Nokia Lumia 610 To Get Angry Birds?

nokia lumia 610 fcc Nokia Lumia 610 To Get Angry Birds? It seems that Rovio’s hugely successful gaming franchise that is known as Angry Birds might have made its way to yet another platform that is known as the Nokia Lumia 610. Are there no platforms that are not sacred to this avian flinging title? Not really, and Angry Birds fans who own a Nokia Lumia 610 would definitely be more than happy to hear this from the grapevine.

In fact, back in May earlier this year, Rovio was mentioned to be working on an optimized version of Angry Birds for the Nokia Lumia 610, and I guess the fruit of their labor is finally ready to be shown to the world, never mind the fact that it has been a good half year worth of waiting. We do understand that Rovio has successfully optimized all versions of the Angry Birds titles in order for it to play nice with the RAM memory limits of the Lumia 610.

There was no additional information available on just how soon the Angry Birds titles will be available, as the Lumia 610 still gets shown a “unavailable for your device” message, so it might take some more time before the optimized versions show off its feathers in the Store.

Google Received 50 Million URL Removal Requests In 2012

google logo Google Received 50 Million URL Removal Requests In 2012Now that we are at the end of 2012, it makes perfect sense to do a recap of all that has happened in the year, taking stock of the situation and what not. We did bring you a story about how Google removed a fair number (2 billion!) of fake views from YouTube, and here we are with the grand total of URL removal requests for the entire year – numbering approximately 50 million thereabouts. It was just in May that Google was on the receiving end of around 1.2 million URL removal requests each month, so to hit a grand total of 50 million for the entire year of 2012 means that plenty more requests were sent out in the second half of the year.

Bear in mind that this 50 million figure is not official from Google, but rather, it is some mathematics and arcane magic employed by the good people over at TorrentFreak to arrive at the magical 51,395,353 mark. The numbers also show that the amount of requests has continued its upward spiral. The Recording Industry Association of America is touted to be the primary source for these requests, which should not come across as a surprise, really.

First Tizen Device Gets MWC 2013 Debut

samsung logo First Tizen Device Gets MWC 2013 DebutWe are gearing ourselves up for CES 2013 which is happening in slightly more than a week’s time, and there are tons of embargoes for us to finish up by then. Still, this does not mean that we do not cast our eye on the future – in fact, we do look forward to MWC 2013 that is happening a month after CES, where we will be off to Barcelona, Spain, to check out all that is happening in that part of the world as we intend to bring you the latest developments where smartphones are concerned as well. Word has it that Samsung has been hard at work with Intel on developing the Tizen platform, where the South Korean manufacturer is looking to merge their own bada platform with Tizen.

Yomiuri Shimbun, a Japanese newspaper, did report that NTT Docomo, Japan’s largest carrier, will put up its first Tizen device ever as part of their product portfolio after it is launched by Samsung at Mobile World Congress 2013. We cannot wait – can you?

‘Be The Boss’: Former Client Becomes Owner Of Her Own Jazzercise Franchise (VIDEO)

Sophia was so pleased with her 60-pound weight loss through Jazzercise that she started working for the company. Since then, she’s spent the last ten years teaching classes. When “Be the Boss” came calling, she thought she was going to be competing for a promotion in the company she’d come to love.

Little did she know the prize would be something far sweeter. Sophia’s jaw literally dropped when Judi Sheppard Missett, the founder and CEO of Jazzercise handed her the keys to her own franchise.

“I’ve always dreamed of owning my own center,” she said. “I didn’t see it so soon in my future. I’m very, very excited.”

David Wild: "Happy New Year": Almost Certainly My Last Playlist of 2012

To quote Oscar Wilde, “Good resolutions are simply checks that men draw on a bank where they have no account.” Thanks, Uncle Oscar, for the excellent literary excuse to resolve pretty much nothing. So rather than offer any grand resolutions that won’t clear or share my ignorant perspective on life on the Fiscal Cliff, here’s an eclectic playlist for this New Year’s Eve. I’ve included some suggestions from the good people — and the occasional hot spambot — who follow me on Twitter @WildAboutMusic. So happy New Year to Kim, Kanye and all the other men and women in the extended dysfunctiona family of man.

