Lakers center Dwight Howard considered the NBA’s $35,000 for committing a flagrant foul type 2 against Denver forward Kenneth Faried excessive.
“It’s a lot for a flagrant foul. I was happy I didn’t get suspended,” Howard said. “I’m disappointed to be kicked out of the game.”
Howard then made a promise.

Kansas state officials are seeking child support from the sperm donor to a lesbian couple in exchange for the state providing the child’s mother with financial aid.
The Kansas Department of Children and Families has filed a claim against William Marotta, a mechanic in Topeka, demanding child support for the 3-year-old daughter of Topeka residents Jennifer Schreiner and Angela Bauer, to whom he donated sperm in 2009, the Topeka Capital-Journal reported. Schreiner and Bauer had sought financial assistance from state welfare officials after Bauer stopped working due to illness and could not financially support Schreiner and their children.
According to the Capital-Journal, Schreiner and Bauer are no longer together but still co-parent their eight children. Because Schreiner is the 3-year-old’s sole parent under Kansas law, which does not recognize same-sex unions, the state cannot seek child support from Bauer.

House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) rebuked President Obama’s remarks on Republicans’ role in fiscal cliff negotiations, slamming the president for his “ironic” statement on Sunday’s “Meet the Press.”
“Americans elected President Obama to lead, not cast blame,” Boehner said in a Sunday statement. “The president’s comments today are ironic, as a recurring theme of our negotiations was his unwillingness to agree to anything that would require him to stand up to his own party. Needed cuts and reforms that the president agreed to just last year were no longer on the table, as he cited an inability to sell them to Democrats.”
Boehner continued: “Republicans made every effort to reach the ‘balanced’ deficit agreement that the president promised the American people, while the president has continued to insist on a package skewed dramatically in favor of higher taxes that would destroy jobs. We’ve been reasonable and responsible. The president is the one who has never been able to get to ‘yes.'”

I’ve already swapped out the buttons on one of my Xbox 360 controllerswith some bullet buttons, and they look cool. But now I’m really jealous because somebody is now selling a bullet button mod that actually lights up. Sweet.
DeadEye Modz takes actual 9mm brass bullet casings, drills out the centers, and mounts colored LEDs inside of them so you know which button is which by color, not just by touch like with other bullet mods. The installation process is pretty straightforward, but unlike other button mods, you’ll need basic soldering skills to attach the LEDs and resistors to the board to provide power. Instructions are provided, so if you’re reasonably handy, it shouldn’t be a big deal.
There’s also a matching, light-up Xbox Guide button – made from a shotgun shell – and available in a variety of LED colors of your choice.
