"I know that the movies will not center around these characters, but I wanted to create an image based on what I thought could happen if there was no new cast," said artist Adam Schickling.

If you’re on the fence about seeing an elder Luke, Han, and Leia return to the next installment of “Star Wars,” it’s possible artist Adam Schickling‘s illustration of a mock “Episode VII” poster could get you in the mood to see some geriatric Jedis on the silver screen.
Schickling, a 37-year-old professional illustrator based in New York, drew and painted the 30×40-inch “Star Wars” art by hand over the course of four weeks. The mock poster features most of the beloved characters from the original trilogy — including Luke, Han, Leia, Chewbacca, Lando, R2-D2, and C-3PO — with some extra gray hair and wrinkles. Well, except the droids, who don’t really age.

Apparently, Nexus 4 owners have been having some issues keeping their new phone from flying off their desk and ending up on the floor. Because of the rear glass panel, the phone can slide around fairly easily depending on the type of surface it’s on. However, Google redesigned the phone just slightly to prevent unnecessary sliding.
According to German site MobiFlip, the new Nexus 4 features two small nubs towards the bottom of the phone, where the glass meets the edge. These small nubs raise the back of the device just slightly off of the surface to prevent it from sliding around and possibly falling onto the floor causing any kind of damage.
The small nubs also allow the sound coming out of the phone’s speaker to be louder when the device is laid on its back. They’re barely noticeable, but they can make a huge difference in several ways. On top of that, the camera’s lens has been updated as well, with less area around the lens being exposed. We’re not sure if this was because the old lens wasn’t working as efficiently, or if it’s just a simple design tweak that had nothing to do with the camera itself.
Overall, it’s nice to see Google still focusing on the Nexus 4 and improving the hardware even though the phone has already been released. However, those who already own the phone are out of luck, and you’ll have to resort to the bumper case to get a similar effect. However, for those still thinking about buying a Nexus 4, your unit may come with the new changes.

If the one thing you wanted from your Nexus 4 was LTE (we mean proper support), then still no joy. That said, some recent modifications suggest that LG and Google are still working to improve it in other — albeit utilitarian — ways. Spotted by German site MobiFlip, was the addition of a small protuberance at the base of the rear, and a difference in the aperture of the camera hole. It’s suggested that the former might exist to help project sound from the rear speakers while the phone rests on a table, or to prevent that smooth, glass back from scratches. The camera tweak, however seems less clear, and possibly less functional in its existence. So, if you have one of the newer designs, let us know when and where you got it. If you don’t, then just think of yours as a limited edition.

When we first played the game known as Auralux, it was back in July of 2012 on a Google Nexus 7 tablet – now this masterpiece has come to iOS. Finally you’ll be able to experience what NVIDIA Tegra smartphone and tablet users have been tapping along with for so many months – Wardrum Studios has brought the minimalistic battle of brightness to your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch at last! And it feels so fabulous!
What you’re getting here is a game that was originally released on the NVIDIA TegraZone. That means that NVIDIA helped to optimize the game (as it existed back then) for Android devices working with their Tegra processor lineup. Now that Wardrum Studios has given the world a taste of that iteration of the game, an Apple-hungry twin is born.
Here with the iOS version of Auralux you’re getting basically the same game with the same game mechanics, this time with no restrictions on which processor you’ve got (since iOS is run by Apple, and Apple commands all iOS devices). This game consists of a series of planets, each of them owned by whichever team of colored points of light has taken it over.
Once you’ve taken over a planet, your planet begins to produce more points of light. As you move forward to other planets, you’ll find that your enemies (different colors) will be wanting to command planets as well. Once you and an enemy reach a point where you both want the same planet, you’ll do battle. This whole while you’ll be hearing some rather lovely background music – the battle adds to this ambiance with a song all its own.
This app is available in the iTunes Appstore right this minute for free. The folks at Wardrum Studios make their cash from your need to expand the game once you’ve beaten the first several levels. You can continue to challenge yourself to beat these levels over and over again, of course – if you get that far – or you can pick up packs of levels with in-game purchases. Make with the fun!

Last week at the Suvarnabhumi International Airport in Bangkok authorities arrested a Thai man after discovering 54 Ploughshare Tortoises in a suitcase he retrieved from a luggage carousel. That’s a lot of tortoises, particularly when you consider that the Ploughshare is one of the rarest species on the planet, numbering just 400 around the world. More »
Not too long after the Samsung Galaxy S 4 was announced, we started hearing whispers of a “miniature” version of the device — which makes sense, given the Galaxy S III had a smaller sidekick of its own. Today, however, Bloomberg reported the unannounced device is indeed coming soon after the flagship makes its appearance at the end of April. If it follows a similar pattern to its bite-sized predecessor, it likely will be offered in Europe as a lower-cost alternative to the Galaxy S 4. The device is rumored to offer a dual-core 1.6GHz processor, a 4.3-inch display and 8MP camera. Sadly, no official details were given, but we’ve reached out to Samsung officials for comment and will update when we receive word.
Update: Samsung pinged back with the following comment, which doesn’t do much towards confirming or denying whether or not the GS 4 mini is indeed on the horizon. A spokesperson informed us: “We have not announced the product mentioned in the Bloomberg story.“
