For many husbands and wives, a deep sense of unhappiness just isn’t a good enough reason to end their marriage.

Why? According to recent study by UK law firm Slater & Gordon, many unhappy spouses say they simply lack the courage to divorce. What’s more, of the 2,000 married people surveyed by the firm, a fifth said they felt trapped in their relationship but would only consider ending their marriage if their future financial security could be guaranteed. Perceptions of the fairness of the U.S. justice system increasingly break down along racial lines, according to a Gallup poll released Monday.

In the poll, taken days after George Zimmerman was found not guilty in the death of Trayvon Martin, 68 percent of blacks, but just 25 percent of whites, say the American justice system is biased against black people.

“Although data … before the Zimmerman verdict was announced — show that in a number of instances, blacks have become more positive about the status of race relations in this country, that is apparently not the case in terms of whether the justice system in this country is biased against blacks,” wrote Frank Newport, Gallup’s editor-in-chief.

Owner Michael Landrum then called the closure, said to involve a lockout over the non-payment of rent, a “very minor blip.”

A Southwest Airlines plane’s front landing gear collapsed during its arrival at LaGuardia Airport in New York Monday night, according to multiple reports. No injures have been reported. The airport is closed until further notice.

Bobby Abtahi, a one-time contender for Dallas City Council who was in the airport at the time of the incident, recounted the moment for The Dallas Morning News, saying the jet lost its nose wheels at Laguardia as it was pulling into a gate arriving from Nashville.

According to Reuters, the Boeing 737 was carrying “more than 100 passengers.” It originally departed from Nashville.
