PS4 And Xbox One Games Could Cost 37% More In Australia

PS4 And Xbox One Games Could Cost 37% More In AustraliaCompanies such as Apple and Adobe have been questioned by the Australian government in the past over why their products are priced higher in their country, even after conversion which makes certain products a lot more expensive than their North American equivalents. While Adobe has caved to the Australian government’s demands, could Sony and Microsoft eventually cave too? If you’re wondering what we’re talking about, Choice Online from Australia  has reported that it is possible that Australians can expect to pay a lot more for PS4 and Xbox One games.

The company has reported that based on their comparisons of prices from local retailers such as JB Hi-Fi and EB Games, they expect that Australians could pay as much as 37% more for PS4 and Xbox One games compared to those living in North America, where the games have be priced at $59.99. Naturally this is pretty unfair for Australian gamers, and while it is understandable that Microsoft and Sony might not price it at AUD59.99 as they could make a loss due to the USD being stronger than the Aussie dollar, pricing it 37% higher seems a little extreme. It will be interesting to see if the Australian government has anything to say about this.

BBC Sport app comes to Kindle Fire, now lets you filter out Chelsea news

BBC Sport app comes to Kindle Fire, now lets you filter out Chelsea news

iOS users already had access to the BBC Sport app’s customizable “quick links” feature, which provides more direct access to favorite sports, but an update has just taken the idea a bit further. Quick links now work across Android and the freshly-minted Kindle Fire version too, and they additionally allow you to filter news according to which football club(s) you want to follow and which bits of multi-million-pound transfer gossip you’d rather just ignore. Other, more general improvements include refreshed indexes for a total of 41 different sports and greater prominence given to major tournaments like Formula 1 and the Ashes. If you want to check out the app on a Kindle Fire or Fire HD, you’ll need to be in the UK — an international version is still in the works and will be “available soon.” There’s a hat-trick of relevant download links below.

Batman: Arkham Origins Multiplayer Mode Will Skip The Wii U

Batman: Arkham Origins Multiplayer Mode Will Skip The Wii UWhen it comes to video games on consoles, most developers tend to release on the PlayStation and Xbox platforms, with Nintendo’s Wii and Wii U platform acting as an afterthought. For fans of Batman, you might have heard the good news in which Warner Bros confirmed that Batman: Arkham Origins will be released on all platforms – the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, the PC, and the Wii U. The bad news is that unfortunately the multiplayer mode for the game will not be released for the Wii U, instead multiplayer mode will be available only on the PS3, Xbox 360, and the PC.

According to a statement released by Warner Bros, “The team is focusing development efforts on platforms with the largest MP audience,” which while blunt is pretty accurate. The Wii U console is unfortunately not doing so hot right now and we’re sure excluding features from games will not be helping the console get back on its feet. Interestingly though Wii U gamers could end up paying the same amount for the game despite it lacking a pretty major feature, a move that we’re sure many gamers will not be too pleased about.

Star Wars: The Old Republic Skips On Subscriber Reward Due To “Technical Hurdles”

Star Wars: The Old Republic Skips On Subscriber Reward Due To Technical HurdlesBioWare’s Star Wars: The Old Republic got off to a pretty good start, but unfortunately over time they started to lose players and eventually dropped the subscription model in favor of going free-to-play. However this seemed a bit unfair to gamers who have been loyally paying for the service and BioWare announced that they would be rewarding their subscribers to show their appreciation for their loyalty to the game. The first wave of rewards were handed out in the form of Cartel Coins, and a second round of rewards was supposed to be given as well, but it looks like that will no longer be happening.

This was confirmed by Eric Musco, the Community Manager of Star Wars: The Old Republic , whose statement revealed that the reason behind the cancellation of the reward was because of technical hurdles in which they will not be able to deliver on their promise. The “tech hurdles” were not specified but either way SWTOR players will not be receiving any rewards in the near future. The good news is that BioWare are looking at other ways in which they can reward their players, although when exactly will this reward be given out remains to be seen.

Temple Run 2 Adds Usain Bolt Character To The Game With His Own Special Ability

Temple Run 2 Adds Usain Bolt Character To The Game With His Own Special AbilityThe first Temple Run game got pretty famous on its own, which later saw the game utilized by movie studios to help promote their movies. The game itself then got a sequel with updated graphics and new ruins to navigate, and if you love playing the game as much as I do, you might be pretty pleased to learn that the game has recently received an update where it will introduce to gamers a brand new character that they pay to purchase. For a limited time and if you’re willing to drop $0.99, you will be able to purchase the Usain Bolt character!

Yes it is the same Usain Bolt athlete who broke records in sporting events, and now he is a playable character in Temple Run 2. It is unknown how long this “limited time” offer is, but if you’re the sort that likes unlocking as many characters as you can, you might want to move fast. Usain Bolt’s character will also be getting his own unique ability called (unsurprisingly) the “Bolt”, and it basically combines the Boost ability and the Magnet ability together, which we have to admit is pretty darn cool. In any case for those who have yet to download the game, you can hit up the iTunes App Store for the free download, but just to reiterate, the Usain Bolt character will cost $0.99 to unlock.

Trakdot Luggage Tracking Device Is Now Shipping For $49.99

Trakdot Luggage Tracking Device Is Now Shipping For $49.99Given how technology has advanced over the years, it is not surprising that some innovations have arisen that allow us to begin tracking our luggage in a more hi-tech manner, instead of tying a brightly color string or tag to identify our bags. We’ve seen various concepts and solutions, one of them being Trakdot which debuted earlier this year at CES. The good news is that if you were enamored by Trakdot’s features, you will be pleased to learn that the device has begun shipping to customers and if you were so inclined, you could order one for yourself.

For those wondering what Trakdot is, it’s basically a luggage tracking device that can be placed in a luggage which will notify the owner of the luggage where it is via an accompanying iOS/Android app. Notifications can also be sent via SMS should you not own a smartphone, and basically what it does is it offers peace of mind, letting you know where your luggage is at all times. Granted mix-ups can and will happen, but at least with Trakdot you will be able to locate your luggage which will save you and the airline company time in trying to figure out where it went.

The Trakdot device is priced at $49.99 and is available for order via its website. It will also require a $8.99 activation fee and an annual service fee of $12.99.
