Gay Couples, Choosing To Say ‘I Don’t’

When the Supreme Court struck down the Defense of Marriage Act in June, Brian Blatz, 47, marched into the kitchen of Fiddleheads, the restaurant in Jamesburg, N.J., that he owns with Dan Davis, 58.

“DOMA is dead,” Mr. Blatz said, before the pair turned their attention to opening the restaurant for lunch. And last month, when a judge in New Jersey ruled that same-sex marriage should be legalized, their reaction was similarly muted.

“I said ‘wow’ and he said ‘yea,’ ” Mr. Blatz said. “And then we went right back to work.”

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — In tourist towns worldwide, visitors are greeted with racks of brochures promoting everything from tours and museums to restaurants and hotels. But in the world of computers, smartphones and tablets, a new interactive visitor kiosk developed in South Carolina and deployed as far away as New York City might make such brochures a thing of the past.

Chad Priest says it was one of those cluttered racks in Charleston, a city that attracts 4.5 million visitors a year, that prompted the idea for the kiosk.

“We said there’s got to be a better way, with all the technology we have now,” said Priest, chief operating officer of City Corridor, the technology firm that developed the flat-faced kiosks with a large touch screen for visitors to see ads for attractions, make reservations and print out maps, menus and more.

15 Things We Learned From Ava Ryan, 3-Year-Old Vine Video Sensation

Katie Ryan originally signed up on Vine (username Katie Ryan) to share videos she took of her 3-year-old daughter Ava with family and friends. “We have family in California, and all over the place, so we thought it was great for everybody to get to see her,” she told The Huffington Post.
