Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini Gets Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean Update

gs3 mini Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini Gets Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean UpdateFolks in Asia, Indonesia and Vietnam to be exact, are apparently going to sign off 2012 on a high note. This is because the Samsung Galaxy S3 mini (which will not be sold in the US, by the way, in order to be dropped from the lawsuit that was filed and will go on trial in 2014 by Apple) has reportedly shipped with Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean right out of the box.

In fact, it was as recent as last month when the little smartphone that could came with Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean on board, so to hear that it has arrived with this new version is definitely nothing short of encouraging. In fact, Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean is proud to come with its Premium Suite, where a bunch of new features such as Page Buddy, Multi Window, Paper Artist, Group Cast, Smart Rotation, a new customizable notification panel, and a new gallery app are thrown into the mix. What do you think of this development – will you import a Galaxy S3 mini?

Apple Guilty Of Copyright Infringement In China

china apple Apple Guilty Of Copyright Infringement In ChinaNow this is an interesting bit of news that the China Daily has reported – that mighty Apple has been found guilty of copyright infringement in China, where they were accused of illegally publishing material by some of the most popular writers in the world’s most populous country. Now, we did talk about this story a few days ago, and the fine imposed on Apple will certainly do nothing to hurt their stock price, but there are implications of this copyright infringement.

Just what will this particular ruling mean for future lawsuits? It cannot be denied that copyright infringement in China is rampant, and to stamp it out would be a Herculean task. Still, this particular case shows that the Chinese government is not going to take this situation lying down, and are clamping down on piracy, although one cannot help but question the effectiveness of the rulings. Perhaps the government should work harder in squashing piracy once and for all regardless of the level.

Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition Considered For PS3 Release

bg enhanced Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition Considered For PS3 ReleaseOne of the more acclaimed RPGs (Role Playing Game) back in the 1990s on the PC platform was the Baldur’s Gate series, and it is safe to assume that no true fan of the genre has forgotten that name, in fact, reading this might actually cause you to fire up the game yet again to give it a go. There are certain quarters who have little or no regard for Baldurs Gate: Dark Alliance titles for the PS2, as it has been considered by purists to be dumbed-down versions of the original PC classic(s), and those assumptions do have their merit.

Well, here we are with word that Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition was also given consideration to be released on the PS3 platform, according to DualShockers who picked off the Twitter feed of creative director Trent Oster, saying, “We talked with Sony about #BGEE for #PS3 In the end, the rework to keep the fun and fix the control / UI for console was just too much.” Perhaps these could be similar roadblocks that Blizzard are facing when it comes to porting Diablo 3 over to the console world.

LG Televisions To Feature OLED, UHD And New User Experience At CES 2013

LG Smart TV ces 2013 LG Televisions To Feature OLED, UHD And New User Experience At CES 2013[CES 2013] LG has announced that it will demonstrate a new range of televisions including a huge 84″ that features a UHD/4K resolution, and a 55-inch OLED model which will be the follow-up of last year’s introduction of OLED televisions as official LG “commercial products”. It’s clear that UHD is best demonstrated with larger sizes and so far, most 84″ television that we’ve seen (including Sony’s own Sony XBR-84X900 84″ LED TV) have looked extraordinary.

However, the real question for both OLED and UHD TVs is: how fast can the prices drop? It seems really hard to sell a 55-inch OLED TV for $8000, so this has to come closer to $3000 before people start buying in volume. The 84″ has to drop by quite a bit as well. We’ve seen 70″ TVs (1080p) going for less than $2000, so although UHD is very good-looking, the lack of content and the high price tag may prove difficult to overlook for you and I. Yet, it’s hard to be insensitive to the sheer beauty of UHD on a 84″ display. (more…)

Skyrim Dragonborn DLC For PS3 Coming Early 2013

dragonborn ps3 Skyrim Dragonborn DLC For PS3 Coming Early 2013The Skyrim Dragonborn downloadable content (DLC) which has been seen by many to be stillborn, does seem to have a fair shot at arriving on the PS3 platform sometime early next year, and this bit of information came from the folks over at Bethesda themselves. The game developer is said to be hard at work to deliver Dawnguard and Hearthfire to the PS3 platform, too. In fact, a day before the Skyrim Dragonborn DLC arrived for Xbox LIVE, Bethesda mentioned in an update on their official blog by dropping hints that the DLC’s release date for the PS3 is early next year.

Bethesda mentioned, “We’re also happy to announce Dragonborn will be available on PS3 and PC early next year.” Does this mean we could be looking at a January 2013 release date? After all, PS3 owners have waited long enough, don’t you think so, to deserve an earlier release. Ah well, all we need now is to expend our patience for a wee bit more.