S21H Android Stick PC Has 2GB RAM

s21h S21H Android Stick PC Has 2GB RAMWho would have thought that advancements made in the semiconductor industry has seen the processing power of a decent computer crammed into something as small as a USB stick? Well, that is where we are at today, and the S21H is a prime example of such development in the world of Android-powered TV sticks. What makes the S21H special from the rest is the integration of a dual-core ARM Cortex-A9 processor as well as 2GB RAM for approximately $70, where it is also said to come with 8GB of internal memory.

Other hardware specifications of the S21H Android stick PC include 802.11b/g/n WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity, a microSD memory card slot for expansion purposes, and a full-sized USB 2.0 port, although we would have liked to see USB 3.0 in the pipeline instead. An HDMI connector is located on one end, letting you plug the stick straight into a TV or monitor, allowing you to run Android apps on a large display. It is also nice to know that Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean comes with the S21H right out of the box.

Apple Won’t Pursue Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini In Court

galaxy s3 mini firmwarre Apple Won’t Pursue Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini In CourtIt has been reported by Reuters that Apple will be dropping patent claims against new Samsung phone known as the Galaxy S3 mini, but of course, this is not because Apple is still in the spirit of Christmas, but rather, after Samsung claimed that they will not be offering the Galaxy S3 mini for sale in the strategic US market. I wonder whether this will hold true for Apple in other countries where the Galaxy S3 mini is sold, and there is a sizeable presence of the iPhone there.

This particular agreement was disclosed by Apple in a filing on Friday in U.S. District Court in San Jose, California. When contacted, there was no comment from both sides of the divide – representatives for both Apple and Samsung remained mum on the situation. What do you make of this situation – is there some sort of unspoken peace accord that both companies are working towards, or is it a temporary ceasefire? Are you disappointed that the Galaxy S3 mini is not headed to the US?

Re:Sound Bottle Concept

soundbottle Re:Sound Bottle ConceptNow here is a conceptual idea that you might want to embrace when it comes to adding some spice to your daily life – designed by Jun Fujiwara who hails from Tama Art University, this particular bottle is simple in its usage, although the design itself can be said to be absurdly complex, as it has a very heavy reliance on software to handle the recording, storing, and playback of audio tracks. Using it is a snap – all you need to do is uncork the device, and should there be sound in the vicinity, it will get to work right away, recording whatever it “hears”. The more individual sounds that are recorded, the better, as an audio database is formed where tracks can be automatically selected to create rhythmic tracks, turning this into a somewhat miniature robot DJ stashed into a tiny jar. Playing back your “creations” will require you to uncork the top and a little bit of waiting. The whole idea of this Re:Sound Bottle concept is to help folks interact more directly with music through the recording of audio in one’s daily life. That’s very zen.

Nokia Lumia 920 Sold Out In 20 Minutes

lumia sold out Nokia Lumia 920 Sold Out In 20 MinutesThe Chinese, they sure as heck love their Nokia Lumia 920, as we heard that the Lumia 920 smartphone was actually sold out in record time when it first arrived at China’s retail stores, and the wait for the second batch of the Lumia 920 proved futile for those who are rather slow, as the second batch were also sold out as fast as a freshly baked cart of dim sum.

Well, what else can we say about this situation – either demand for the Lumia 920 is overwhelming in that part of the world, taking under 20 minutes to be sold out at the Nokia flagship store in Shanghai, or could the number of units made available are just insufficient enough to create an artificial sense of demand? We let you be the judge, but we do know that the yellow variant has the highest demand. Is the Nokia Lumia 920 also in demand at where you live? Do you know anyone else using this smartphone?
