MILWAUKEE (AP) — Kobe Bryant has a bone spur in his left foot.

Following Los Angeles’ 113-103 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks on Thursday night, the Lakers revealed the injury. He left the arena using one crutch, but appeared to be walking without pain.

Bryant led the Lakers with 30 points, leaving him four points behind Wilt Chamberlain for fourth place on the NBA’s career list. Bryant played 36½ minutes and didn’t show any signs of difficulty during the game.

T-Mobile confirms Bellevue layoffs

Earlier this month, sources said that T-Mobile would be laying off employees at its Bellevue headquarters, which had mostly been shielded from the other layoffs it had last year. T-Mobile declined commenting on the rumor for quite some time, but has finally confirmed that it did, indeed, let go of quite a few employees.

According to the original rumor, the carrier would be laying off over 100 individuals in its marketing group, and that others would be on the chopping block as well. This number was fairly spot on, with Seattle Times reporting that 100 people in marketing were let go, in addition to between 200 and 300 individuals from the operations group. The layoffs went all the way up to senior vice presidents.

Said T-Mobile in a statement: “We are making some operational changes to better align our business with our new strategy and position T-Mobile for growth. This affects a small number of employees relative to the overall size of the business, and while we don’t take these actions lightly, these adjustments to how we invest in the business will enable us to better focus our resources as we implement this strategy.”

One employee who was let go spoke with the Seattle Times, stating that employees knew the layoffs were underway because HR reserved conference rooms, and those affected were notified to meet with their supervisor. The employee went on to state that the layoffs were handled in an unprofessional manner, with employees being told that they had 30 minutes to hand in their badge and leave.

Cyro Jellyfish Robot

Cyro Jellyfish RobotJust what is the biggest jellyfish that you have ever come across whenever you are at the seaside, or traveling on a boat over a body of seawater? Well, most of these tend to be small, and the general rule of thumb is this – the smaller they are, the more poisonous it is. Should you come across this five-and-a-half-foot robot jellyfish, surely you would be astonished, and trust the military to be among the first few folks to come up with a use for it – to perform Navy underwater surveillance down the road, of course.

The idea of the Cyro jellyfish robot was realized thanks to the efforts of the team of engineers over at Virginia Tech, and Cyro will be autonomous in nature, sporting eight mechanical legs that ring its metal chassis. Specially designed to mimic the unique, efficient underwater propulsion of a jellyfish, Cyro will come covered in silicone so that it looks just like the real deal when moving underwater, but one thing’s for sure – Cyro lacks the killer instinct, and is extremely heavy, – 170 pounds to be exact.

Meizu MX3 Might Share A Close Resemblance To The HTC One

Meizu MX3 Might Share A Close Resemblance To The HTC OneIt was slightly more than a week ago when we brought you word that the Meizu MX3 is rumored to come with a Full HD display, and here we are with more word on what the Meizu MX3 is all about. Apparently, this China-based company must have plenty of respect for Taiwanese firm HTC, considering how a render that you can check out on the right does seem to show as though the Meizu MX3 shares a very close physical resemblance to the notoriously difficult to repair HTC One.

Sure, whispers of a 5.1” Full HD display on the Meizu MX3 have been going around for over a week now, but what we are concentrating on this time around would be the physical looks of the Meizu MX3, which shows off a rather narrow bezel that resembles the flagship from HTC One. Still, we have absolutely no idea on when the Meizu MX3 will be released as Meizu themselves did not offer any hints, but sometime this summer could be a potentially good bet – it normally is this way.

BlackBerry 10 Gets Facebook And Twitter Update

BlackBerry 10 Gets Facebook And Twitter UpdateThese days, it is no longer enough that your company happens to churn out the most powerful and advanced hardware on the market, if it does not have the relevant software to go along with it. Having said that, the recently introduced BlackBerry 10 platform has been deemed by certain quarters to be BlackBerry’s last chance saloon at making it in the mobile operating system environment, and getting the support of major app developers would be a vital cog in keeping it alive and competitive. Hence, it is good to hear that the BlackBerry 10 will soon receive updated Facebook and Twitter applications to help it keep up with the times.

You will be able to find new features in Facebook for BlackBerry 10, where among them include the ability to locate nearby friends, to be able to save photos from Facebook to the BlackBerry device itself, and even gain from improved photo tagging. Twitter for BlackBerry 10 will also deliver the similar Connect Tab which can be found on other platforms, and users are now able to check out additional content which has been embedded within Tweets.

Softbank and Sprint say no to Huawei in hopes of getting merger back on track

DNP Softbank and Sprint say no to Huawei network equipment in hopes of getting merger back on track

In an effort to speed up an already contested $20.1 billion merger, Softbank and Sprint have reportedly agreed not to use Huawei network equipment within the US carrier’s existing network. In fact, the Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, Mike Rogers, recently told The New York Times that the two outfits have pledged to remove Huawei hardware from Clearwire’s network, too. These promises are likely a reaction to Congress’ security concerns, which saw Huawei exiled from America’s first responder network back in October. While Rogers is happy with Softbank and Sprint’s new game plan, this deal is far from done. The two firms still need to make it past the Committee on Foreign Investment in the US, which reviews national security risks connected to business transactions. Until then, Dan Hesse may wanna hold off on any extracurricular activities.
