SmithFly Digi Pouch: Your Gadgets Can Go Fishing!

I’m a bit paranoid about getting my tech gear wet. I don’t mind using my phone in a light drizzle, but after a while, you have to pocket it. Have you ever been worried about getting your precious electronics wet? Then check out the this carrying pouch, which is supposed to keep all of your gadgets safe from the elements.

digi pouch

The SmithFly Digi Pouch has a roll-top design and it’s completely watertight. It’s crafted in the USA from 18 oz. vinyl, and is perfect for toting DSLR cameras, phones or anything else you’d consider mission-critical to your daily life. The pouch also has some Molle webs on a welded patch on the back of the bag. This means that it works with any Molle-webbed add-on – though those items obviously won’t be sheltered from the elements like the stuff inside of the bag.

Gay Viral Videos Of 2012: ‘Call Me Maybe,’ Sandy Hook Tribute, ‘Homecoming,’ Proposals And More

The international relevance of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) issues was confirmed numerous ways in 2012.

These incredible videos — all of which swept Twitter, Facebook and a number of other social media sites over the past year — represent the LGBT community’s political concerns as well as its often wicked sense of humor. From the poignancy of Shane Bitney Crone’s “It Could Happen To You” (which explored the lack of rights offered to unwed gay couples) to a gay chorus’ chilling rendition of a holiday classic in honor of Sandy Hook victims, these clips were certainly topical. And let’s not forget the touching “Homecoming” and “Invisible Parents” videos, a sexy “Call Me Maybe” redux shot in West Hollywood and the French soccer players who smooched in a more-than-brotherly fashion on the field — all of which made us smile.

Take a look at HuffPost Gay Voices’ picks for the 14 best gay viral videos this year:

OUYA developers share console first-impressions

OUYA‘s Developer Console kits are winging their way to eager coders, and the first demos of the provisional interface and gameplay experience are emerging. Early game partners CodeZombieGames took some time out of tinkering with their new toy to run through the unboxing, setup, and usability of the OUYA box, including video playback, internet browsing, and actually playing a game. Read on for the videos.

OUYA is based on Android, but the team responsible for the box has reskinned Google’s OS with a UI more suited to TV use. The latest previews of that interface were given last week, though OUYA was keen to point out that it’s a work-in-progress and is likely to change from what we see here before the final build is signed off.

OUYA Dev Console interface:

Still, it’s a good preview of the overall owner-experience. The UI is clean, a little like the Metro-style interface on Windows Phone, and there’s an easily-navigable onscreen keyboard for text entry (though external peripherals should be supported). The most obvious thing is adjusting games to suit widescreen TV displays: CodeZombieGames’ choice of title is clearly formatted for a portrait phone orientation.

Those regular buyers who backed the OUYA Kickstarter or who have preordered the console since will have to wait a little longer to get their hand on the Android cube. First shipments are expected in March 2013.

The Big Orange, ‘La Gran Naranja,’ Gets Installed In Downtown Miami (PHOTOS)

With just two days until the start of the New Year, workers are busy installing the Big Orange that will be hoisted to the top of downtown’s InterContinental Hotel to initiate the city’s fireworks display.

Dubbed Mr. Neon, the glowing fruit got a makeover last year when its mug started sporting a coy wink.

This year, it’s the name that’s getting the facelift. Mr. Neon has been renamed ‘La Gran Naranja’ to honor Viva Florida 500, a three-year Spanish heritage campaign that begins January 1.

30 Days Of LGBT Holiday Giving: Give A Gift To OUTreach Resource Center

Note: This holiday season, in lieu of a traditional holiday gift guide, we’ll be featuring a different LGBT organization each day for our “30 Days Of LGBT Giving.” Check back tomorrow for a look at another incredible group that’s working tirelessly on behalf of the LGBT community.

North of Salt Lake City, in Ogden, Utah, sits OUTreach Resource Center, a community organization for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer youth, and their allies.

The center, which operates on Wednesdays and Thursdays from the afternoon to early evenings, can be found in the lower level of the Unitarian Universalist Church In Ogden, where youth ages 14-23 go for OUTreach’s affirming, safe-space environment. The community resource center is only the “second center in the state of Utah to provide not only safe space and support, but also quality programming and services designed to help youth survive and thrive.”
