More Sony C650X Odin Information Made Available

sony odin More Sony C650X Odin Information Made AvailableIn recent times, we have seen our fair share of leaked photos of the Sony C660X Yuga, where it is also known as the Sony Xperia Z, which is in stark contrast to the Sony C650X Odin which has seen very few leaks along the way. Well, a Vietnamese website known as SE-Cafe do claim to have managed to achieve some hands-on time with the Sony C650X Odin, although they say that they were not given the relevant permission to snap photos of their experience. In Internet parlance, pics or it didn’t happen!

Well, there were some hints dropped about the C650X Odin, and since the alleged device which was given some hands-on time is a prototype, the final version of this Sony Mobile device could be a slightly changed beast altogether when released. It is said that the Odin is thicker and heavier than the Yuga, and the back of the smartphone will feature a textured (or perhaps a striped pattern) that is similar to the Sony Xperia E dual. It will also be strange to see the front-facing camera located at the bottom-right of the handset instead of the usual practice at the top right hand corner. What do you make of it?

Send Your Christmas Tree Into Space

christmas rocket Send Your Christmas Tree Into SpaceNow that the Yuletide celebrations are more or less over, some folks out there might be on the lookout to dispose of their Christmas tree that has adorned the living room for a month or more. You could choose to leave it outside of the home with the rest of your trash like the majority, but how about giving it a far more lighted send-off? After all, it did add some flair to your life and that of your family for the better part of one month when it was lighted up, offering shelter to the presents underneath. Some folks decided to transform their tree into the aptly named XMS Missiletoe, followed by a trip to space.

Of course, using the word “space” would be stretching it somewhat, but you could say that the entire flight with the tree attached to it is pretty impressive, all 100 plus feet of it above the ground. Considering how the the tree ended back up on earth tip down, we would recommend this grand send-off to happen in an unpopulated area, otherwise who knows, you might actually have it fall on someone else instead by accident? Not the best way to end the year for sure.

‘Drugged: High On Alcohol’: Man’s Organs Hurt Every Day, Drinks Three Pints Of Vodka Daily (VIDEO)

In the “High on Alcohol” special edition of “Drugged,” viewers were presented with a story that was both a tragedy and a cautionary tale. Ryan, a 28-year-old alcoholic, drank three pints of vodka a day. Ryan turned to alcohol when his father, who was also an alcoholic, passed away four years ago.

In just four years, Ryan has done severe damaged to his body, and yet he seems fully aware of the danger he’s in, and oddly accepting of the inevitable.

“My organs are shot. They hurt every day,” he said at one point. “It would be weird feeling if they didn’t.” And yet still he wouldn’t stop drinking.

Nathan Newman: The Enduring Radicalism of Les Miserables

In discussing Les Miserables, most critics have focused on the spectacle (grand), on the acting (quite outstanding) or the use of real-time singing (quite effective), but far less has been written about Victor Hugo’s enduring radical politics being brought to the big screen.

This is a case of a movie budget making poverty look nasty and heartbreaking, as nearly sainted characters join revolution in protest of its ills.   And in many ways, this 1832 occupation of the barricades of Paris is the early forefather of 2011’s Occupy protests across the country.

But the real measure of the radicalism of Les Miserables is not in the character of the heroes or the evils visited upon them, but in that of the movie’s villain, Inspector Javert.  Unlike so many political films whose villain may be a rogue corporation or a corrupt cabal of the government, Javert is rigidly honest and even fair in his own terms, since he believes his harsh standards of justice should apply to himself when he falls short.

Al Qaeda In Yemen Offers Bounty For U.S. Ambassador Gerald Feierstein Or American Soldier

DUBAI, Dec 31 (Reuters) – The Yemen-based branch of al Qaeda has offered a bounty for anyone who kills the U.S. ambassador to Yemen or an American soldier in the impoverished Arab state, a group that monitors Islamist websites said.

Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) said it was offering three kilograms of gold for the killing of the U.S. ambassador in Sanaa, Gerald Feierstein, the U.S.-based SITE Intelligence Group said, citing an audio released by militants.

AQAP will also pay 5 million rials ($23,350) to whoever kills any American soldier in Yemen, it said.

The offer, valid for six months, was made “to encourage our Muslim Ummah (nation), and to expand the circle of the jihad (holy war) by the masses,” SITE said, citing the audio.

AQAP, mostly militants from Yemen and Saudi Arabia, is regarded by the United States as the most dangerous branch of the network founded by Osama bin Laden.

In September, AQAP urged Muslims to step up protests and kill U.S. diplomats in Muslim countries over a film denigrating the Prophet Mohammad, which it said was another chapter in the “crusader wars” against Islam.

The film provoked an outcry among Muslims, who deem any depiction of the Prophet as blasphemous and triggered violent attacks on embassies in countries in Asia and the Middle East.

Four U.S. officials including the ambassador to Libya were killed in the aftermath. The Pentagon said it had sent a platoon of Marines to Yemen after demonstrators stormed the U.S. Embassy in Sanaa.

A U.S. ally, Yemen is struggling against challenges on many fronts since mass protests forced veteran leader Ali Abdullah Saleh to step down in February after decades in power.

President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi’s government is trying to re-establish order and unify the army.

Washington, which has pursued a campaign of assassination by drone and missile against suspected al Qaeda members, backed a military offensive in May to recapture areas of Abyan province. But militants have struck back with a series of bombings and killings. (Reporting by Rania El Gamal; editing by Todd Eastham)
