Samsung Galaxy Express 2 Arrives At Vodafone UK

Samsung Galaxy Express 2 Arrives At Vodafone UKSamsung Galaxy Express 2 Arrives At Vodafone UKSamsung and Apple are two companies with very different philosophies – but somehow or rather, both of them seem to work pretty well, as they are corporate giants in their respective countries. Apple has just two smartphones under their name for the current iPhone generation, where the have remained with just a single iPhone model in the past, but their South Korean rival begs to differ. Samsung does seem to offer a phone for everyone, regardless of their budget or needs, and this time around, we are concentrating on what Samsung has to offer with the Samsung Galaxy Express 2 which has arrived at Vodafone UK.

The Samsung Galaxy Express 2 is said to be exclusive to Vodafone stores at launch, although additional retailers are set to follow. Expect it to arrive with a decent 4.5” qHD display, Android 4.2 Jelly Bean as the operating system of choice, a dual-core 1.7GHz processor, 8GB of internal memory that can be expanded via a memory card, and a 5-megapixel shooter. Apart from that, it will also boast of LTE connectivity to keep up with the ties, and you will also find Samsung’s slew of internal software including S Travel, S Translator and Story Album. No idea on pricing as at press time, but additional details should be forthcoming.

Kindle Fire HDX Blue Tint Is Normal

Kindle Fire HDX Blue Tint Is NormalSo, the Kindle Fire HDX from Amazon has begun to ship as we announced just a few days back. If you happened to have picked up one of these puppies for yourself then, have you noticed as to why the display on your brand new Kindle Fire HDX comes with a somewhat bluish tint around the edges? Is it a defect? Did you think to yourself, that after having spent good money on a new high end tablet, it ends up like a love story gone bad? Fret not, that bluish tint has been described to be normal.

Apparently, it was part of an effort to achieve the vaunted color accuracy for the Amazon Kindle Fire HDX that saw Amazon make use of blue LEDs in order to light the display. Hence, the result of including that bit of hardware would be why there is an azure hue that makes its way around the display’s sides, especially on books and web sites. Apart from that, Amazon also claims that such lighting technique is good for your device’s battery, since it is touted to increase battery life by up to 20 percent. Will this particular tinge of blue turn you off from making a positive purchase decision?

The Lindy Lid: A Forgotten Fashion Craze From The Golden Age of Flight

The Lindy Lid: A Forgotten Fashion Craze From The Golden Age of Flight

In the summer of 1927 a new fashion craze swept the nation. Called the "Lucky Lindy Lid," it was a ladies’ felt hat that came in a variety of sizes and colors. Adorned with a small propellor on the front and two miniature wings darting out on each side, it may have looked a bit ridiculous, but it celebrated an important moment in aviation history — Charles Lindbergh’s flight across the Atlantic.

Garmin Tactix GPS Watch Is Going For $450 A Pop

Garmin Tactix GPS Watch Is Going For $450 A PopDedicated GPS navigation devices used to be all the rage at one time (which does feel as though it is in the distant past now, come to think of it), and Garmin, one of the companies involved in developing and rolling out GPS navigation devices have had to adapt in order to survive in a world filled with Apple Maps and Google Maps. I guess you could say that the Garmin Tactix GPS watch is one of such an effort, as this wrist-mounted timepiece has been described as “inspired by the requirements of law enforcement and police special operations.”

You will find that timekeeping is not the only thing that the Garmin Tactix GPS watch is good at, as it will also come with an altimeter, barometer and a 3-axis compass. For those who happen to pick up a US-based Garmin Tactix GPS watch, it will arrive preloaded with tide data, while all the other watches will also include Jumpmaster software. It happens to be waterproof up to 50 meters, boasting a night-vision-friendly green backlight with the ability to track GPS coordinates for up to 50 hours on a single charge of your battery. Of course, it does the timekeeping bit just fine, accompanied by a timer, stopwatch, world clock and alarm functionality. Unfortunately, the Garmin Tactix only arrives in one shade – matte black, where it will arrive later this year for $450. [Press Release]

Crytek Warface Free-to-Play FPS Launches: If It’s Free, It’s for Me

I’m a big fan of all of Crytek’s FPS video games. The thing I don’t like about buying new video games is that they can get a little expensive at about $60 each. Crytek has announced that its new and free to play FPS video game is now available called Warface. That’s right, a free to play Crytek quality videogame for PC gamers.

    warface tbmagnify

Crytek says that Warface has AAA production values and all of the quality expected from the studio even though it’s free. The game is playable directly in PC browsers and has both cooperative and competitive game modes. The game also has four soldier classes and places a special emphasis on teamwork.

Despite the game being free, Crytek also promises that the game will be constantly updated to provide fresh challenges. The game is now available in North America, Europe, and Turkey. It’s also available localized in English, French, German, and Turkish languages. Support for additional languages is coming in future.

Of course, nothing is completely free, and you can expect there to be many upgrades and add-ons available for a fee. Let’s hope the game isn’t one of those “pay to win” situations.

How the Silver Screen Turned Into a Technicolor Dream

How the Silver Screen Turned Into a Technicolor Dream

Today’s moviegoers are a jaded bunch—it seems to require 3D visuals and advanced audio systems just to get a rise out of them. But it wasn’t always this tough in Tinseltown; there was once a time when something as basic as color film was sufficient to blow an audience’s collective mind.
