Pinterest updates Android app, improves group boards

On Friday, Pinterest announced that it would be updating its Android app to version 1.3.2, adding better group board support. As of today, that update is now live and available from both the Google Play Store and the Kindle app store. Those who use Pinterest frequently from their Android mobile will be happy with the changes, which improve the overall experience while adding some handy functionality that was previously lacking.

This update centers around its group boards, with the improvements all dealing with that. Specifically, the update concerns contributors on boards, as well as the groups you’re following. With the update, users can now check out which other contributors are pinning to the same board as you, allowing you to spot those with similar interests, for example.

Likewise, users now have more control over boards in general. When you receive a new board invitation, you’ll have the option of either accepting it and ignoring it. If you get tired of one of the group boards you’re part of or want to leave it for some other reason, you can now do that from your Android smartphone or tablet after updating.

The app allows users to pin images from the device’s camera as well as images found online. Users can grab the update from the Google Play Store; it’s available for Android 2.2 and higher, and is 5.5MB in size. You can check out its other features, as well as screenshots of the app, at the Play Store here.

Leigh Weingus: ‘Girls’ Season 2, Episode 5 Recap: ‘One Man’s Trash’

I dearly missed the presence of Marnie, Jessa and Soshanna on this week’s episode of “Girls.” This is partially due to the balance and wit their characters provide in the midst of sad and ridiculous plot lines, but also because Hannah has officially hit a big fat zero on the togetherness scale.

Surface Pro Photoshop Support: Status Update

Surface Pro Photoshop Support: Status Update

Since we published our Microsoft Surface Pro Review (read it here), many people asked if Photoshop did work with the pressure-sensitive stylus. First of all, let’s shed some context: the Microsoft Surface Pro and its stylus are capable of recognizing the pen’s pressure. I’ve been able to see that for myself by using software like OneNote 2003, and the pressure sensitivity works great (more pressure = thicker line). That’s true for other software like Microsoft Fresh Paint, AutoDesk Sketchbook Express and others. (more…)

Justin Timberlake Grammys Performance: ‘Suit & Tie’ With Jay-Z

Justin Timberlake’s Grammys performance included his “Suit & Tie,” which brought Jay-Z out of his seat and briefly turned the telecast to black and white, as well as “Pusher Love Girl.”

The singer’s big return to music has perhaps only been eclipsed in press coverage by Beyonce’s Inauguration/Super Bowl/Destiny’s Child combo punch. The singer first announced that he had recorded new music, then released the Jay-Z-featuring single “Suit & Tie.” Timberlake kept himself in the news by announcing a March 19 release date for the album, which is titled “The 20/20 Experience.” Finally, a handwritten tracklist (sans featured guests). Good work, JT.

Timberlake warmed up for the Grammys gig with a pre-Super Bowl party performance, where he debuted two additional new songs, “Pusher Love Girl” and “That Girl.”
