Apple Rumored To Be Working On ‘iTV’ Yet Again

Apple Rumored To Be Working On iTV Yet Again

Over the last few months there have been many rumors suggesting that Apple might be involved in the production of a full fledged HDTV set. The company presumably wants to increase its presence in the television market, and perhaps it can’t do that with the Apple TV, its $99 set-top box. Rumors about the HDTV have waned slightly in recent weeks, nevertheless, the latest comes from Taiwanese publication Economic Daily News. It is said that Apple is working with Foxconn, Innoloux, G-Tech Optoelectronics and Corning of Gorilla Glass fame for its HDTV which is widely referred to as the iTV.

The report further suggests that Apple will release iTV in the first half of 2014. 55″ and 60″ models will reportedly be released first. Foxconn is expected to manufacture the device and display panels might be provided by Innolux. Previous rumors suggest that Apple might introduce a whole new way of interacting with a TV set, some believe that Siri-like voice based technology will debut with Apple’s first ever conventional TV set. Information about pricing is not available right now. The company itself has kept a lid on any information regarding its TV plans, be it another set-top box or a full fledged TV set.

AT&T Galaxy Mega 6.3 Purported Press Shot Leaked

AT&T Galaxy Mega 6.3 Purported Press Shot Leaked

Earlier this year Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Mega smartphone series, of the devices in this series has a massive 6.3 inch display. Back then it was not known which U.S. based carrier will pick up devices from this series. Rumor has it though that Galaxy Mega 6.3 might be making its way to AT&T. The infamous leaker based on Twitter, @evleaks, has posted a purported press shot of the AT&T Galaxy Mega 6.3. This particular source has a pretty solid track record. He hasn’t mentioned anything about the release date just yet, AT&T is naturally tight-lipped about its upcoming smartphones.

Touting a 6.3 inch 1280×720 pixel resolution display, the Galaxy Mega can be considered as a cost-effective alternative to Samsung’s Galaxy Note series of phablets. The international version of Galaxy Mega 6.3 has a 1.7GHz dualcore processor coupled with 1.5GB of RAM. 8GB and 16GB storage models are offered with the ability to expand memory through microSD cards. No information has been offered as yet on the possibility of AT&T’s Galaxy Mega 6.3 variant having slightly different specifications than the international version, which was released back in April. It will be interesting to see in which price bracket AT&T puts this device, given how Samsung’s flagship Galaxy Note 3 is coming out soon, which is likely to command consumer interest once it is released.

Papercraft Analog Digital Clock: Time is Recyclable

Several years ago we saw Alvin Aronson’s minimalist timepiece, which used wood and ceramic to replicate the seven segment digits commonly used in LCD and LED displays.

Instructables member alstroemeria took the idea further, creating a papercraft version of Aronson’s clock.

Alstroemeria used layers of cardstock, an Arduino Uno, 28 servos and a servo controller to make a cheaper and biodegradable version of Aronson’s clock.

Gold iPhone 5S Alleged Picture Posted Online

Gold iPhone 5S Alleged Picture Posted Online

A couple of weeks back it was rumored that iPhone 5S might also be available in gold color. We didn’t hear any more rumors about that possibility, most people thought that it wasn’t likely for Apple to take such a step. A few days ago Ming-Chi Kuo, a well known analyst at KGI Securities, claimed that the gold iPhone 5S is indeed coming and that it would have 128GB of on-board storage. The first picture believed to be of this gold iPhone 5S has been posted online, the picture only shows off the casing and not the fully assembled device.

The picture was initially posted online by a French website called Macboutic. Now you might notice something unorthodox with the picture. There are no regulatory markings, iPhone moniker and Apple logo on the back of this purported iPhone 5S casing. That’s because they’ve been edited out, at least that’s what Macboutic says. Still, this isn’t sufficient to believe that a gold iPhone 5S will become available later this year. For all we know, this casing could belong to a prototype that the company tested at some point in time. Apple is expected to unveil the new iPhone alongside its much rumored low cost sibling at an event on September 10th.

    Razer Goliathus gaming mouse mat

goliathusWhen it comes to your gaming performance on the computer, there are three essentials which any serious gamer worth his or her salt will need to consider, and I am speaking for peripherals here instead of the slew of high performance parts required in your liquid cooled machine. A gaming keyboard that will allow your fingers to reach those keys in double quick time, ensuring that these keys do not jam up at the most crucial moment, a gaming mouse which will be able to keep up with your crazy fast reflexes, and of course, a gaming mouse mat to ensure that your gaming mouse achieves its maximum performance capability – limited only by your skill. If you already own all of that and are unable to make any headway in your game, then perhaps it is time to reconsider this potential “career path” and concentrate on your day job instead. Still, for those who are still searching for the “perfect” gaming mouse mat, here is the Razer Goliathus gaming mouse mat for you to consider.

The Razer Goliathus gaming mouse mat has just received a redesign recently, where the latest gaming surface will be able to further distinguish itself from other gaming mouse mats, where it will not only maintain the beloved speed-enhancing and control-precise features found in its predecessor, it will also be able to offer a maximum level of performance so that serious gamers who make the cut might be able to use this as the launch pad to gaming stardom. Thanks to a dense, anti-fraying, long-lasting stitched frame, the surface will remain sharp for consistent tournament performance all the time.

There is the “Control Edition” of the Goliathus that will boast of a heavy weave with micro-textures on the surface, delivering just the right amount of friction so that your gaming mouse will work at its most efficient. Available in small, medium, large and extended sizes, it will retail for $14.99, $19.99, $24.99 and $34.99, respectively.

Photographer Flies Phantom Quadcopter Drone Straight Into Groom’s Face

Drones are widely considered to be a creation for wreaking havoc in war zones and for clandestine surveillance in remote parts of the world. However those are not the only kind of drones. A restaurant used drones to deliver food to customers’ tables while researchers in Iran are working on a drone that can save lives. One popular drone, which can be bought by anyone, is the Phantom Quadcopter. You might remember it from the 3 minute short film of New York City it was used to create. A photographer decided to use the drone, with a GoPro camera attached to it, for a bridal shoot. Unfortunately he ended up flying the drone straight into the groom’s face.

The photographer tried to get a unique fly-by angle by flying the drone past the couple, he was able to do it the first time around. When he tried to the same maneuver the second time, he underestimated the lift time and the drone hit the groom on the side of the face. This collision resulted in a cut on his cheek and on the side of his head. Fortunately, despite the fact that Phantom Quadcopter is capable of a top vertical speed of over 19 feet per second, no major harm was caused and the incident was laughed off.

Nook Simple Touch with GlowLight gets another $20 price drop, undercuts competition

Looking for a new e-reader? Barnes & Noble is trying to get your attention. The bookseller has knocked a solid $20 off the price of its Nook Simple Touch with GlowLight reader, underselling its competitors by the same amount. This is actually the device’s second major price reduction– the first drop, late last year, matched its price to Amazon’s Kindle Paperwhite. Although price cuts often lead up to a device refresh, earlier this year Barnes & Noble was rumored to be stepping back from new hardware launches. Either way, we won’t scoff at a cheaper Nook, considering how versatile it can be with a little encouragement.
