The letterpress was a huge leap forward for mass communication when Johannes Gutenberg perfected the moveable type machine way back in the 1450s. These days, it’s considered a specialty craft. But this tiny letterpress is thoroughly modern: It’s assembled with parts printed on a standard 3D printer. Whoa.
The Syrian Electronic Army has made quite a name for itself. It has hacked a number of high profile Twitter accounts as well as websites, and its latest target is related to probably the most high profile individual on the planet, U.S. President Barack Obama. The President’s social media updates on Facebook and Twitter were hijacked today apparently by exploiting a vulnerability in the URL shortener that is used to promote Organizing for Action, which supports Obamacare. Furthermore, the Syrian Electronic Army also claims that it has been able to access “many Obama campaign emails,” and has also been able to hack into Obama’s donation website. The hijacked links posted on Facebook and Twitter took visitors to a 24 minute video titled “Syria facing terrorism,” but they have now been fixed.

UConn Response To Sexual Assault Complaint Draws Scorn From Students, Scrutiny From Lawmakers
Posted in: Today's ChiliStudents and lawmakers are not happy with how administrators at the University of Connecticut have responded after seven current and former students revealed a week ago that they filed two federal complaints against the school, alleging failures in the handling of sexual violence on campus.
To voice their concern with UConn President Susan Herbst’s response last week, a group of students tagged the campus Sunday with chalkings of sexual assault statistics and phrases like, “We are your students. Please listen to us. We are huskies too.”
Brittnie Carrier, a UConn junior involved in the chalking, said she was surprised by Herbst’s strong defense of the university’s handling of sexual misconduct at a trustees meeting Wednesday. Herbst denied the university has a problem in this area, complimenting the campus police and saying any suggestion they do not care for victims is “astonishingly misguided.” Her remarks came two days after a group of UConn students announced Wednesday that they had filed both a Title IX and Clery complaint against the university that alleged the school has failed to address sexual assaults and harassment and has denied institutional support for victims on campus.

Country crooner Jason Aldean has found himself in unfortunate circumstances after a tour bus carrying the “Dirt Road Anthem” singer ran over a pedestrian early Monday morning in Knox County, Indiana.
Multiple publications report that Albert Kennedy of Vincennes, Ind., was crossing the street at 1:28 a.m., when the tour bus struck and killed him. ABC News confirmed the tragedy with the Knox County Sheriff’s Department, and also cited the police report that claimed “the individual deceased from trauma to the head and chest.”
Aldean, 36, took to his WhoSay account to express his condolences to the victim’s family. “With a heavy heart, I’m sad to say that a man passed away last night after stepping out in front of my bus in Indiana. In all the years I’ve been touring and all the miles we’ve driven, nothing prepares you for something like this to happen. I’m praying for Albert Kennedy’s family and friends today and ask that you do the same,” he wrote.
