Big Dawgs Tour, Butler University Bulldog Tour, Visits Washington, D.C. (PHOTOS)

Georgetown University students were treated to a heaping dose of adorable on Friday afternoon when Butler Blue, Butler University’s droopy-faced mascot bulldog, traipsed through campus to spend some quality time with his counterpart, Jack.

Jack, Georgetown’s bulldog mascot, and Butler got to know each other amongst D.C.’s most famous landmarks, along with their understudies, Jack Jr. and Trip.

But it wasn’t all fun and games — the canines took a bit of warming up to one another. “They’re bulldogs, and we were creeping on Jack and JJ’s turf, so it got a little tense at moments,” The Butler dogs’ owner, Michael Kaltenmark, told the Burlington Free Press. “Most of that was indoors. Once they got outside, nobody was really territorial. They really got along okay.”

George Heymont: Strange Interludes

With winter’s cold weather and shorter days, I almost feel like I’ve been hibernating. I’ve been taking more naps than usual and, when the sound of my own snoring awakens me, merely roll over and go back to sleep. That’s when things get a bit dicey.

Even if I’m trying to read a book, once my eyelids get heavy and I start to snooze, a world of wild fantasy opens up. My dreams may not be as awesome as Neil Patrick Harris’s delightful “puppet dreams,” but they’re a bit like watching a Fellini film on hallucinogenic drugs.

SEC Revolving Door Fuels Wall Street’s Too Big To Fail Problem

WASHINGTON — The steady flow of officials from the Securities and Exchange Commission into top corporate jobs feeds a regulatory culture of weak law enforcement and preferential treatment for big banks, according to a new report from the Project on Government Oversight.

The group, a non-partisan investigative watchdog, said information it obtained through a Freedom of Information Act request shows 419 former SEC employees filed at least 1,949 disclosure statements revealing that they planned to represent a private-sector client with SEC business from 2001 to 2010. SEC employees are only required to file disclosure statements for the first two years after leaving the agency.

The flood of former SEC officials pressing the agency to go easy on their new private sector clients has influenced the outcome of dozens of cases in which the SEC issues official waivers exempting companies from standard penalties, the report said. These waivers appeared especially generous in cases involving repeat offenders — companies that the SEC sanctions for multiple violations within a few years.

Grammys 2013 Beauty: Best & Worst Hair And Makeup On The Red Carpet (PHOTOS)

Music artists (and wannabes) have made the Grammys one of the must-watched events in Hollywood. From Nicki Minaj’s Bride of Frankenstein-meets-cheetah print pixie (looks like she skipped out on making a scene this year) to Christina Aguilera’s huge flop at looking like a flapper, not every beauty moment is a hit.

Red-carpet veterans Beyoncé and Jennifer Lopez proved that simple hair and makeup is sometimes the best way to go, while songbirds Carrie Underwood and Taylor Swift fell short a few notes in heavy eye makeup and a childish braided updo, respectively. But Estonian singer Kerli made up for Lady Gaga’s absence in the weirdest Grammys beauty look we’ve seen so far.

See these head-turning beauty looks and more in our slideshow below, then check out the fashion hits and misses at the 2013 Grammys.
