Michael Grunwald, Time Magazine Reporter, Sends Out Shocking Tweet About Julian Assange

A TIME magazine reporter caused ire on Twitter Saturday night when he said that he “can’t wait to write a defense of the drone strike that takes out” Wikileaks founder Julian Assange.

Michael Grunwald‘s tweet, since deleted, was quickly met with outrage and bewilderment. Glenn Greenwald, who recently broke several revelations about NSA surveillance programs based on documents provided to him by leaker Edward Snowden, was particularly vocal in expressing his disgust with Grunwald’s statement.

Galaxy Mega 63 press render surfaces with navy blue body, AT&T branding

Courtesy of the ever-reliable @evleaks, it appears the Galaxy Mega 6.3 is indeed coming to AT&T. A purported press render shows the device colored in a navy blue plaid with the carrier’s globe logo below the rear-facing camera. Of the few versions that passed through the FCC, you may recall that this one (SGH-I527 Melius) features Ma Bell-compatible LTE connectivity. There are currently no other details aside from all that, but it seems this behemoth of smartphone should hit the States soon.

MEXICO CITY, Aug 17 (Reuters) – Mexican security forces on Saturday caught the leader of the cocaine-trafficking Gulf Cartel, local media reported, the second major gang boss capture in just over a month as President Enrique Pena Nieto fights cartel violence.

Mario Ramirez Trevino, known as X-20 or “The Bald One,” was captured in Mexico’s northern Tamaulipas state by the Mexican military, media reported.

Ramirez had not long been the leader of the Gulf Cartel, whose former boss Mario Cardenas, alias “Fatso”, was caught in September.

Iran Has 18,000 Centrifuges For Uranium Enrichment, Outgoing Nuclear Chief Claims

TEHRAN, Iran — Iran’s outgoing nuclear chief says Tehran has a total of 18,000 centrifuges for uranium enrichment – a process that can be a pathway to making nuclear weapons. The number is higher by a third than publicly known.

Fereidoun Abbasi’s announcement came as he handed over his post Saturday to Ali Akbar Salehi, appointed by new President Hasan Rouhani.
