Millions Of Stars In Motion Make Glorious Intergalactic Collisions

Collisions happen on different scales. Particles collide. Squirrels accidentally run into each other. Rams butt heads. Tectonic plates shift against each other. There’s a lot going on. But in this photo a dwarf galaxy and spiral galaxy are smooshing into each other. And galaxies are kind of huge.

R&B Singer Taio Cruz Launches KeWe Social NetworkIt is safe to say that there is no shortage of social networks for us to choose from these days, although names such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram are probably the more popular ones, but it seems that despite all these popular networks sporting an impressive user base, it has not deterred some from rolling out a social network of their own. Indiegogo Project Launched To Create Steve Jobs Statue

Indiegogo Project Launched To Create Steve Jobs StatuePeople always make jokes about how Apple fans are the most diehard kind of fans, and how they always try to convert people around them to using Apple’s products. While one can enjoy the use of a product without seeing the need to tell everyone about it, there are also fans who take things to the next level, and in this case a recent Indiegogo project has been started up where its creator(s) are currently seeking funds to build a statue of Steve Jobs. We’re not sure how serious they are, but according to the project’s description, depending on how much they can raise, they could end up with a Steve Jobs statue the size of the Statue of Liberty or maybe even the Colossus of Rhodes, which we’re sincerely hoping was said in jest!

While we wouldn’t put it past some hardcore fans to do something like this, it does feel like something of a joke, but we guess you’ll have to be the judge of that! In any case the project has managed to raise close to $500 of its $50,000 goal and with 57 days to go, we wonder if it will be able to hit its goal! More information about the project can be found on its Indiegogo page where you can even make a donation if you wish. Interesting.

    Additional iPhone 5C Photos Leaked

Additional iPhone 5C Photos LeakedWhile Apple might have been pretty strict in the past and diligent when it came to preventing iPhone leaks, it looks like they might have been dropping the ball recently as the iPhone 5C and iPhone 5S are starting to become some of Apple’s worst kept secrets, with celebrities even posing on Twitter with said leaked device. In any case thanks to a newly leaked photo, we are looking at the back housing of the iPhone 5C, except this time in a blue finish.

This leaked photo from Tactus does not reveal anything new, besides hint at one of the possible color choices that customers can choose from, and basically corroborates the slew of leaked photos and even a video that we’ve seen in the past. The iPhone 5C, for those unfamiliar, is expected to be a low-cost alternative to the regular iPhone and will sport a plastic body to help keep costs down. Its dimensions are said to be similar to the iPhone 5 but could be slightly thicker due to its use of plastic.  Take it with a grain of salt for now, but we expect Apple could be set to announce the device during an event rumored to take place on the 10th of September.

Cory Booker Condemns Drug War As ‘Tremendous Failure’

On Sunday, Newark Mayor and U.S. Senate candidate Cory Booker (D) took to Twitter to condemn the war on drugs, characterizing the federal government’s approach as a “tremendous failure” and criticizing the Obama administration for not honoring state drug laws.

Booker began by tweeting his support for medical marijuana research. He then launched into an explanation of his thoughts on the federal government’s efforts to curb the illegal drug trade:

Apple Expands USB Charger Replacement Program To 30 Countries

Apple Expands USB Charger Replacement Program To 30 CountriesA couple of weeks ago Apple announced its USB charger replacement program for the US and China in response to the wave of iPhone electrocutions that were the result of using unofficial chargers. The program was then expanded to 6 additional countries, but fret not because if you were living in a country that was not yet supported at that time, it could be supported now as Apple has officially expanded the program to 30 countries. The USB charger replacement program will work the same way in each country, although the discount you receive for your official charger will depend on the country you’re in due to the difference in currency.

For those hearing about this for the first time, Apple has launched this program to encourage people using unofficial chargers to come into an Apple store and replace it with an official charger. Given that one of the reasons why people turn to unofficial chargers is because it is cheaper, Apple has tried to make the switch a bit more enticing by offering up a $10 discount (for the US) on an original charger if they were to bring in their old charger. If you’re a bit uncertain about your charger and would like to take it in to be replaced, you can hit up Apple’s website to find out more.

Alleged Porsche Design BlackBerry Z10 Components Leaked

Alleged Porsche Design BlackBerry Z10 Components LeakedWe have been hearing rumors that BlackBerry was set to announce a Porsche Design BlackBerry Z10 handset, which could also be known as the P’9982 if the rumors are to be believed. We’ve seen the leaked photos and now thanks to newly leaked photos from eTradeSupply who have managed to obtain some components of the alleged device, the photo above is apparently that of the innards of the upcoming phone. Based on what we can see, it appears that the phone will look somewhat similar internally to the BlackBerry Z10, but then again it supposedly will be based on the Z10 with some external design changes.

Of course it’s hard to tell if these are actually that of the Porsche Design, but its curved bottom certainly seems to hint at it. There’s no word on when BlackBerry will announce the Porsche Design BlackBerry Z10 but we’re guessing that the success of the P’9981 must have been compelling enough for BlackBerry to launch something similar for their BlackBerry 10 lineup. In any case with the original Porsche Design coming with a price tag of $2,000, we don’t expect the BlackBerry 10 version to come cheap either.

Redesigned PS Vita Rumored For Launch In September

Redesigned PS Vita Rumored For Launch In September

While we know that Sony will be launching the PlayStation 4 later this year, it seems that Sony might have plans to introduce a new PS Vita as well. According to The Magic Box, they have reported that based on an article in a Japanese newspaper, apparently Sony will be introducing a PS Vita handheld console in September, possibly during the Tokyo Games Show. The new PS Vita is expected to sport a new design with a larger  display that will bump it up to 6.3”, although its resolution will remain at 960×554, so technically its pixel density will be reduced, although how noticeable this is remains to be seen.

The report has also indicated that the RAM in the new PS Vita will also be getting a bump up from 512MB to 1GB and the overall PS Vita design is said to be more in line with the design of the PS4, although we can’t really imagine it at the moment. In any case take it with a grain of salt for now, but what do you guys think? Would you like a slightly larger PS Vita with more RAM and a redesign? Or would you have preferred a more revamped version of the PS Vita? If anything recent reports of a possible PS Vita price cut would certainly suggest that a new model could be introduced, but we guess we’ll just have to wait and find out.

    — The mother of Trayvon Martin spoke out Sunday against the stop-and-frisk police practice in New York City, saying neither police nor civilians have the right to stop someone because of their race.

Secret Guantanamo Camp To Be Challenged By 9/11 Lawyer

GUANTANAMO BAY NAVAL BASE, Cuba — A defense lawyer who gained rare access to an ultra-secret section of the Guantanamo Bay prison said Sunday that the camp does not meet international standards under the Geneva Conventions, an allegation denied by the chief prosecutor for the U.S. military’s war crimes tribunal.

James Connell, a lawyer for one of the five Guantanamo prisoners charged in the Sept. 11 terror attack, plans to file a motion with the judge presiding over the tribunal challenging the conditions in the section known as Camp 7.
