Kentucky Fake Field Goal: Kicker Joe Mansour Scores Touchdown Against Florida (VIDEO)

Aiming to avoid a 27th straight loss to Florida, Kentucky got creative.

After No. 20 Florida scored on its opening drive, Kentucky’s first offensive drive seemed to stall just outside the red zone. The Wildcats’ field goal unit trotted onto the field as the coaches on the sideline dug deep into the playbook. With the team lined up for a 42-yard field goal attempt, holder Jared Leet took the snap and then flipped the ball over his shoulder to kicker Joe Mansour. The senior specialist caught the ball in stride and motored 25 yards for the game-tying touchdown.

SNL Cold Open: Jesse Pinkman Helps Obama Explain The Affordable Care Act

“Saturday Night Live” opened its 39th season with Barack Obama (Jay Pharoah) doing his best to explain the embattled Affordable Care Act.

To support his argument, Obama introduced a series of testimonials from “regular” Americans, including an appearance by “Jesse from New Mexico,” the first of three cameos by “Breaking Bad’s” Aaron Paul. Ted Cruz (Taran Killam) also stopped by, but not to help or make any kind of sense, of course.

The sketch kicked off an overall strong season premiere hosted by Tina Fey, with musical guest Arcade Fire. Miley Cyrus will do double-duty as both host and musical act on October 5.

House Budget Vote Passes In Favor Of New Obamacare Deal-Breaker, Shutdown Looms

The House voted early Sunday morning to pass a new continuing resolution, 231 to 192, which would fund the government thru Dec. 15.

The plan, which emerged on Saturday, would also impose a one-year delay of Obamacare and a full repeal of the law’s tax on medical devices.

“The House has again passed a plan that reflects the American people’s desire to keep the government running and stop the president’s health care law,” House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) said in a statement, adding, “Now that the House has again acted, it’s up to the Senate to pass this bill without delay to stop a government shutdown.”

Acer Iconia W4 tablet spotted at event with Bay Trail chip, IPS display (video)

Acer Iconia W4 tablet with Bay Trail caught on video

There have been persistent rumors of an upgraded Acer Iconia W3 tablet with an IPS display and, quite possibly, a faster Bay Trail-based processor. Those rumors are now reality, as Bouweenpc.nl has just tried an unannounced Iconia W4 at an Intel event. True to expectations, the 8-inch device was carrying both the new 1.33GHz Atom Z3740 processor and a much improved “wide view angle” (read: IPS) screen. Not much else may change, however — the pre-release slate still carried the W3’s 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. Given that the W4 is running Windows 8.1, we wouldn’t be surprised if it reaches the market sometime around the Windows update’s launch in October. Check out Bouweenpc.nl‘s hands-on video after the break.

New Exhibition Explores Andy Warhol’s Relationship With Books

We can totally imagine Andy Warhol wandering up and down grocery store aisles, scouring the latest fashion magazine or perusing tabloids for trashy tragedies. But curling up with a good book? That’s an image we never really pictured.

A new exhibition titled “Reading Andy Warhol” is out to explore the still mysterious relationship between the image-obsessed pop artist and the written word. Although there have been who-knows-how-many Warhol-centric exhibitions in the past, none have yet to touch on this aspect of his art and life.

NSA Maps Social Connections Of Some Americans, New York Times Reports

WASHINGTON — For almost three years the National Security Agency has been tapping the data it collects to map out some Americans’ social connections, allowing the government to identify their associates, their locations at certain times, their traveling companions and other personal information, The New York times reported.

Citing documents provided by former NSA systems analyst Edward Snowden, the Times reported that the NSA began allowing the analysis of phone call and e-mail logs in November 2010 to examine some Americans’ networks of associations for foreign intelligence purposes after NSA officials lifted restrictions on the practice. The newspaper posted the report on its website Saturday.
