The family of a Phoenix man who committed suicide this past September has filed a lawsuit against Fox News over the live broadcast of the event. Understandably, the family says that they suffered emotional distress after the broadcast, which was seen on TV sets and computer screens all over the world. Anchor Shepard Smith apologized immediately after airing the suicide, but a national debate about the disturbing voyeurism of televised police chases

Heineken is setting out to create a wave on social media with their newest advertising ploy: interactive beer bottles. “Interactive” might sound a bit misleading, since all they do is light up when the bottle is lifted.
So how does it work? Each bottle has a green plastic base screwed at the bottom. This base has been fitted with a wireless sensor and LED lights. The former detects when the bottle has been lifted, causing the latter to sparkle. The sensor also causes the LED lights to flash in sync with the music, if there happens to be any loud tunes playing where you are.
Jeremy Brook, who’s Heineken’s head of digital and media innovation, foresees that these types of advertising will lead to a “massive area of growth and creativity for brands.” He adds: “It’s not yet totally defined, but it will be.”
The idea for the interactive beer bottle was thought up by digital agency Tribal DDB.

Windows Phone 8 Developer Mike Hole posted a link to the tools on his blog, plus detailed notes with sample code and a how-to for the emulator. With all this info, maybe you’ll write a few of the apps for the hip and sexy people from that Kickstarter video.

Even compared to oil tankers, she’s more like a city than a boat—albeit a city that few people ever get to explore. But in 2010, a young photographer named Jakob Wagner became one of the few non-employee passengers to board Emma.
