Google Pages gain interaction with those beyond their circles, will get analytics soon

Many running Google+ Pages for their companies have likely been frustrated by the lack of interaction with some of their fans — if visitors haven’t already put the brand in a circle, they’ve been off-limits regardless of their interest. A quiet change may have just opened the floodgates. Pages can now share, comment on and +1 posts from those who weren’t already followers. Google hasn’t made the change official, but it is promising a feature that’s ultimately complementary: Pages should get their own analytics for demographics and social activity in the “coming weeks,” giving owners an idea as to who they’re attracting. While we hope that the loosened restrictions don’t lead to unwanted conversations in our feeds, they’re undoubtedly valuable to companies that just want to share good news or offer a helping hand.

A Proposal in an iPad Box: Better than a Tablet?

I got a ton of presents this Christmas, and I hope you did, too. There were some I liked, some I didn’t, and some that I absolutely loved. But regardless of the actual gift in the box, it’s the thought that counts, so I guess I can say that I loved everything I got. What about you?

There were some unexpected presents, for sure, but I’m sure the person who got the most unexpected gift of all was the recipient of Redditor rad_rob.

iPadThe box you see above was gifted to his girlfriend. And while it’s the box for an iPad, it doesn’t actually contain an iPad inside. Instead, it holds something that’s more like the key to her future – and his as well, if everything works out.

Yep, that’s right: rad_rob wrapped up his proposal and an engagement ring in an iPad box and you’d be surprised at the lengths he went through to get it right. You can check out the gallery below to see exactly what he did.

iPad3 175x175
iPad2 175x175
iPad5 175x175
iPad4 175x175

Good luck, Rob – I hope you got an “I Do!” and not a “Where’s my iPad?”

Parents Tracks Daughter’s Phone, Receives Stalking Order

stalking Parents Tracks Daughter’s Phone, Receives Stalking OrderIt seems that a court has slapped a pair of parents with a stalking order, after discovering that they have been stalking their daughter’s phone. In this particular case that concerns 21-year-old Aubrey Ireland, who happened to be musically talented and hence, headed to the University of Cincinnati to further her studies, although without getting any scholarship money. Her parents footed the bill, and they were paranoid enough to leave her alone some 600 miles away from their hometown in Kansas so much so that it ended up with them dropping by unannounced to visit their daughter.

Aubrey claims that her parents would then harass her and throw accusations of her of living a sex-and-drugs-filled life, in addition to sharing those “claims” with her university officials, touting that she has mental problems and requires treatment. Not only that, it seems that they installed tracking software on Aubrey’s phone and computer to gain full access to her communications as well.

This led Aubrey to file a civil stalking order against her parents in September 2012, and for one whole year, her parents cannot come into contact with their daughter. Even the university has hired security to help Aubrey live a normal life as far as it is possible. We hope that her parents would be less paranoid and let their little bird “fly” now that she is an adult.

The Samsung Galaxy Note II comes in the form you see it in the photo above through several carriers and bears a rather similar look for certain mobile providers in the USA. The big difference is the logo placement and addition of names such as Verizon and “4G LTE” throughout. At the moment we’re limited to Pepple Blue and Marble White for the device everywhere in the world while the smaller relative device, the Samsung Galaxy S III, is available in several shades.

Generate Your WiFi Password As A QR Code

qr code wall Generate Your WiFi Password As A QR CodeNow here is a story that you might just want to live it out, especially when you have an organization or do invite plenty of friends over to your place often. Since we live in a mostly wireless environment these days, folks would definitely ask, “May I have your WiFi password please?” A Reddit user decided to do something about this situation, and has “enlisted” the help of QR codes to get the job done. In particular, an extremely large QR code that is subsequently printed out and framed, so that you can just let them use their smartphone app to scan and enter the code themselves.

If you are curious in doing the same for yourself, you can opt to head on here, input your WiFi details, and a QR code will then be generated on your behalf. Guess this is one of the far more practical ways of using a QR code compared to what we have seen so far, but if you are one who is a paranoid android and loves to change the WiFi password every other week, printing it out and framing it might not be that good an idea due to the amount of wasted paper.

Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus To Get NFC Chip (Rumor)

galaxy s2 plus nfc Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus To Get NFC Chip (Rumor)It seems that there are expectations in the industry that the yet unannounced Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus will be on the receiving end of two different models, that is, the GT-i9105 and the GT-i9105P, with the latter all set to arrive with an NFC chip. This might be the “Plus” version of the original S2 i9100, but you will find that the i9105 is not going to be superior in any way due to the lack of superior specifications.

The processor will be a dual-core 1GHz processor, while carrying 8GB of internal memory. Well, the bright side would be that this Galaxy S2 Plus will have Android 4.1 Jelly Bean running right out of the box, in addition to a 4.3-inch display at 800 x 480 resolution, with an 8-megapixel camera at the back with flash, a 2-megapixel front-facing camera, and a body which has the dimensions of 125.3mm x 66.1mm x 8.98mm. Will NFC connectivity be a deal breaker for you, or would you decide to settle for something newer?
