iPhone 5 jailbreak tweak allows AT&T users to hop over to T-Mobile

T-Mobile announced earlier this week that the iPhone 5 would be coming to the carrier, which marks the first time that T-Mobile has officially carried Apple’s phone. However, while AT&T models of the iPhone 5 can be updated to support T-Mobile’s AWS bands, jailbroken iPhones can’t be tampered with in such a way, or else the jailbreak would be lost. However, a new jailbreak tweak fixes this.

If you’re jailbroken and want to make your AT&T iPhone 5 compatible with T-Mobile’s LTE network, there’s a new jailbreak tweak that allows you to do that without messing up your jailbreak status. All it takes is adding a repository to Cydia, installing a patch, and editing a bit of text. There’s 15 steps in total, which can seem daunting, but take it one step at a time and you should be fine.

However, do this at your own risk. If you’re jailbroken, then you probably will be familiar with the process, but it’s a bit more complicated than most jailbreak tweaks. As in, it’s not as simple as downloading a Cydia tweak and installing it. You’ll have to open up iFile and dig deep into the phone’s file system to edit some text files.

We wouldn’t be surprised if a handful of AT&T users switched over to T-Mobile and brought along their iPhone 5, so this tweak will definitely be of use to all those jailbreakers out there. T-Mobile’s plans are something we’ve never seen before in a major carrier, so while it is a bold move for the company, it may catch on quickly.

L.K. Bennett Somerset Collection Store Brings Upscale London Style To Detroit (VIDEO)

Detroit may not have its own monarchy, but that doesn’t mean local ladies can’t outfit themselves in royal fashion on this side of the pond. Now Motor City shopping mavens can snatch up new spring styles from a collection that’s favored by ultimate British trendsetter Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge.

The first L.K. Bennett store in Michigan opened late last fall in Troy’s Somerset Collection. From one store that began in Wimbledon in 1990, L.K. Bennett has now expanded to 160 stores around the world.

Here’s a shot of the Duchess photographed last fall at the Welsh Rugby Charitable Trust in her red L.K. Bennett coat, which she paired with a color-matching Gucci clutch.

Lockheed Martin’s technology hub brings startups closer to government needs

Lockheed Martin's technology hub brings startups closer to government needs

Wondering who would be the first to concoct a Kickstarter for governmental wishes? We suppose it’s Lockheed Martin. Today, the aforementioned outfit has launched an initiative “aimed at expanding its collaboration with Silicon Valley companies to meet the diverse technology needs of the federal government.” Called the Lockheed Martin Silicon Valley Alliance, the hub will reportedly “provide the federal government with greater visibility into innovative technology solutions developed locally,” even going so far as to suggest that a game developer could use their resources in order to improve the realism of a military simulation system. It sounds as if Lockheed will end up being the middleman between aspiring companies and entities like the Department of Defense and NASA, essentially ensuring that whatever is built meets federal requirements. Those interested in venturing down such a rabbit hole can give the source link a look, but as always, we’d caution you to register at your own risk.

Agnieszka Radwanska Hits Behind-The-Back Winner Against Kirsten Flipkens (VIDEO)

Agnieszka Radwanska was in a difficult position to return Kirsten Flipkens’ backhanded laser down the line during the second set of their Sony Open Quarterfinals match in Miami, Fla. The 24-year-old from Poland attempted to chase it down, but the ball grazed the net, causing her to run past it.

That didn’t matter.

The fourth-ranked women’s tennis player in the world managed to turn herself around and flick a no-look, behind-the-back winner across the court.
