Cheating Husbands’ Favorite Beer Revealed

According to a new survey, your husband’s favorite beer may indicate whether or not he’ll stay faithful. Yes, you read that right.

Illicit Encounters, a U.K.-based dating site for people looking to cheat, surveyed their members and found that Guinness is the beer preferred most by cheating men. Another international beer, Corona, was the second most popular. Click through the slideshow below to see what other drinks made the top five.

And although Illicit Encounters sought to find out the beer preferences of adulterous men, they also found that men engaging in affairs actually drink less than their monogamous counterparts. According to a recent blog post, the reason cheating men may drink less is because they are more health and weight conscious, or because they are afraid of the repercussions of getting too drunk.

Clergy At Higher Risk Of Depression And Anxiety, Study Finds

Clergy are often relied upon to guide others through difficult times, but a new study has found that the very nature of their work could put them at greater risk of developing depression and anxiety themselves.

Researchers from the Clergy Health Initiative at Duke Divinity School interviewed over 1,700 United Methodist pastors by phone and through online surveys, and found that the instances of depression were 8.7 percent and 11.1 percent, respectively, compared to the average national rate of 5.5 percent.

“It’s concerning that such a high percentage of clergy may be depressed while they are trying to inspire congregations, lead communities and social change ventures, even just trying to do counseling of their own parishioners,” said Rae Jean Proeschold-Bell, the Clergy Health Initiative’s research director. “These are responsibilities that you would really want a mentally healthy person be engaged in, and yet it may be the challenges of those responsibilities that might be driving these high rates of depression.”

Cory Booker Responds To Steve Lonegan’s ‘Callous, Bigoted Disrespect To Gays And Lesbians’

WASHINGTON — Newark Mayor Cory Booker (D) responded to his Senate opponent’s implication that gay men aren’t real “guys” on Wednesday, saying it was “disheartening” and “sad.”

“It’s just disheartening to hear somebody, in this day and age, in the United States of America, say basically … that gay men are not men, they’re not guys,” he said in an interview with HuffPost Live, referring to remarks made by Republican Senate candidate Steve Lonegan. “It’s shocking to one’s conscience in this country, where we believe that the content of one’s character, the courage in one’s heart, the strength of one’s sense of purpose, the love that one has for others and their service, is what defines them. And instead he’s challenging the masculinity of millions of Americans.”

In a Washington Post profile published on Tuesday, Booker said that he is perfectly comfortable if people are unsure about his sexual orientation and he wants to keep his romantic life private.

John Lewis March On Washington Speech: Country Has ‘A Great Distance To Go’

Fifty years after serving as the youngest speaker at the 1963 March On Washington, Rep. John Lewis (D-Ga.) had the honor to speak again.

Lewis conducted his Wednesday 50th anniversary speech from the same spot where Dr. Martin Luther King delivered his legendary “I Have A Dream” speech. He stressed that while the country has made progress, the country has “a great distance to go” before fulfilling King’s dream.

“Sometime I hear people saying nothing has changed, but for someone to grow up the way I grew up in the cotton fields of Alabama to now be serving in the United States Congress makes we want to tell them come and walk in my shoes,” Lewis said.

Star Trek Communicator Dog Bag Dispenser, for when your dog has to boldly go

star_trek_communicator_dog_poop_bag

Space really is the final frontier. However, the vast majority of us will never get any closer to the stars than can be achieved in a regular airplane. That doesn’t stop us from gazing through a telescope and dreaming, though. Of course, that’s not the only way we can pretend to be exploring the vast emptiness. Sometimes we want to pretend that we’re a part of the crew of the USS Enterprise, making contact on an uncharted world. Well now you have one more excuse to make believe whenever you’re out walking your dog.

The Star Trek Communicator Dog Bag Dispenser is an amusing novelty item that will go perfectly with the Captian’s Chair Dog Bed that we recently wrote about. In fact, all you need now is a Starfleet uniform for your pooch. Then, when people ask you why you’re carrying that Star Trek communicator around, you can say that it’s for the captain’s log.

This accessory features raised plastic buttons to provide the most accurate feel possible. You’ll also find a plastic clip so that it attaches to your leash, and won’t get lost. A zipper runs along the outer edges so that you can store the little plastic bags inside. The Communicator won’t be shipping until November, but you can pre-order it now for $20.

Steve Wozniak Calls Apple ‘Nimble And Innovative’

Steve Wozniak Calls Apple Nimble And Innovative

Steve Wozniak, co-founder of Apple, was interviewed by the BBC yesterday. He talked about Apple, its major rivals Samsung and Microsoft, Tim Cook and the future for Apple. He said that Tim Cook isn’t out of place as the company’s leader as Steve Jobs “chose Tim Cook to be in that role, in that position,” because Jobs had a strong feeling of what makes a company and its products great, adding that Apple has remained “nimble and innovative” over the years despite its size. It was rumored recently that the company’s board had urged Tim Cook to be more innovative, market analysts often rant about how Apple hasn’t released a truly innovative product over the last two years, even Larry Ellison is pessimistic about Apple’s future without Jobs.. Wozniak said people who criticize Apple for that need to realize that “great advances in mankind don’t happen every year.”

On Microsoft, Wozniak has the view that it has been “resting on” the markets that it build up quite a long time ago. He doesn’t think that the outgoing CEO Steve Ballmer had a significant reign like Bill Gates had. Wozniak acknowledges that Samsung is a strong competitor for Apple, particularly because of their marketing prowess and distribution channels in many markets around the world where Apple does not command much influence. He says that the fight with Samsung is worth fighting for. Steve Wozniak’s interview can be viewed on the BBC’s website.
