Thanks to the crazy prevalence of dash-cams in Russia, we got an amazing, multi-viewpoint look at last month’s monster meteor strike just hours after it happened. But there’s more to see than just the flashes in the sky. PBS’s Nova dug in deep to figure out the details of the incident, and the disaster it could have been. The disaster it might be next time if we don’t keep a close watch on the skies. More »
We wouldn’t recommend taking advice from Snooki when it comes to, well, most things. But when the erstwhile “Jersey Shore” star decided to offer up some words of wisdom to Kim Kardashian, we were more than willing to eavesdrop — out of sheer curiosity, of course.
Addressing the pregnant star in her capacity as Celebrity Baby Correspondent for Celebuzz (looks like she’s found a second career?), Snooki dishes about “how to look glam during labor — because it’s a bitch.”
“If your face isn’t already made up when your water breaks,” new mom Snooki says in the Celebuzz video, “you have plenty of time to do it in the hospital when you’re waiting to dilate.” Yippee! Just make sure to choose your color palette wisely, she says, seeing as hospital lighting and decor is totally drab.

LOS ANGELES — Police said Saturday they are looking for a transient in the kidnapping of a 10-year-old girl who was snatched from her San Fernando Valley home before dawn last week and abandoned hours later in front of a hospital.
Investigators identified 30-year-old Tobias Dustin Summers as a suspect in the case but couldn’t elaborate on the motive or what led them to him. Police don’t know if the girl was targeted but said they don’t believe Summers had a connection to her family.
With spring comes the time to take care of the outdoor spaces that we have ignored all winter. For those who love to garden it is a time they have looked forward to with gusto. For those who aren’t so inclined they would rather do just about anything else. Now the non-gardeners have a new, unusual, and wild option — with Flower Grenades.
More than half of male African-American high school dropouts are unemployed, according to a new online analysis of unemployment data by Remapping Debate, a left-of-center news site in New York.
“This is an emergency, this is a catastrophe [but Washington is] not rating it as a catastrophe,” said the site’s editor, Craig Gurian, told The Daily Caller.
The rate is “unbelievable, it is unbelievable,” said a Republican Senate staff member.

It’s always good to have some tunes on tap that sound their best at ear-shattering volumes, and if you’re in the market, Nine Inch Nail’s “The Day The World Went Away” deserves a spot at the top of the list. More »
Christmas photos get a bad rap for being awkward, but families in pastel outfits at Easter brunch give those wearing ugly holiday sweaters a run for their money. Plus, as we already know, setting children on a giant bunny’s lap is a recipe for picture disaster (or gold, depending on how you look at it). With that in mind, we bring back the annual Easter roundup from the guys at Awkward Family Photos. Enjoy the vintage fun, and have a happy holiday!

Planning to snag that maxed out HTC One in the US? AT&T is where you’ll have to go, then. The 64GB variant of the device is an AT&T exclusive, as revealed by a recently uploaded video to the service provider’s YouTube channel. The 32GB One will also be on offer, though there’s no word on exactly how much either will be priced at or an exact arrival date — April is the most specific we’ve heard from HTC. Verizon is also expected to carry the device, of course, but AT&T will certainly be “the one” for folks needing that doubled storage space on a two-year agreement. Check out the video for yourself after the break.

It seems like Facebook is just testing out a whole bunch of new features, and it doesn’t look like it has any intention of stopping anytime soon. Today, it was discovered that Facebook is testing out a new button on the desktop version of its service. The new button appears on the top right of your Facebook page, right next to your profile link. The button pops up the “How are you feeling” post-a-status screen.
The button was first discovered by Mashable’s Alex Fitzpatrick. The button appears to be rolling out to a small test group, and it’s still up in the air about whether or not this button will be rolled out to the rest of Facebook’s users. It allows users to update their status no matter which page they’re on. So if you’re on your friend’s Facebook page, and you just thought of something you want to send to the entirety of your Facebook friends list, you can just click the button to update your status.
Many people are speculating that Facebook is borrowing its features from Twitter. The button looks awfully similar to Twitter’s “Compose a tweet” button, especially with the pop-up button over a faded background. Facebook also renamed its “subscribers” to “followers”, and is planning on implementing a hashtag feature in its service soon, a feature that was popularized by Twitter.
Alongside the upcoming addition of the “post-a-status” button, Facebook has also added an update to Facebook Events. Event planners, as well as event attendees, will now be able to see the weather conditions for their upcoming events. Facebook is also rolling out a new feature to Facebook Pages that organizes comments in more simple, threaded conversations. Facebook has been constantly testing out new features this month, so it’ll be interesting what else will pop out in the next few days.
