Apple has been making a number of improvements to its Maps iOS application, but ultimately, the service has yet to become as popular as competing services, such as Google Maps. Misinformation and inaccuracies seem to be some of the big issues plaguing Apple’s Maps, but if you’re someone who relies on public transportation, the service has been completely useless to you up until this point. Canon Powershot N Facebook Ready digital camera lets you share your crazy photos in a jiffy

Canon has always been right up there with the best of them when it comes to imaging technology, especially digital cameras – be it DSLRs or compact digital cameras that cater for the masses. This time around, in order to keep up with a generation that is addicted to social networks, Canon has introduced the Canon Powershot N Facebook-ready digital camera, allowing you to share your images and video instantly on Facebook at the press of a button. THis is pretty neat, but sometimes, there is the danger of posting up incriminating photos on the go without realizing it, only to kick yourself in the nuts when the chickens come home to roost.
Just how does the Canon Powershot N digital camera upload photos to your Facebook account without having to first transfer the capture images and videos onto a computer beforehand? That is pretty simple, it comes with an integrated Wi-Fi chipset, as well as a dedicated Facebook connect button to get the job done – as long as your Canon PowerShot N remains within vicinity of a working Wi-Fi network, of course.
Other hardware features of the Canon Powershot N include a 2.8-inch capacitive, tilt-touch panel LCD display that gives you the allowance and flexibility to shoot creative images at unique angles. Do you punch like a wuss? Need some extra force when you lay a smack down? Well, if you also want a good geek ring, here is the answer. It’s an Alien Xenomorph ring that conveniently transforms into brass knuckles. Bam! Someone is going to need a facehugger ice pack, sucker!
This ring from Kilroy’s Attic is scary just like the Alien Queen herself. But at least it doesn’t drool acid all over the place while it is punching your lights out. That would just be too realistic.

Activision CEO Eric Hirshberg on how Destiny was ‘born modern’ and why social connectivity will define the next-gen

Successive generations of console gaming have been, historically, defined by improvements in graphics. But Activision CEO Eric Hirshberg envisions a different future for the coming next-gen of gaming and it’s all about connectivity. As he told our own Ben Gilbert at Gamescom 2013 this week, “The same way that Xbox Live and PlayStation Network led to the big trend in this generation being multiplayer games, I think that some sort of connectivity and social amplification of games is probably something you’ll see a lot of creative activity around [in the next-gen].” Hirshberg offered up Destiny, Bungie’s upcoming hybrid FPS / persistent world game as a prime example of this trend, and referred to the title as being “born modern” — a video game and social network rolled into one.
Hirshberg’s aware that not all gamers are ready to jump ship from the current console generation. Which is why his company decided to invest in a new engine for Call of Duty: Ghosts to maximize the beauty of its visuals and audio, but still make it a multiplatform, cross-generational title. Activision’s even partnering up with retailers to offer gamers incentives (in the form of a minimal upgrade fee) to make the next-gen leap should they initially purchase the PS3 or Xbox 360 version.
As for where forward-facing virtual reality hardware like the Oculus Rift fits in, Hirshberg wasn’t as optimistic. He’s used the VR headset before, but primarily views it as a non-additive layer for gaming that’s better enjoyed in “small doses” due to its intensity.

The Barclays: Kevin Stadler Leads, Tiger Woods In Contention After Rainy Day 1 At Liberty National

It took him nearly 11 hours to complete a 7-under 64 at Liberty National, his lowest score on the PGA Tour since the first week of February. And he still isn’t guaranteed to be the first-round leader at The Barclays.
The FedEx Cup playoffs got off to a soggy start Thursday with two rain delays that lasted six hours.
It was a start-again, stop-again day on the bank of the Hudson River, but that didn’t stop Stadler. He ran off three birdies early, then returned from the second delay and threw in four more birdies on a soft golf course.
