Relationship Problems: Why Do People Stay In Unhappy Relationships?

Why? According to recent study by UK law firm Slater & Gordon, many unhappy spouses say they simply lack the courage to divorce. What’s more, of the 2,000 married people surveyed by the firm, a fifth said they felt trapped in their relationship but would only consider ending their marriage if their future financial security could be guaranteed. (Click here to see the top ten reasons spouses stay in unhappy relationships, according to the study.)

The marriage study hit a nerve with our divorced readers on Facebook and Twitter, so much so that many weighed in with their own thoughts on why people stay in unhappy relationships.

Bye Bye ‘Bunheads’: A Dramatic Farewell To ABC Family’s Canceled Series (VIDEO)

It’s official: “Bunheads” is no more. ABC Family finally dropped the axe on the fan-favorite bubble show from “Gilmore Girls” creator Amy Sherman-Palladino about small-town ballerinas and the quirky women (Sutton Foster, Kelly Bishop) who teach them.

We’re in mourning over the loss of another under-appreciated TV gem, and we figured the best way to pay our respects was to grieve openly. With the power of dance.

Above, an amazing example of what made “Bunheads” so enjoyable. Rebellious ballerina Sasha, wearing (appropriately) all black, dancing dramatically to a song that’s as ridiculous as some of the show’s plot lines, but no less catchy with its energy.

Views On Justice System’s Fairness Increasingly Divided By Race, Poll Finds

Perceptions of the fairness of the U.S. justice system increasingly break down along racial lines, according to a Gallup poll released Monday.

In the poll, taken days after George Zimmerman was found not guilty in the death of Trayvon Martin, 68 percent of blacks, but just 25 percent of whites, say the American justice system is biased against black people.

“Although data … before the Zimmerman verdict was announced — show that in a number of instances, blacks have become more positive about the status of race relations in this country, that is apparently not the case in terms of whether the justice system in this country is biased against blacks,” wrote Frank Newport, Gallup’s editor-in-chief.
