iPhone 6 tipped to team with iPhone 5S inside 2013

The iPhone 6 is just around the corner with the iPhone 5S tagging along with it, both of these devices claimed by a Chinese blogging site’s “inside source.” This source spoke this morning on Sina Tech of two new models, one of them an upgraded (yet largely similar) iPhone 5 unit with the all-to-familiar “S” attached to its end. The other has been called the iPhone 6 and has been claimed to be coming with between a 4.8 and a 5-inch display, “based on visual inspection.”

This fellow goes by the name Old Yao and has claimed that his own source is a “buddy” of his, he speaking with an Apple vendor with eyes on two new Apple phones set to be released within the year. With the iPhone 5S it would appear that users will be getting a device with upgraded innards on the whole. This upgrade should be quite similar to the updated bits and pieces we saw between the iPhone 4 and the iPhone 4S.

With the iPhone 6, the display is said to not only be larger, it’s specifically claimed in a note to be 4.8 inches in size or 5 inches in size. The image you see above comes from iMore where writer/illustrator Rene Richie has mocked up what the iPhone 6 might look like compared with a collection of popular devices. You’ll see the Samsung Galaxy S III, iPhone 5, Nokia Lumia 900, BlackBerry Dev Alpha, and Samsung Galaxy Note II. As you can see, it’s been generally accepted thus far that the iPhone 6 will have essentially the same amount of pixels as the iPhone 5, just spread out a bit more as it is with the iPad mini compared with the iPad 2.

With the iPhone 6 we’re also seeing claims from Old Yao that hardware will be wider, longer, thinner, and lighter. Strangely it does seem that he was invited to share this information with the public just so long as he did not take photographs of the devices. Be sure to coat the inside of your daily dose of iPhone 6 news today with salt, salt, and a bit more salt.

Cancer Survivors Star In Fashion Show In Ecuador

QUITO, Ecuador — Just minutes before showtime, the neophyte models fidgeted nervously as helpers rushed to put the final touches on makeup and adjust the clothes.

But when the time came, the 15 young women and men, each in turn, headed down the catwalk – some gracefully, others a little more challenged by the artificial limbs they all use after surviving cancer.

Nintendo Bundles Deluxe Wii U, ZombiU & Pro Controller For $390 Starting Feb 17

Nintendo Bundles Deluxe Wii U, ZombiU & Pro Controller For $390 Starting Feb 17

Even though Nintendo has been generally optimistic about its Wii U sales as just last month, they were crowing of its sales surpassing the Wii’s sales at the time of its launch, their new console has yet to be considered a hit. A number of hardware issues that will soon receive improvements, a lack of titles worth purchasing the system for as well as the latest news of once exclusive Rayman Legends now going multiplatform certainly haven’t helped gamers flock to their nearest retailer to purchase the Wii U.

Nintendo is announcing today a new bundle that will hopefully entice potential Wii U customers to purchase the system, especially you adults out there that love a good zombie-killing game. The new bundle packages a Wii U Deluxe Set along with arguably one of the better Wii U games currently available, Ubisoft’s ZombiU. If that wasn’t enough, the bundle also includes a Wii U Pro Controller and a ZombiU art book all for $389.99.

According to Nintendo, the bundle will save potential customers a total of $70 when compared to the retail price of each included product. If the ZombiU bundle has piqued your interest, you can expect to be available at retailers on February 17.

EA posts finished Origin for Mac, widens gamers’ worlds

EA posts finished Origin for Mac, widens gamers' worlds

EA moves faster than we thought. Origin for Mac was in alpha just two weeks ago, and yet it’s already launching to the public. The completed gaming portal gives Mac users their software library, socialization and the online store in an interface that will be mostly familiar to Windows players. While the selection of Mac-native titles is currently narrow — we hope you really like Batman and Dragon Age 2 — there’s also a Steam Play-like level of cross-platform support, where a game bought for the Mac or Windows will be free to download for the other OS. Origin is currently too small to directly challenge the Mac App Store or Steam, but it’s a step forward for computer gamers wanting platform parity — and when it’s free to download, it won’t hurt to have a look.

Do Bush’s Paintings Tell Us Anything About The Former President?

Thanks to a hacker with the odd sounding handle of Guccifer (Lucifer of Gucci?) we have all been blessed with a glimpse of the artistic private life of former US President George W. Bush. Guccifer tapped into various Bush emails from the period of 2009–2012, which included private correspondence and family photos, but also his art, as The Smoking Gun reported:

Woody Harrelson Calls ‘Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ Visually ‘Staggering’

Woody Harrelson gave “Hunger Games” fans something to get excited over, when he revealed that the visuals for the upcoming film “Catching Fire” are simply “staggering.”

Harrelson, who plays Haymitch Abernathy in the series, sat down with MTV News to talk about the big-screen adaptation of “Catching Fire,” the second book in the Suzanne Collins trilogy. When discussing what viewers can expect, Harrelson hinted at some amazing visuals.

“It’s almost impossible to describe, it’s so unusual,” he told MTV of the “staggering” cinematography to come. “Even ice in the glass, even the glasses are not normal glasses. There’s nothing that you’ve seen before. It’s real original, artistic vision. I think people are going to like it.”

Jon Stewart: Big Banks A Lot Like A ‘Spoiled Child’

If you ask Jon Stewart, he’ll tell you that big banks, with all their economy-wrecking abilities, are acting like total babies.

“The people that have created the crisis have to be coddled because you never know when they might go off again,” Stewart said on The Daily Show on Thursday. “You never know when they might throw the entire economy over a cliff again, so it’s like a spoiled child.”

Stewart made the comments while interviewing ex-TARP watchdog Neil Barofsky, whose book Bailout has just been released in paperback. Barofsky told Stewart that the government enforced “an incredible double standard” by bailing out banks but not underwater homeowners.
