US Wins Appeal In Battle To Extradite Kim Dotcom

WELLINGTON, New Zealand — The U.S. has won a court appeal in its battle to extradite Internet entrepreneur Kim Dotcom from New Zealand.

A New Zealand appeals court Friday overturned an earlier ruling that would have allowed Dotcom broad access to the evidence against him at the time of his August extradition hearing. The appeals court ruled that extensive disclosure would bog down the process and that a summary of the U.S. case would suffice.

The Last Of Us Development Series Episode 1: Hush

Yes, we are on the cusp of February and will enter March pretty soon (although some countries are already well into March 1st), which means we are one step closer to the June 14th release of The Last of Us. Developers of The Last of Us, Naughty Dog, have recently rolled out a new bunch of videos which will provide a straightforward look at their in-house development process. The first of these videos can be viewed above, although you will need to be of a certain age, of course.

Basically, the Last of Us will play on a very common theme these days, which deals with apocalyptic epidemics on the earth. The Last of Us has been described as a “genre-defining experience blending survival and action elements” that are used to share a character driven story concerning a population decimated by a modern plague (zombies, anyone?) Two decades after the plague kicked in fully, nature has started to reclaim the infected cities, while infected humans continue to run wild with survivors killing each other for daily supplies such as food and weapons among others. The Last of Us will launch this coming June 14 and will be a Ps3 exclusive.

Your Phone’s Low Battery Warnings Should Look Like These Hilarious Notifications

Because batteries enjoy dying so much when we really need that last little bit of juice, low battery warnings really should be more animated than the plain “20% of battery remaining”. I don’t know how many times I’ve ignored that message. But if the alert made fun of me and said something like, “Oh I’ll just charge it tonight” You idiot, then my God I would listen to it so much more. More »

ST. LOUIS — Jonathan Toews scored twice, and Ray Emery and Corey Crawford combined on a shutout as the Chicago Blackhawks extended their NHL-record season-opening points streak to 20 games with a 3-0 win over the St. Louis Blues on Thursday night.

Andrew Shaw also scored for Chicago, which was coming off a 6-0-1 homestand and improved to 9-0-2 on the road. The Blackhawks, who have won seven in a row overall, have earned 37 out of a possible 40 points this season with a 17-0-3 start.

Verizon Galaxy Nexus In Line For Update

Verizon Galaxy Nexus In Line For UpdateThe Samsung Galaxy Nexus from Verizon Wireless might sport 4G LTE connectivity, but it has sadly been passed over in terms of software updates compared to the GSM version of the Galaxy Nexus, which in fact, remains four versions behind the most recent software update. The indignity of it all! At least we have hope that things will change for the better soon, as according to a Verizon support team member who used Twitter as the channel of communications, replied to a query, saying, “Samsung will push the update directly to your device over the air. Sorry, no release date. But, it will be soon.”

“Soon” is a very relative word, and bear in mind that the Verizon Galaxy Nexus currently runs on the Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean update, which remains clearly behind the Android 4.1.2, Android 4.2.1, and of course, the most recent Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. Ah well, at least there is an update coming, and we are willing to settle for scraps if that is what it takes.
