sport different sizes and different price points, perhaps the iPad mini will appeal to customers who want an iPad, but either don’t fancy its 9.7” display or its price, which means that it won’t eat into iPad sales but would actually encourage new ones. As Ed Sutherland of iDownloadBlog says, this is like worrying whether a dollar goes into your left pocket instead of the right. In any case we guess we will have to wait and see if these predictions come true, but until then what do you guys think? If you don’t own an iPad, would a potentially cheaper and smaller iPad mini be of interest to you?

This iPhone 4/4S mod will make the Apple logo glow

We’re sure that you guys have seen MacBooks before and how the Apple logo on the computer glows. Well if you want that feature on your iPhone, you might be able to thanks to this mod. The folks at Adafruit have managed to get their hands on a mod from China that allows users to install a light inside the iPhone that lets the Apple logo on the back of the iPhone light up. Unfortunately this mod is only for the iPhone 4 and 4S and it looks like it might not be the easiest of mods, especially for the inexperienced. Unfortunately the folks at Adafruit cannot sell the mod since it features Apple’s logo which is a trademark infringing product (since it is not an official Apple product), but if you’re interested in checking it out, watch the video above where Becky at Adafruit installs the mod and makes her Apple logo on her iPhone turn into a rainbow thanks to a decal. Pretty cool stuff, but you might have to do quite a bit of searching if you’d like to get your hands on it.

Famed iOS hacker Comex is no longer with Apple, but don’t expect any jailbreaks from him anytime soon

A while back it was pretty big news when prominent iOS hacker, Comex, or Nicholas Allegra as he is known in real life, was hired by Apple. Given his work on JailbreakMe, a jailbreak tool that could be used within Safari, we guess Apple was right in snapping him up, possibly in an effort to help identify and close exploits. While we’d love to think that he’s still at Apple busy working on making life harder for hackers to jailbreak iOS devices, that is unfortunately not that case as in an interview with Forbes, Allegra revealed that he is no longer with Apple.
