Apple Pen Computer Patent Reissued

Apple Pen Computer Patent ReissuedApple has recently been issued their pen computer patent, although this time around, the reissued patent would throw in the likes of cellular connectivity in order to help it keep up with the Joneses, while dropping hints of a future mobile device from the house of Cupertino. This patent was originally filed for internationally 15 years ago, where it was described as “a mobile computer encased in a pen”. Titled “Portable computers,” the invention was assigned to British Telecommunications PLC originally, where this multifunction device will feature a pair of accelerometers that allowed it to recognize handwritten input, while there is also an integrated display and an embedded touch strip for a graphical user interface when it came to navigation.

Apple was transferred the U.S. patent rights just half a decade ago, and this time around, the patent carries the reissued designation of RE44,103, which will further broaden the patent language of the original filing. Even if this unique pen computer were to be released, I am quite sure that it will not function as an iPhone replacement, how about you?

Don’t Buy the Verizon T-Mobile iPhone 4 5 (UPDATE)

The day that Verizon T-Mobile gets the iPhone will be remembered as glorious by everybody who’s dropped 12 calls in a row, been taunted by meaningless signal bars stared lecherously at all their friends’ nubile iPhones and just plain had a miserable AT&T T-Mobile Sidekick experience. But they shouldn’t buy one. More »

T-Mobile LTE live in seven markets starting today

Today at T-Mobile’s UNcarrier event in New York City, the company officially launched its 4G LTE network in seven markets around the US. These cities include Baltimore, Houston, Kansas City, Las Vegas, Phoenix, San Jose, and Washington DC. T-Mobile expects its 4G LTE network to reach 100 million Americans by mid-2013, and 200 million people by the end of 2013.

tmogo2-1-580x409

We’ve already seen what LTE devices will be available on T-Mobile, but those devices are pretty much useless without the LTE network to go along with it. Of course, only seven markets in the US is nothing close to what Verizon and AT&T currently have, but if T-Mobile’s goal of 200 million people by the end of the year is met, the competition between the three of these carriers could heat up quick.

Earlier, it was said that T-Mobile’s LTE was detected in eight cities before the launch, including Denver, New Orleans, San Diego, New York, and Seattle, for which these cities weren’t officially announced by T-Mobile today. These cities may be markets that will see the flip being switched shortly, but T-Mobile didn’t include these cities in their announcement during today’s event.

However, before the official launch of the LTE, many T-Mobile users reported being able to access LTE in several cities such as Phoenix, Houston, and San Jose, which wasn’t all too surprising, considering that T-Mobile most likely wanted these areas live with LTE as the carrier made the announcement.

Not only that, it’s compatible with both Mac OSX 10.8 and Windows 8, plus Microsofties get the added benefit of compatibility with the Win8 Carrier application so users can easily access real-time data usage info for every connected gadget. As for the hardware, the Sonic 2.0 has a 1.77-inch color LCD on the front, a 3,000 mAh battery, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi and quadband LTE and 3G radios on board. T-Mobile HTC One Coming ‘Soon’ For $99

T Mobile HTC One Coming Soon For $99

The HTC One was officially delayed much to the chagrin of HTC last week due to its camera with an expected release window of “before the end of April.” But that hasn’t stopped carriers from reporting when exactly they’d be receiving the HTC One.

We already know AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile are expected to carry the HTC One when it decides to be made available, but T-Mobile’s CEO John Legere said during the carrier’s UnCarrier event in New York City the company plans to have the HTC One available “soon.” The HTC One will be available as part of T-Mobile’s new pricing plans which can have you walking away with a device for only $99 at the time of purchase. Facebook Comments Bug Reset Like Counts

Facebook Comments Bug Reset Like Counts You know what they say about Murphy’s Law – anything that can go wrong, will go wrong, or something to that effect. Well, when it comes to a social network like Facebook, we would have more or less expected it to function the way it should, that is, being bug-free and all after all this while of fine tuning. Apparently not, as Murphy’s Law decides to drop by the world’s largest and most popular social network, where a new bug actually temporarily reset Like counts and comment threads on sites that carry its now ubiquitous Like buttons and Comments plug-in.

It is good to know, however, that this is but a temporary situation, as all Like counts as well as comments ought to be restored to the original or most recent state once Facebook has finalized a fix. This particular Facebook comments bug happened on March 25th in the afternoon, according to certain websites, where the majority of those sites had not www URL prefix. Well, all’s well that ends well, I suppose.

Woman breaks into house to browse Facebook, police say

(Credit: Chris Matyszczyk/CNET)

It’s possibly one of the less pleasant experiences in life to come home after a night with your boyfriend to discover someone is using your laptop.

Yes, sitting right there in your living room, browsing her Facebook page as if this was, in fact, her house.

This, sadly, is what apparently happened to a 33-year-old resident of Athens, Ga.

As the Athens Banner-Herald has it, the homeowner got back to her house Sunday lunchtime to find an unknown (and currently unnamed) blond woman allegedly browsing Facebook.

It’s not recorded whether this blond lady might have been in desperate need of catching up with friends or whether she had been overtaken by the urge to post footage from a recent social event.

The police, though, say that the blonde was kind and aware enough to say sorry in something of a halting manner before grabbing her things and scarpering.

iPhone 5 gets HD Voice on T-Mobile exclusively

T-Mobile has just announced that it will be launching its iPhone devices from the get-go. You will be able to purchase an iPhone 5 for a $99.99 down payment and $20 payments over the course of 24 months. You can also get the iPhone 4S for a $69.99 down payment and $20 payments over 24 months, or the iPhone 4 for a $14.00 down payment and $15 payments over 24 months. Those of you planning on getting the iPhone 5 on T-Mobile will be getting an extra treat.

iPhone 5 gets HD Voice on T-Mobile exclusively

Those of you with T-Mobile’s iPhone 5 will be able to take advantage of T-Mobile’s HD Voice calls. T-Mobile will be the only major carrier to offer HD Voice calls on the iPhone 5, something that can set it apart from the rest of the competition. With HD Voice calls, you will have “crystal-clear high-definition calling and significantly reduced background noise” when making a phone call to someone else with an HD Voice-capable phone.

T-Mobile launched HD Voice on January 8th during CES. The service uses Wideband Adaptive Multi-Rate (WB-AMR) to improve voice calls between two compatible phones. Currently the phones that support HD Voice calling are T-Mobile’s iPhone 5, Samsung Galaxy S III, HTC One, and Nokia Astound. Calls have to be made either through T-Mobile’s 3G, 4G HSPA+, or 4G LTE network. HD Voice calls cannot be made over WiFi.

The iPhone 5 will be able to fully take advantage of HD Voice calls now that T-Mobile’s LTE networks are launching today. So far, Phoenix and San Jose have already gotten their T-Mobile 4G LTE networks launched, but later on today, we should be seeing Baltimore, Houston, Kansas City, Las Vegas, and Washington D.C. light up with T-Mobile’s LTE network as well. Check out our timeline below to see what other great announcements T-Mobile has made.

Also be sure to have a look at our full iPhone 5 review right this minute and get pumped up about the full release of the T-Mobile edition now!
