They put together a 1:45 minute supercut of De Niro explaining himself in some of his most famous roles. The clip includes scenes from “Taxi Driver,” “Analyze This,” and “Goodfellas,” among others. 20 Stunning Photos Of Natural Beauty That Your Human Eyes Could Never See

The winning photos of Nikon’s annual Small World Photomicrography Competition prove that there is really more than meets the human eye. The 20 winning photographers this year are masters of photomicrography, or photos taken through a microscope. Each photo is an example of the wondrous beauty and detail that can be found in the most unexpected things, like plankton and embryos.

The first place winner, Wim van Egmond, explains how he takes photos: “I approach micrographs as if they are portraits. The same way you look at a person and try to capture their personality, I observe an organism and try to capture it as honestly and realistically as possible.” Check out the top 20 photos below.

Microsoft builds big giant Xbox One

(Credit: Microsoft)

A larger-than-life Xbox One appeared in downtown Vancouver on Wednesday.

Just how big? Well, it’s hard to tell without knowing the height of the people in the below photo posted by the Xbox One in Canada blog, but if we assume them to be of average size, we’d say this Xbox One stands between 8 and 10 feet high.

It’s been assembled in Vancouver as part of a campaign called One Source. Apparently, Canadian gamers can “pledge” their gamertags to “unlock” the Xbox.

We’re not sure if the unlocking is metaphorical or whether the Xbox One will actually burst open when enough gamertags have been submitted — almost like some sort of console pinata — but according to the press release:

The Canadian Xbox Live community can power on and unlock incredible one-of-a-kind experiences and rewards by pledging their gamertags to the project known as One Source.

At the time of this writing, One Source had 85 percent of the required gamertags. We can only hope to see this thing on US streets before the … [Read more]

Finland’s Government Data Network Hit With ‘Severe And Large’ Hacking

Finlands Government Data Network Hit With Severe And Large Hacking

We often hear about cyberattacks being launched against a country, the U.S. and China have been bickering about this for quite some time, and only recently Israel saw a major tunnel being blocked due to a cyberattack. A private Finnish broadcaster, MTV3, reported that Finland’s government data network had been hit by large-scale hacking. After the report was aired, the government arranged a press conference to confirm that a “sever and large” hack had breached the Foreign Ministry’s data network.

Finland’s foreign minister, Erkki Tuomioja, confirmed that the breach was discovered in spring 2013, and that the country’s intelligence service is investigating the hack as they believe its a “serious espionage” case. Tuomioja didn’t say who the government suspects to have carried out this hack. However, MTV3 previously reported, citing sources, that intelligence agents hailing from China and Russia might be involved. It further added that the hackers had access to the foreign ministry’s network for years, and that they targeted classified communications between officials of Finland and the European Union. Tuomioja assured during the press conference that there has been no exposure of the most highly classified information. Both Russia and China have previously been accused to state-sponsored hacking in the past, particularly by the U.S. and other Western countries, but so far both countries have denied ever having any direct involvement in the cyberattacks.
