If you rode a mountain bike in the 1980s or 90s, suspension was just a dream—something only the rich kids could afford. Gradually, though, it became a must-have feature for serious trail riders. It began with shocks in the front fork, and later evolved to full suspension with shocks on both wheels—and eventually, spring-driven suspension gave way to pneumatic. But there was a problem.

Want to take a virtual field trip? Or find a pizza place nearby? Or break up with someone? Well, there’s an app for that. And I mean, all of that.
The apps for the first two functions have been around for a while now. As for the third function – well, let’s just say the app for that went viral recently.
It’s called the BreakUp Text app and it will apparently break up with your not-so-significant-anymore other for you. Via text. Because yeah, some people actually do that and if you don’t have the guts to do it yourself, then you might find some use for this.
You can choose from serious and casual reasons for the break-up. Aside from that, you can also use the app to pen longer, supposedly heartfelt messages about why you want to end the relationship. Some people might take this as a joke, but don’t be surprised when others take this seriously as well.
One of the app’s creators, Jake Levine, explained: “As much as we did it as a joke, it has sort of captured a moment in time when tech is becoming more pervasive in our lives and relationships.”
Curious? The app can be downloaded from the iTunes app store for $0.99.

Less than a month after being acquitted of second-degree murder charges related to his killing of Florida teenager Trayvon Martin, George Zimmerman was reportedly caught speeding Wednesday, with a gun in the glove compartment of his vehicle. The incident took place in the town of Forney, Tex., TMZ reports.
Zimmerman, who informed police that the weapon was in the car shortly after being pulled over, was asked where he was going, to which he responded, “nowhere in particular,” according to the site.
This is the second time Zimmerman has been in the news since his trial ended on July 13.

Aztec Human Sacrifice Skull Unearthed After More Than 500 Years (PHOTO, VIDEO)
Posted in: Today's ChiliFor more than 500 years, the skull of a person who had been made into a human sacrifice by the Aztecs lay buried under Mexico City — until now.
Archaeologists discovered the skull alone in a type of vessel at the foot of an ancient temple in the Tlatelolco dig site in Mexico’s capital, according to a July 26 press release announcing the discovery. Researchers from Mexico’s National Anthropology and History Institute (INAH) said the skull was probably from a young male, perhaps a prisoner of war. The skull and its fragments have been dated to around 1500 A.D.
Salvador Guilliem, the director of the Tlatelolco site, noted in the INAH statement that a custodian assisting the clean up had alerted researchers in July to what appeared to be a vessel, leading to the discovery of the skull. Now researchers are beginning to examine the area where it was found.

Glass hasn’t exactly been revered for its brilliant image quality, but that’s not stopping Google from making a push among budding filmmakers. The Glass Creative Collective, a partnership with film and design schools, is intended to familiarize students at a handful of institutions with the video-capture wearable. Several colleges, including the Rhode Island School of Design, UCLA and the University of Southern California are on board — students will reportedly begin exploring the device as a filmmaking tool beginning this fall. Glass could be a fit for documentary filmmaking, and for capturing point-of-view footage, of course, but performance limitations would likely prevent it from taking on a starring role in any production. We’re a bit skeptical that the Creative Collective will be a booming success, but Google’s promised to circle back with results once the program gets off the ground.

Buckingham Palace’s Gardens Were Hiding The Rare White Helleborine Orchid (PHOTO)
Posted in: Today's ChiliIt’s official: Queen Elizabeth definitely has the best gardens ever.
According to the Natural History Museum in London, the white helleborine orchid, which hasn’t been seen in the area for more than 100 years, was discovered on the grounds of Buckingham Palace. Records show that the flower was last seen in 1900, so naturally scientists and botanists alike were stoked. “It is quite unusual to find the white helleborine north of the Thames, let alone in the middle of the city in the Queen’s back garden,” Dr. Mark Spencer said. “It shows just how important green spaces are in built-up areas for giving wildlife a refuge.”
